Love the channel, reminds me of myself when I was younger, unfortunately age keeps on going, I will be 81 soon. I used to clear out old orchards for a good friend of mine. I always enjoyed working a chainsaw and even had a screw type wood splitter that went on the back wheel, kind of dangerous but it worked. My dad would always want to come and help me, and we did this until his health deteriorated. Now I can’t do too much but I really enjoy your videos. Take care when you are working!!

The dual wheels and the ring and pinion gear ratio differences help a lot more than you think. If both trucks were duallys and the rear end was geared the same then the test would be more interesting. Find someone with a dually 5.9 with the same rear end and try again. The ring and pinion difference can change how a truck performs night and day. The truck weight difference has less impact than you think. The best upgrade I ever did to my truck was change the ring and pinion ratio.

@danw60145 жыл бұрын
The odds are you would still be ordering a new truck with the 5.9 if the emissions weren't there. The increase in displacement was because Dodge and Cummins knew the emissions would cripple the 5.9. I have both engines. A 05, 6 speed manual and a 09 automatic and a higher gear. The 09 had a 40hp chip and emissions delete. Before the delete I would say both trucks pulled pretty close. The delete woke the 09 right up and doubled the fuel mileage. My opinion, with the delete the 6.7 is a better engine. Without the delete I would rather stay with the pre-emission 5.9.

Also I’m switching to a gas v8 probably the ram rebel or something similar to it

But owning a cummins is awesome having a loud truck when people try to back up onto the road and if they hear u they stop and wait for u to go since they probably think it’s a garbage truck or something and it’s pretty easy to maintain one too barely have to do shit but unfortunately I’m selling mine nothing is wrong with it I want something newer

6.7 is better except for all that emissions equipment. I have a 5.9 since it is easier to keep it emissions legal. Do the 2 trucks have the same rear end gears?
@VBELTandSON5 жыл бұрын
Eric L they are about 10% off but one weighs more so thought be even. But yea I agree. 6.7 needs deleted to have a chance ha

3500 single axle hang in there with the duals
@libertybarker74015 жыл бұрын
Sam Garofalo ****And its safer. dualys dont give u rear end swing which leads to jackknife&flip over You should also avoid large tires too because they bend sideways. low profile have less sideways roll.
@andrewslagle19745 жыл бұрын
once you tow hd with a dully you will never go back to a single wheel .

the following comment is from an old timer ( 73 ) maybe 800 million miles over the road. (retired at over 600 with no accidents) now i part time airfreight at a very high rate so i dont fly often. but thats ending too. jesus here i come. so here is my opinion. next

Great show, impressive and surprising performance for the 6.7L!

Great video - thank you for posting this. Given the mods to your truck (Smarty, MBRP etc.) I expect you usually tow with a higher HP program. I was wondering what program is usually in your 5.9 for towing and how that would perform pulling this load. Thank you. Bob.

V-BELT and SON I think a 3500 Dually would be better for 5th Wheel towing with the Automatic Transmission over a Stick Shift

As I own 02 with 5.9 cummins I'd put it up with the 6.7 as good of a pulling truck it has some modifications but none to drastic I tow a 32 foot tag along camper with duel slide outs an I've pull several mountains an never had any complaints ! It's a six speed manual trans stock an stock rear ends ! Great pulling truck !

Thanks for all the info. I own a small mulching business as well. I’m pulling a 15k lbs machine on a dual tandem gooseneck with a stock 1 ton. Your information is very helpful to a young mulching business owner. Just remember if you enjoy making the videos don’t pay the haters any attention. I would like to see where you guys carry tools to the job in a future video if you get the time. Greetings from South Caronlina.
