My most profitable hand is any hand where there has been no bet on the flop and the turn comes to me without a bet. At that point if I bet a mere two BB's I'm going to win 85% of the time.

I don't understand why you emphasized on A7 suited, specifically.. That's actually not that great a hand. First of all, chances of landing the flush draw are still highly unlikely, and secondly, every other ace high hand beats it. It's not a high enough kicker to beat out other kickers, and it's not low enough to make a low straight draw. As well, suited gap hands like the one you mentioned, can land you in serious trouble. Especially at a full ring table, low numbered flush cards, are usually beat out. Unless I'm looking at a 10 or better, preferably a Broadway high card, I don't follow in too deeply. I've had a single day where I've seen queen high flush beat out by King high flush, king flush to ace flush, and ace high flush to a boat, and lost 2 boats, to better boats. So, I personally keep my eyes peeled for pairing on the board, when they bet big, and Ive got the nut flush draw.... As well, any flush hand with a high card should be the goal, the gap makes no real difference, except with hope of obtaining a straight. I have a question for you.. Are straights more likely, or flush draws? Statistics state that straights are more likely, but keep in mind that the wagers in betting, takes out lower ranges... Which for me, explains why I see far more flush draws, than straights.. Just my 2 cents.

I've found very good success with keeping my hand range exactly the same in all positions. What I do change is the amount I'm willing to pay to see the flop depending on position and opponent's bets. Basically my single range for all positions is a very loose jacks or higher suited with anything, all pairs, all aces, and finally no 2-6 in any other hands. That brings me up to about 45-50% vpip which works well for me most of the time as I am very "fold friendly". I like to see as many flops as possible as cheaply as possible and that means allowing my vpip to be very high. Yeah it is working quite well. I only lose my stack when I play big hands poorly which is getting to be less and less frequent as I gain more experience. Black Rain's vids have helped me tremendously. We all must find our own way based on our own inclinations as they intersect our own experiences. ..

@@MrDavePed Yeah, I hear that. I've actually switched recently to just 6 player tables, and have had more success. I'll play more tightly in cash games, but tournaments require more loose play. Thus far, I've won 9 out of about 30 tournaments in min cash positions or better, which I think is a very good win rate. I'm an amateur, only 3 months playing for money. So, I do respect what the pros gotta say, at the same time, I see how a lot of them play... Players at the microstakes, play better than a lot of pros... I've seen some amazing maneuvers from low stake players for sure. Blackrain has a lot of good basic information. I also watch Johnathan Little, and Daniel Negreanu's videos, for more intricate plays. I'm starting to think that poker, really is more luck than skill, with statistics backing that up. Luck doesn't actually always pan out like they say for everyone, it wouldn't exist, otherwise. The skillful plays help out regardless. I'm just starting to think thou, that there may be some loopholes in GTO strategy. As well, online poker is supposedly mostly hackable, thanks to most poker sites, using seed based rng's. From what I've read, the only good site is PokerStars, which uses an actual quantum based rng technique. Making it the only true rng... So, the online poker world as far as I can tell, is seeming kind of shifty, overall, as of lately.

In all fairness I do think it depends on the player I can imagine some people over value baby pocket pairs, while others undervalue them. Also depends on the table too how valuable they are.

@Jelliot yes. That's why he needs to be a bit more in depth. Here he says you want to see cheap flops with baby pocket pairs. That is accurate. But in the previous video he just says amateurs should stop playing them. I think if he would have said amateurs should stop over valuing baby pocket pairs instead he would have been correct.

it's because he kinda says the same things over and over again in every video without going in depth so you still have a reason to buy his courses. If you pay attention when he says you shouldn't play small pocket pairs he just says you shouldn't overplay them. When he says you should play them, he says you should only play them strongly when you hit a set. So it's basically the same info said in 2 ways. The truth is that microstakes are really hard to make profitable. If you look at the numbers he provides, you have to play 5 million hands to earn an average US salary, and that's only achievable with high skill, high discipline, high focus and high number of hours. So it doesn't really give you all that freedom, and on top of that , it's risky as well because you can go on a losing streak if you break your focus. On the other hand, selling courses is much more profitable especially if you pump up regular videos on a decently large channel to advertise. He basically went from digging for gold, hard and risky work, to selling shovels, guaranteed easy profit as long as there's a gold rush going on.

Im guessing he said baby suited connectors, not pocket pairs. I think you got confused there.

I think it depends alot on the action at the table. Some games are tight, and it's alot of heads up play, I dont care to place A-rag in that situation, even if it's suited. But if the table is playing loose, with lots of players in the pots, I can get proper odds to chase flushes, and then suited ace rag has more value. In general, I agree with you, A rag is just going to get me in trouble. Sounds like he likes to chase flushes.
