What are the best neighborhoods to live in London? The multicultural English Capital is one of the best places to be at. Yes, I am talking about London. London has a lifestyle of its own. It is one of the most famous and vibrant cities in Europe. The city is known for its limitless possibilities that can help you to make your dreams come true. So, if you are thinking about moving to London or are planning a visit to the city, it is important to arrange a place for yourself to stay. Rentals are usually high in the city and it is divided into zones therefore choosing a residence can get tough. Following are some of the best areas to stay in London that offers you the best lifestyle the city has.
1. Camden
Did you know that Camden Town is named after Earl Camden, a famous English lawyer and a politician of the 18th century? Situated northwards from St Pancras, the only international train station in the city, Camden falls amongst one of the most energetic and liveliest neighborhoods in all of North London. It is well-known for its full of go markets, Canalside eateries, and pulsating art scenes that would drown you into their beauty. With being just 2.5 miles from the charring cross, it is a home for various service sector industries such as retail, entertainment, and tourism. The area is a hub for street markets and music venues. It would not be wrong to say that some of the best live music venues of London such as Electric Ballroom and Roundhouse are situated in Camden. It has earned a reputation for itself as a cultural hub due to its rich artistic activities. Resultantly, you would see young and creative individuals rushing down the streets of Camden, working their way towards fulfilling their dreams. If you are someone who appreciates art and food, Camden is a must-visit place in London.
Access to the area is fairly easy as it has multiple overground and underground train lines connecting it to the city center. Accommodation in the area comes at various price points. You can start from as low as a one-bedroom apartment and go as high as large exclusive area houses on Primrose Hill. While the average price point is relatively high making rentals a little more expensive, you can find affordable places in adjacent neighborhoods such as Chalk Farm, Kentish Town, or Barnsbury that are just a few minutes walks.
2. North Greenwich
With the combination of a lavish community, lively social places, and state-of-the-art architecture North Greenwich is a neighborhood that you want to be in. It not only offers a truly modern lifestyle but also provides its residents with a multivariate cultural experience. The regeneration of the Greenwich Peninsula has made it the center of conversation for various real-estate buyers. Situated in between the O2 complex and the glass-fronted Tube Station, North Greenwich encapsulates numerous high-rise buildings, world-class cafes, restaurants, and retail outlets. A view opening up to the banks of River Thames and an environment as such keeps the locals active and joyous.
The urban lifestyle of the area is ideal for young professionals and businessmen that are looking for a residence that is both modern and easy to access. The tube station allows for an easy commute, to and from the area. In addition to this, if you are a frequent flyer, the London City Airport is also a short drive away. Although most accommodations in the area are apartment based you can find yourself family-friendly homes in older Greenwich which is just around the corner.
3. Putney
If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city center, Putney might be a place to consider. It is a suburb located in South West London along the banks of the River Thames. Being an ancient parish that covers a land area of 9.11 square kilometers the area has a rich cultural heritage. It features multiple locally operated stores alongside a few international chains that fulfill most if not all the needs of its residents. It also has a number of bars and pubs to keep the people entertained. Moreover, the area is home to some of the most popular walking and running trails of the city.
