4種の継ぎ手の切り出し小刀を作ってみたら象嵌のように美しい接合部になった

古い鉋の刃を再利用して切り出し小刀を4本作ってみました。
以前も同じ手法で小刀を作ったことがあるのですが、他にも形が違ったものが必要になったので作ることにしました。

今回は、継ぎ手のパターンを変えてバリエーションを増やして作ってみました。
実験的にやってみたものもあるのでうまく行かなかった部分もあるのですが、最終的には形にすることができました。
基本的には彫金の象嵌の技術を使ってこの小刀は制作をしていて、異種金属を組み合わせた美しさが表現できたと思います。
※電食について
異種金属を組み合わせたことにより、電位の差によって腐食しやすい可能性があります。
今のところ、以前作った小刀は数ヶ月使用して特に錆びる様子はありません。
なので、清潔に使っていけば特に大きな問題はないのではないかと考えています。（しかし自分で使う分には良いですが、売り物にはできないですね。）
しかし、10年20年位経ったらどうなるかわかりません。
ですので、今回作った小刀は湿気の多い環境に置き続けたりしないように特に注意する必要がありそうです。

1時間半あることに気づかなかった…見入っちゃった。手作業で金属の接合を！？と思ったら、叩いて形を変えるんだね。とはいえ削った時点である程度の精度を求められそうなのにすごい。そしてこういうのってしっかり設計してそれ通りに作る精度が大事なんだと思ってたけど、カットや削りでどんどん変わっていくのを臨機応変に合わせていくものなんだというのもわかった。とくに丸棒で引っかかりを作って完成に持っていく機転に感心。結果かわいくアートっぽく仕上がってたしね。

途方も無い仕事量に根気のいる作業の繰り返し…素晴らしすぎます！日本の職人さんの作品を海外のユーザーに販売する仕事をしていますが、改めて手仕事の尊さを実感。そして、物を大切に。という気持ちも。他の動画の鑑賞も楽しみにしています。

Initially I was wondering where he got the steel from, I could tell it was high carbon due to the cut pieces sounding like Porcelain. I found a set of metal burring bits at an estate sale that were stored in an old cardboard box. as soon as I picked up the box the bits hitting each other sounded like no other bits I have ever ran into. Each of the bits was marked Japan, so I knew I had some quality bits that were over 50 years old. Such a great job. I might have to make some knives like he had made, taught me a lot.

溜め息が出るほど美しいですねぇ。特に銅で継いだものが、金銀に銅のアクセントがついて、まるで古代の祭器のようでとても美しいです。本来木工で見られる形状が金属器にあるというのも、見た人の遊び心を大いにくすぐりますね！金属加工は馴染みがないのですが、千切り継ぎの美観と金輪継ぎの機能性は木工で真似してみたいなと思いました。

Unfortunately i don’t understand Japanese. But i regret i haven’t learned the language. I learned a lot from your methodology and excellent videography. I wonder how much more i would have learned if i knew Japanese. Thank you for a great video. Keep up the good work.

If you're on your phone or PC you can click on the cc that shows on the video and then go to the settings next to the full screen button and change the cc from Japanese to English and it will translate it for you over the video automatically edit : not English but auto translate is what you'd put it to

Watched it all. Although it is beneficial to view how a Kiridashi should look like including, process of fitting it into a handle, important finer points are missed due to narration being in Japanese only. This popular video viewing could be increased by many more, if English subtitles coukd be incorporated. Great dedication in making precision tools.

I am also concerned about metal corrosion caused by joining dissimilar metals. However, so far this knife has been able to be used without rusting.

@@emkbeats8646 Металл режущей части очень маленький и по любому необходимо делать ручку, хотя бы из дерева, но он решил вот так. Так-что тут и функционал и дизайн, да и демонстрация мастерства.

初めまして、１５年前まで新潟県与板町で、鍛冶職人をやっていた者です。こんな手法で切り出しを作られるとは、驚きです！　出来栄えも、素晴らしい！この鉋、与板産かな？　焼きが『戻る』と言われていますが、正しくは『なまる』です。刃物作り工程に、ある『焼きなまし』と『焼き戻し』に通じます。

Very cool, interesting idea and masterful implementation. 01:05:00 Question. Why, in the case where there is a danger to the hands, do you not press the part with a wooden clamp, a bar, or the like?

Thanks for your comment. The reason why I work with my bare hands is that the drill bit is 1.5mm and thin, so I thought there would be no big danger. Also, I had to drill a lot of holes, so it was more efficient not to use clamps.
