I love how the riff for Black Sabbath looks so complicated when it's tabbed like this
@s1nd3rr0z324 күн бұрын
Whoever made the tab should've just put a trill symbol on it because it just looks silly

The amazing part is you could add like 20 more riffs to this video and they’d all easily be A+ riffs from sabbath. Iommi is the goat.

U could probably add 50 or more tbh. Iommi is the greatest riff maker of all time and I’ll b honest it’s not even close.
@56JKL14 күн бұрын
@@qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm3937 you’re absolutely right. Many would say Jimmy Page but honestly, they’re not even in the same ballpark for me. Iommi riffs are just DISGUSTING in the best possible way. Even songs like under the sun, or newer songs from The Devil You Know. Another one of my favorites is falling off the edge of the world. They’re just undeniable man.

Good 'ol Sabbath. 🥰🥰 A great example of a band that was not the most technical in their field, but they knew exactly what every song needed And are some of the few musicians I can think of who were genuine genre-bending game changers trying something absolutely nobody had tried at that point. I'm no guitar expert, but I would call all of these riffs intermediate, they aren't as easy as, say, the Ramones discography, but you'll have a much easier time learning these riffs than you would, say, the majority of Metallica's discography. These guys were the true creators of metal and I hope guitarist continue to learn these riffs for decades to come!

Fun fact: Tony Iommi based the iconic “Black Sabbath” riff on part of Gustav Holst’s “Planets” suite, a series of orchestral pieces written during World War 1 which also inspired many other rock bands and movie soundtracks

Actually it was Geezer Butler, he was playing Mars on his bass, and then Tony took Mars and made the riff from it
