This video, I break down the 5 most common mistakes I see from Mewtwo players, and offer insight on how to overcomes these habits. Hope you enjoy!

Mistake #0: Complaining about Mewtwo's weaknesses and sending death threats to Daddy Sakurai over more Mewtwo buffs.

@@cowspawnerthecringeworthy7815 Sure he's good but what he needs isn't buffs. He needs a fix, cause his tail janks him out and puts him in too many "accidents". Of course, harassing Sakurai for the fix isn't acceptable

I've never seen Mewtwos try and combo out of grounded Confusion; if anything, our problem is spamming aerial Confusion before 140% to the same result and then desperately fishing for Confusion-fair afterwards.

i think there’s two things missing in the video, which basically everyone who talks about Mewtwo also neglects, which are: 1- spamming N-air, it is a great move indeed but people tend to spam it and it becomes easy to call out 2- underuse of dash attack; that’s a very good move, can be an awesome chase option with shadow ball and can also start combos

I actually really enjoy the video I am not a Mewtwo main but the things you were talking about are really helpful for just playing in general like the ledge option mix up or like with disabled, using your move at the right time and not just whenever you feel like.

helpful info this. Knowing when to get aggressive is a huge help. Keep it in reserve for when you're pushing the opponent or when you're being out ranged and need to close the distance. also WHY WOULD ANYONE NOT USE SHADOW BALL!? Seriously, it's a combo starter, a safe use for keeping the opponent off stage, a finisher and oh the mind games you can play. Keep one charged and in reserve for half a stock and the foe will often be surprised when it gets shoved at them point blank. So useful!

A mistake I notice a lot (and make a lot) is getting greedy offstage and getting your double jump stolen by a down air or footstool or something stupid like that because of how slow it is, and not being able to recover because of it

I was coming here hoping I do a few of these mistakes so I learn something new, but I don't really do these so much :/ I guess I'm doing more uncommon mistakes maybe? I'm still far from good... anyways, the video was great!

Yeah I really see myself in #4 and have to calm myself down sometimes. Especially when I‘m losing and getting tilted.

Very good advice for players who want to learn mewtwo. When was a newbie with him I was good with him cuz he fit my play style but I definitely did a lot that u listed😂

I barely study but I think shadow ball is awesome, I think it's the best way to take stocks cause it can combo or even just conditions shield and then you get a free grab

The only one i do is the landing one but even then im correcting it One thing i used to struggle with was playing too passive playing scared and not pushing advantage state

Shadow ball is pretty flashy in my opinion. Probably the funnest copy ability for Kirby.

Definitely a big victim of #1, I feel like how to get out of certain opponent's combos in somewhat matchup dependent? Minus jabs, I definitely feel locked into a combo sometimes and like my DI doesn't matter but know this isn't true. I also spam jab and grounded shield way too much, oof

I dont necessarily know if its common, but I as a mewtwo player will often dash back instead of roll when i get a safe hit on shield or something and mewtwos tail/hurtbox is way larger and more exposed to out of shield options and landing options than a simple roll is

My worst habit is using teleport where a roll should do fine. I use it more than shield.

Wait people use grounded confusion? I've always just used down tilt as my go-to ground to ground spacing tool unless they really like to sit in shield.

I'm agree with the necessity to use Shadow Ball to play Mewtwo to its full potential. But saying Mewtwo without Shadow Ball is easily a bottom 10 character is overly exaggerated . He has a ton of average, good moves. The thing is, all Mewtwo's moves are made to work better with Shadow Ball. This is why it's central in his gameplay. But even without using it the character isn't that bad.

All of these sounds like things I don’t do.(Except the aggressive part) But I still suck at Mewtwo in General. Whenever I play Mewtwo everyone becomes a genius

Yeah honestly my problem is adjusting to the matchups. Being a bait and punish character only works if you know what to bait and punish.

A lot of the time it's easier to play a proactive character than a reactive one especially when you're playing against a 80 different characters with different things to look out for. I think making sure your punish game is on point is critical. Make sure your doing down tilt to nair at low percent and look for the grab or nair extension. You can get a lot of damage off one down tilt if you practice

That terrible M2 Upsmash. Ugh might as well be marth's upsmash. Ppl say his tail needs a hurtbox because it is visibly there. How about M2's upsmash have more range because it visual HAS MORE RANGE.
