Hey just curious I got a 335D recently and been looking into tuners I see people mention DUDMD a lot but on his site it only has a Stage 1 and says We do not offer EGR - DPF - DEF disable/delete/bypass tuning. Is the Stage 2 still offered I'm planning on doing a full emissions delete.

@@himmelhero I reached out to DUDMD this week and was informed that they do not offer delete tunes anymore. It seems that they stopped shortly after tuning my car.

$4200 no my 2017 F350 has a leak in the DPF and ford wants over $5000 to fix it. It cost under 3k to put it on a full diet guess which route I’m going.

I believe that you are going to still need a tune if you want to the egr block off plate since it will throw codes.

Ok so what's the very first mod that I should look into doing?

I did the swirl flap delete and cleaned my intake while it was out. Then I bought a jbd but it wasn't a big difference, it did help it at the top of rpm range so now it just keep pulling instead of kinda dying off after 4000 rpm. Recently flashed my transmission with the xhp stage 3 and I'm really loving how it drives now. It's a lot smoother in drive and gives you a nice firm shift in Sport and there's no more automatic up shift in manual mode anymore which means some pretty awsomeee burnouts and slides with all the torque that comes with our cars.

@@y8080it's have happened in that time. On my 3rd. My first I hydroplaned in a sudden thunderstorm doing like 45. Totalled. That car was 38t bo and 480tq averaging 36mpg. Then I got another but an Msport. Had ABC deletes, a JR2.9 tune, a trans tune, custom exhaust, b12 bilsteins and m3 suspension. Daughter snuck it out an wrecked it. Had 400+hp and 600+tq and 0-60 in 3.9 sec. Insurance eventually came thru at double what I paid. Now u have a 2016 535d Msport and am planning another tune. My friend's son got a 14 535d and took it to Kassel and it rips like my first 335d, but NOTHING compares to my 2nd one. It's completely worth it.

Yes I'm excited to own one I own a stage 2 bmw 120d xdrive with 283ps but I feel as though it would be a waste to carry on upgrading this when a stage 1 335d pushes 340-370 bhp with just a pdf removal and a egr delete plus a ECU remap I feel as though it's a no brainer

I thought I answered this! There are quite a few shops that are very good, let me know if you want me to talk about them. NY doesn't do sniff testing, and I'll be changing my plates over to a more car friendly state anyway

FlyinGato okay, I took my 335d to a guy. He plugged his computer to the car, told me about codes that never popped up before and he said he tuned it in and all I have to do is do the downpipe install and I'll be good. True? Or what do you think?.

If all you do is plug it you don't necessarily have to tune it, though it's recommended that you do. I would just do the full delete and tunes

haha, the 335i can be much faster with bifgger turbos etc... there's a higher performance limit with that gas engine. But for daily driver/highway cruiser status, 335d is hard to beat ☺️️☺️️☺️️

FlyinGato yeah mine was fbo -fmic but +meth running the jb4/race BEF. I miss the "solidness" of the Bimmer as well, had 148k and it didn't have a single creak/rattle and doors all still shut solid, etc. My 6th gen Accord with 180k rattles all over the place and has for quite some time but so far the CivicX is still solid.

It only smokes a lot when it needs to spin the wheels, it doesnt smoke that much when you rev it in manual

Haha, yeah. I didnt fully understand what the mod what until I found some more info shortly after asking that question. So the legality "doesnt matter" as long as you don't have diesel emissions testing in your state. Turns out i'm in one of the unlucky 9. Would you say this vehicle is then a poor choice? How practical is it to "undo" the mods for the emissions test, and then redo them? I see some are easy, others I don't know. And even if it were stock, would this thing even pass?

Hopefully not going to irritate you. So, it seems that as long as the emissions test does not involve a sniffer/tailpipe test, this car would still pass with ABD delete + BPC tune. Is that correct? It would seem to me this car outputs so much smog that even if the computer said OK, the tester would still be.. concerned

It'll pass any obd readiness test, and a quick visual too, but it won't pass a closer inspection. I honestly think it's the best BMW ever made after the mods. Not annoyed, btw, just very principled, freedom being one of my main principles

It looks beautiful and the performance for the money seems impressive as well. I was in love with this until I saw WI did diesel emissions testing, and now I'm sad If they just do an OBD2 test (which it appears to be the case in Wisconsin, and most everywhere else), why do people on forums seem concerned about it? Or am I missing something really obvious? I'm not a car enthusiast (yet) so I might be missing something very obvious. By closer inspection, that would mean a sniff test, right? All the parts are standard 330d m sport , the job takes around 9 hrs to complete on a 2 post lift. if you decide to do it make sure you get the right box there are 2 , you need the one with the starter under the inlet manifold, or at 1 o'clock as you look at the bell housing from the front. some of the gearbox x members are different so you need the one for your year of car. you also need a 330d manual diff and propshaft to get the correrct gearing, a 335 has 2.81 diff the 330d has a 2.35 , only the 330d and 325d have that diff and thats the 1 to have if you don't want higher rpm on the motorway. Its all straight forward bolt on stuff, clutch line is i bit of a pain if you're rhd and easy if lhd. you need to wire in the clutch pedal switch, 1 earth one power from cas @ pin 3, 1 back to cas @ pin 41, then 1 to dme or dde to cancel the cruise control so it doesn't rev it balls off if you dip the clutch. you can get the clutch switch coded out if you want to be lazy, but it's nice to have things working as they should. Then get the car coded so it knows it's a manual ie all the auto codes removed from the modules,so it no longer looks for the auto box signal when you turn the ignition on , and add manual codes. you can find a lot of info on the net as to wiring the clutch pedal and reversing lights , but be careful a lot of people talk a lot of fucking shit on those forums. good luck!!

FlyinGato No. They absolutely don't. When you pull your intake manifold off you'll see they are not the thin pivot design. The only thing that can happen in very high mileage (200K+) cars is the pivot spindle bushing can wear and create a minor leak causing incorrect map reading. You'd see the leak as blow-by residue outside the pivots. Use an inspection mirror. The only option then is blank them or replace the whole manifold. The swirl flaps do a job. Ditto the egr. The engine is designed to run with the egr and blanking it completely upsets the carefully engineered & designed engine combustion.

FlyinGato Removing your swirl flaps will affect throttle response and low throttle torque.

Well I can't confirm the swirl flap delete is absolutely needed, it's worth doing just for peace of mind, don't want any issues down the road. As for the EGR, it serves two purposes, first is to heat up the engine quickly by using the exhaust gasses, and reduce emissions. The downside is that it'll cake the intake runners and valves full of soot, requiring a periodic walnut blasting at around 1200 dollars. Not worth it...

FlyinGato In these engines the valves hardly ever get the sooted up. Maybe the US diesel is lower quality but after 120,000 miles I cleaned one for it's first time recently. The egr was still fine and clear and hardly any residue while the intake manifold certainly had a coating inside but just required soaking and washing. Not a hard job.

I understand it's suspension, chassis, special engine etc. But given the choice, 335d is better than the M3 in so many ways
