Great content. Thanks Nathan. 🙏🏻 #1: I can see situations where villain calls PF with AJ, KJ, QJ and possibly J9 suited, calls the flop bet with top pair decent kicker, checks back the turn for pot control vs overpairs, then bombs the river when the second J hits.

Point number 2. It makes sense to raise a T on this flop for protection against higher turn and river cards. Especially if it's raised pre, original raiser isn't going to have a lot of hands containing a T. That means they are charging you for your AK, AQ, AJ and other Ax holdings, as well as seeking to fold out lower pocket pairs.

for #5 I actually do this only when I'm strong. I started a poker livestream journey called "I'm a Fish on Tilt!" and have been reading a bunch from your website and free books. Since you recommended betting 1/2 - 3/4 pot if you connect with the board, esp. top pair+, I'm always ready to fire off a bet immediately. Mostly because I'm just sticking to the gameplan and not thinking. Which is probably why people have been calling! So I guess it's a happy accident? XD

This is my weakness. I can never seem to call when they keep blasting.. times I feel I made bad folds but when I do call, I’m up against over pairs. Times I think they have AK, it’s aces or kings. I think online just reward donkeys

I've noticed that in the micro streets a lot of players will try to trap with their nutted hands to eventually get frustrated that it was checked down. They then just jam all-in on the river to "catch up" or something. I almost never call a big random bets on the river because I've been burned like this too many times.

For #5 I'd say that if they are betting quick from oop and you call. What they do next will tell you more than anything. If they bet quick again but it's small it's likely a bluff. If they size up the bet considerably they probably have something good but they are afraid (AA, KK, QQ, ect.) If they check they were probably bluffing and want to see what you do. #4 this one is pretty accurate. Big bets in this spot usually mean they have 2nd or 3rd pair and want to get you off a better pair with a bad kicker. #3 this one is 50/50. You can't always count on tilt because a smart player will use that against you. Example. I was playing live poker one day and I got set over set and flush over flush all within a few minutes of each other. I was visibly upset and vocal about it. Then I flopped a straight and I knew people were thinking I was tilted so I jammed hoping for some calls. Sadly the worst possible person on the table called OMC. Once the OMC called everyone else folded. But if OMC hadn't called I know at least 2 others were going to call me. They had chips in their hands ready to go but put them back in their stack when omc called. #2 it depends on the pre-flop action. A lot of the time in that spot they just have a strong ace and want to buy the pot without any struggle. But be ware of over pairs. #1 if the story stinks its probably a bluff.

on the last point, 10D /JD does in fact fit well inside the range, as does 10/10 or A/J There are plenty of hands that absolutely dominate you that a player might slow play.

the games i play, the lower stacks in poker stars. they only bet with the nuts, rarely someone comes and play aggressively, if someone is bluffing there or he will get folded or will loose to the nuts holder. how should i play this games, i see the tricky limpers making good money, but i dont want to be like this, i want to be the player who dominates the table either nutted or not. by the way thanks for your videos, its of great help

Nr 5 is not true in online poker. Most people play fast without overthinking because they are multitabling and want to play as many hands as possible.. They only take some time for really big decisions.

Most of them only if you play against recreational fish... the last example is the best of all, and it only works if you don't allow them to limp and see the flop. If they limp, they could have anything.... My opinion. 😅

I have absolutely no idea why this came up in my feed, but poker players have an entire vocabulary onto their own it seems. I guess that's the same in a lot of ventures. My profession, software engineering, is rife with buzzwords and phrases that if you aren't in that space it can sound like gobbledygook. I have been watching Boetz sisters in chess - that is definitely a past time of mine (playing chess - not watching the sisters :D ) - and I think one of them was in a poker tournament? I think that's why I'm getting these suggested now. Oh well, down the KZfaq Poker rabbit hole I go! :D Thanks for the video!

It's also worth to note that while poker is primarily a skill game (with some element of chance), but it's also very much a social engineering game. You have to be spot on with your social cues to be successful at this game it seems. You also have to be good at social engineering - giving out tells that you want instead of the ones you don't want.

Hey Bitwise, I agree and it is a big problem in poker training these days. I work hard in my videos to explain basic terms (although I know I miss some). I think it is important to understand that for many beginners terms like "3-bet" or "balancing your range" are not obvious. And so my goal is to try to explain those as often as possible in my videos. Thanks for watching.

Im sorry but on #5 you would never ever considef that the player has pocket 10s and they are sat with with quad 10s???? I would be raising quickly on quad 10s!!!! I was taught to play 5card stud if theres 3 cards on the table and 2 in the hand and someone raises you what is the best hand available? Your AK is worthless. Too many people forget that you have play the person as much as the cards.
