I'm inline skating since April 2023. Doing a lot of exercises to improve my balance. Inline skating is such fan! I've also noticed that I have pronation on my right foot. This season I'm doing to work hard on correcting it. What I've seen in one of the videos of Asha Kirkby from Skatefresh (btw, I highly recommend her videos on KZfaq, I've learned so much from her) is that we need to control position of our knees. When we push knee to the outside, then there will be no pronation. Happy skating! ☺️

Asha is such a great teacher. After trying her tips, my pronation is almost gone! Hope yours has gotten better, too!

Pretty good video. You are making great progress. I really wish I was recording myself when I first started skating. I can tell you even watching my own videos from August till today I have made a lot of progress. If I was able to watch myself skating from 2 years ago I would be amazed at the progress I made. Keep up the good work. The pronated comment, I am guessing your right leg is your better leg? I think people tend to pronate it more on the leg they are primarily using to push most of their weight with.

I appreciate your feedback. You're probably right about my pronation actually, my right foot is my dominant foot!! It makes sense now!

In general, going down hill you should have one foot in front and one in the back (same as when you were practicing your scissors). You'll be more balanced this way and you feel more in control to give you the confidence to go faster down hill. It also allows you easier transition to carving down hill since that's the position your feet needs to be in. If you want to carve to the right, then your right foot needs to be in front and you put your weight on your front foot while push with your back foot. Also, want to add that the one foot forward and one foot backward stance is not for just for down hill. That's the most stable stance for inline skating since you're more likely to fall forward or backward.

Such great progress-! Well done and omg your awareness is on point- you're going to continue growing in big strides because of the way you're reflecting (which I'm sure you know ahah) Looking forward to where you go from here!

Nice it seems like we both started inline skating during the same time frame even though my progress is not the same as yours this sparks some motivation in me to keep pushing myself. Quick question did you go through any foot pain when you first started?
@shannon.skates4 ай бұрын
That's rad we started around the same time! The most important thing is having fun and connecting with your inner child 🫶🏼 To answer your Q--yes! I had a lot of foot pain the first 3-4 days of breaking my skates in

You asked for tips on the outside edge, don't know if you have nailed it down since this video was a couple of months ago, but what you have to do is be really low, lean your body towards the side you want to get the edge on (so for your right foot outside edge, be low and learn towards the right), your body will try to autocorrect because it feels like u are going to fall, but its not the case, start gradually and you'll find u are there.

im going to try this, i feel like i have to mentally fight my body to stay leaned... its like a trust fall
