Another great video. In my 10 years of mixing and watching thousands of KZfaq tutorials, not once have I heard about Q=1,4 equals an octave. What a fantastic tip. Maybe you should do a short video about yourself and your background. It would be very interesting for your followers. You have amazing knowledge 😊

I'm now holding my breath when you post a new video: I know I'm going to learn something new and fantastic, I just hope I don't have to re-organize my entire mixing protocol too much as your insights are such game changers. LOL Many thanks again.

Great episode! I knew about EQing in tune, and how it can be used with, or instead of Auto tune, but I hadn't put two and two together and actually used it as a normal day to day EQing practice. I'll be very interested to go back through my mixes and seeing how my cuts and boosts stack up! It makes perfect sense to do it that way, I don't know why I haven't been doing it all along! Thanks heaps!

@@AudioMountain777 No worries, and thank you for the great tutorials. You might notice that I often leave several comments on the one video. I do this not only to express myself as I'm watching, but mostly, to help with the algorithm. As much as I appreciate a reply, don't feel like you have to respond to each one, I just talk too much! 😁

Sorry, just one more thing. Don’t mean to be a pest and I may be misunderstanding what you are saying, but for clarities sake, the flat five or sharp four of C would be Gb or F#. The G#/Ab in the key of C would either be a sharp five or flat 6, depending on how it is spelled. Am I misunderstanding what you are saying? Either way, thanks so much for making all the videos you do. They are very interesting subjects and go into more depth than most of the mixing videos I have seen. I subscribed after the 1st video I saw of yours about 8 months ago. Take care!

Wow, I can't believe I missed that. I did all those cuts at the flat 6th and I meant to do them at the flat 5th. Thanks for catching that! I will post a correction. Oh well, flat 6ths are also very dissonant, and it sounded pretty good 😂

I never thought about boosting 9:11 frequencies that are in the key of the song. Very interesting idea. A question - I hear the vocals being in the key of C blues or Cm rather than C major. Would that change which frequencies you would want to boost and cut? Thanks!
@AudioMountain777
@AudioMountain777 4 ай бұрын
Yes, but only if your boosting at the frequency of the 3rd, in which case you would want to boost at the minor 3rd. Great question! I'll go into more detail about this in the next Q&A on Patreon. Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the videos!
