i don't know much about xbox consoles, will the series S give me the exact experience that is visible in the video with the series X? from what i gather the series s is a weaker version of the series x, my question would be, does the series S still have the backwards compatibility mode and is it just as good as on the series x, and if not, what are the drawbacks?

@@exiledmonastic4650 The series S also has backwards compatibility, just like the Xbox One did before it. I can confirm that it runs great with backwards compatibility, too-so much so that it's basically not worth playing BC games on original hardware. Morrowind, for instance, runs at a very steady 60 FPS at 4K with HDR support. It is less powerful than the Series X, but with BC you won't really feel it as much. With Series S/X/One games though, the resolution is generally relegated to 1080p at 60 FPS (performance mode) and 1440p at 30 FPS (quality mode). Series X usually runs quality mode at 4K, and performance mode at 1440p. It's still very much worth it, though; almost every game I've played on Series S runs like a dream.

Exactly. If they can really hit some golden nails in the exclusive area, then they'd be quite ahead than the PS4 overall. But since exclusives is kind of the biggest part of getting a console , and that's practically the one area Xbox fails in, PS4 is ahead of Xbox Even then, even if MS does pull some great games not on the PS4, will literally never happen, because of Xbox cross-play. Still, you gotta love Microsoft for having such a consumer-friendly mentality

Realmasterorder If you could get it on PC I would recommend it there however if you can't, play it on the Xbox One X. The reason I say PC version is to have mods that fix a lot of bugs because you know Bethesda is Bethesda. I hope my input could help.

how is that working? morrowind mp is on my queue for games to play on my lan room with friends. we've done diablo 1 the awakening, we're currently doing diablo 2 and morrowind multiplayer is a candidate for the next game.

Extremely well! If you're playing through the vanilla game in a private server then you should have no issues. But if you try a big public server like Mal's Vanilla Morrowind then you can run into a lot of issues with the server-side scripts depending on your ping. It's well worth a bash.

An example is FSX a flight simulator for PC, the game was released in the early 2000, as hardware advanced the game never got better because it had no support for CPU multi cores making it hard to achieve higher frame rates. Same can be said for other games developed so long ago.

That Other Guy OpenMW already includes controller support, though the interface may not be viable due to technical reasons. If, for whatever reason, you need the vanilla engine, and you don't mind mapping your own controls, I would recommend using Antimicro to make a controller script. If you have an Xbox controller, I could probably make one for you in my spare time.

it was also the most head-ache inducing. i hated going to a quest and not finding the one npc that had the conversation about the quest i was at. or not being able to find well hidden doors through poorly-written instructions on the quest. i loved the hell out of this game, but i'm faily sure it's the game that gave me the largest amount of actual headaches from being lost and such.

Franco Rossel Hmm, I don't know man I'm thinking about it but it looks so dated. Like the way the sword bops the enemies repeatedly for example. How much of the enjoyment do you think is nostalgia based? For someone used to more modern games could you see this being immersive still?

I have no nostalgia for Morrowind, I played it for the first time in 2016. But I played it on PC, and mods mitigated most of the graphics problems. The combat is definitely something you have to learn, it's a D&D based with virtual dice rolls. But once you level up a little you get the hang of it pretty fast.

Outdated graphics and combat is actually a lot of fun in 2018. I just picked up Enclave on my PC and it actually looks and plays amazingly in 1080p. Both Morrowind and Enclave were released in 2002 so I may have to give Morrowind a download and play tomorrow. Especially when I've never played it. Is the combat simple? I like when it's pure basic like in Enclave.

Yes, the normal Xbox One supports backward compatibility. Just the upscaling and performance bumps won't be as drastic. The Game of the Year edition of Morrowind doesn't seem to be compatible though, so either wait for it, or have get him the basic version.

Your information is outdated... Gears 2 got the 4k enhancement update a few weeks back the same time Red Dead Redemption got it.

I'm sure you can find some 4k footage on youtube... otherwise you will see soon enough when you pop the disc it will ask for an update. It doesn't hold up as good as Gears 3 and RDR... but still great. Gears is a franchise I go back to and marathon through them all every now and then... I'm glad I can play them all in 4k now.. (except Judgement). PS.: I play Definitive Edition on PC at 4k.. for some reason I believe this one didn't get an update on the X.

You can Google comparisons of Quake II running differently on different video cards or comparisons between PC and console ports of Doom quite easily. Some people always paid attention to the quality of their entertainment.
