Despite the DeLorean being a shit car overall, what with its woeful V6 powerplant, reliability and fuel economy, it is such an awesome car in many aspects, such as the styling, the cult following, the sound and just nostalgic essence. It was my childhood hero and still kind of is today.

@@skylined5534 it's not just that, the DeLorean all over in different markets suffered the same fate. The DeLorean DMC-12 promised a lot but never materialised for production. Initially, an inline-four unit from Citröen was going to be the powerplant, but then DeLorean favoured the Ford Cologne V6. This was abandoned for the PRV6 engine that was only suitable for the car at the time. Production costs and the said governing laws of the US do come into play.

Now those were cars back then, pure mechanical vehicles and raw power. The dashboard and engine sound remind me of my grandfather's Peugeot 405 I learned how to drive with. Once the engine was all warmed up after 5km this thing was a beast if you hit the pedal. Golden memories.

It was supposed to but sadly is got knocked down to a PRV V6 because of the EPA regulations, not a bad engine but I'm just bitter it coulda have a V8 instead

The Delorean was a car that over promised and under delivered. However its visual styling is still incredible to this day, and the Delorean fans have upgraded the car significantly. So it’s kinda funny how it’s now become this cool car over time thanks to the fans.

@@nexus3182 Do you you know film history? According to Google, there was a film trilogy, you may have heard of it, called Back to the Future, which featured the DeLorean and when it hits 88 Mph, it time travels, so long as the Flux Capacitor and all other Time Circuits are on.

@@alebone_ You and Anthony are a pair of bell ends. The PRV engine was a brilliant but of kit but had to be strangled to the point of hilarity by retarded USA smog laws. Wasn't this around the time you were seeing less than 150bhp from 8+ litre V8s? 😂

it basically asks for a card. In japan, cars have card readers for road taxes. You can get a card and go through the toll booths on the "highways" without stopping and sometimes cheaper. Think of it as a "road tax credit card".
