I really liked how you build your pipes and power in triangles to encapsulate your domes. I have started doing this and skipping the basic domes and it has made the game way easier in the early stages. Also it took me forever to figure out how to destroy pipes and power lines, I wish I had watched this video first.

Well you turned this semi complicated game into a fun experience ... thanks for the tips

Thank you for providing succinct tips rather than hour and half long videos of rambling like most you tubers do for grand strategy games. Just because I like games that take 6+ hours doesn’t mean I have the same patience to watch videos to learn strategies.

Paradox and making actual tutorials is a paradox in itself...

I really can't disagree more about that first tip. Probes cost 200 million each that's a huge waste of funds uness you're playing the international mars mission. If you can't find water, send some vaporators. the initial base only needs water for making fuel so they're quite enough. Once down make a sensor tower and scan for free, should find water before the dome is ready anyway and you haven't blown a couple of billion funds on probes rather than something more useful, like extra drones, or a polymer factory prefab.

So I made this awesome Colony with about 70 colonist in a oval Dome I got to about Sol 70 and then my colonist would started losing oxygen probably like 4 of them they would die even though the Dome had oxygen and other people were fine is there a reason behind this?

If you have multiple water gathering buildings stacked near each other, do they create dust on each other faster than usual?

1) If you start with a rich sponsor, you can load your first rocket with explorer, single drone and as many probes as you can. Drone will build a solar panel from metal on Mars. Explorer then can run around and scan all anomalies so you have a huge selection of techs

ASpec can you make a vid on the bare minimum needed to start a colony? i'm playing with the Church 260% plus a 475% on Olympus and I can't for the life of me find an optimized landing and i only have 1 rocket and 1 drone hub
@ronclark97246 жыл бұрын
Solution is to stay in orbit and scan each and every sector very slowly until water or whatever you wish is revealed. You can orbit forever without passengers aboard... Yes, it will seem like forever, but its better than buying another rocket you can not afford.

Tip no.2 is not true in release. When you put 2 water extractors next to each other their output is halved. You basically spend twice as much energy for the same amount of water.
@CristianoFerr6 жыл бұрын
isn´t that the moisturator?

You mean vaporators? Nope, extractors are affected as well.

I just want my buildings to not work because I need more workers and not because my electronics factory is broke down but I only have 2 stockpiled electronics and now nothing can get fixed because there are no electronics
@clefsan6 жыл бұрын
in case you are not joking... have you considered ordering more electronics from earth? If you are low on funds, there are some social-techs you can research to get money (or export rare metals, if that is a possibility for you)
@davidernesto62586 жыл бұрын
Th. K. No yeah I know, I'm just annoyed at the level of electronics I have to import, although the space elevator works wonders
@clefsan6 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on that problem. I think they should have made the maintainance cycles for stuff that uses high end resources a bit longer - or rebalance the cost of stuff (for example, buying a prefab dronehub is cheaper than buying the electronics needed to build one from scratch)
@davidernesto62586 жыл бұрын
Th. K. Yes, there would be times when I'd send rockets of only electronics even when I wasn't building a wonder just to try to keep on top of stuff while I got three other factories up and running
@ronclark97246 жыл бұрын
The most economical source is to produce the electronics on Mars instead of buying electronics from Earth. Everything is more economical being produced on Mars. Everything. The idea is to become self sufficient, not being dependent upon anything from Earth... Try playing the game at a higher level of difficulty without any cheats...
@blablubb45534 жыл бұрын
One tip that I would have loved to know before I started using ridiculous amounts of solar panels to power pretty much anything: The Stirling Generator does never degrade and thus never needs maintenance, as long as you do not open it. It says in the build menu that maintenance costs polymers, and you don't really have a lot of these at the start... but as long as stirling generators stay closed, they are pretty much the only energy generating building in game that never needs maintenance.

Paradox definitely had their B-team on this one. Not even comparable in polish to cities skylines, very bad user interface experience here even by paradox standards.
@dzejrid6 жыл бұрын
Sadly I have to agree. Was very excited for this game, but once I bought it and played couple of hours it's just "meh". Not really a proper city builder nor a survivaval nor a manager...
@Wustenfuchs1096 жыл бұрын
You do understand the difference between a publisher and a developer? PDX only published this game, the developer was Haemimont games from Bulgaria (Tropico 3, 4, 5, Imperium Romanum...). Cities Skylines was also not developed by PDX but by Colossal Order from Finland. The games that Paradox develops and publishes can easily be recognized by a few dozen DLCs within the first year of the release that push the price of a game beyond your standard AAA full priced game. Things like CK2, EU4, HoI4, Stellaris and so on. Paradox Interactive just publishes some games others make.
@sn29676 жыл бұрын
Typical Paradox. The "real" game won't be released until all the "dlc" is finally available 2 years from now.
@rockcabbage6 жыл бұрын
If they're going to make you pay $20 for a functional UI that would be grounds to not buy this game at all, or refund if it's too late. I think this was just a rare miss in Paradox's otherwise stellar library, probably were looking to cash in on all of the mars hype going around right now, and to get some more value out of their cities skylines engine.
@sn29676 жыл бұрын
This game has a terrible beginner "tutorial". I understand that they wanted it to feel like a survival game...but I shouldn't have to "survive" their convoluted menu system.
@MrDainemudda6 жыл бұрын
Dude that game is pure garbage! I saw better and deeper mobile apps, especially for 40 eurobucks. I am happy I could force a late refund out of steam. If you play on high speed you can easily manage to squeeze out one run in 2 hours bc there is simply nothing to do compared to tropico or city skylines. It should be called snoozing mars, no tension beside limited gameplay and a lack of useful mechanics. Honestly every dead colonist is just a manifest of ones own incompentency. It's too easy to get like 100 drones, 50 plus colonist and half the techtree and a self sufficient basic economy after an hour, so every crisis becomes just a boring micromanagment orgy ... so you can't even trust youtubers nowadays... I am seriously considering to unsubscribe, despite loving your content and being a paradox fanboy myself - but this turdfest?
@JCeci-hx3fq6 жыл бұрын
well said ....I didn't get the refund damn it

Yeah, but no... where I am living they are actually cracking down on torrenting pretty hard... they got my brother, my flatmate, couple friends etc... so yes, lessons learned... always wait at least until after the weekend when everybody managed to got some playthroughs... surviving mars fell pretty hard regarding reviews 67% as of saturday...

MegaTheftV yeah but most of the time those are insanely slow and unstable... I need to admit I didn't do stuff like this for a long time now, since I earn money basically. I don't mind the money actually, but what I mind is accidentally supporting shady business practices. Do the stuff with cars, phones, contracts and you have got a class action lawsuit on you in no time. But towards gamers? "Hit me with that sweet overpriced DLC, bro!"
@Jehosaphet5 жыл бұрын
Even on max speed, there's no way you can play as fast as you claim. I get that you don't like it, but that's a mighty heavy-handed exaggeration you threw down there.
