I haven’t done a dread extension styling video in forever, so here’s one about some of the different buns I do! I’m not the best at explaining/demonstrating things (which is why I don’t do many tutorials :p), but I hope this was followable and made sense. Thank you to @chelzmarr on insta for requesting this a few weeks ago!

Lemme know which one was your fav! And idk how it is for you guys, but for me my hair always looks great on the first try whenever I don’t care but takes like 3 tries to get it right when I’m getting ready to go out (or filming a tutorial lol). Does anyone else struggle with this too?? Tell me I’m not the only one haha

Oh gosh the double buns was the worst to do with my normal hair it take me sometimes like 4 or 5 times to do it right but for the question i like the reverse squid its pretty and look fluffy

I don’t even have dreads but I love watching your dread vids cause I learn so much stuff about dreads and can now appreciate them on others even though it’s not something I’d personally go for.

I don’t wear fake dreds but my actual hair is a similar length to the dreds she is wearing and I often wear my hair in kinda box braids and/or corn rows so this helps sooooooo much❤️

Knight of Doom you should really try it if you can. I wish I had a job that accepted my extensions so I could get them back. I was a bit afraid in the past but after the first try i just fell in love with the fun of having millions of options of hair. Installing and taking care of your extensions may seem hard berofe you get used to, but the results are really satisfying.

Make your own.. It’s what I did... Get some kanekalone hair and a handheld steamer, watch some KZfaq vids on how to do it and you’re good to go. It’s honestly not hard at all... just time consuming lol

Such a good vid! Honestly you did a really good job of demonstrating that even though these are pretty easy techniques you need to put a little bit of care into them and a little practice to get them looking perfect if you're after an absolute perfect look, personally I really like the slightly messy look and you were able to show that off as well! With the last style of the pig tail buns I reckon I'd twist the second bun the opposite way as the first, it'd probably end up being trickier to get them aligned without practice but I think the symmetrical effect would look really nice. High five!

I think the pigtail buns came out differently because you twisted them both in the same direction. I think if you twist and wrap the right bun to the right, and twist and wrap the left bun to the left you'll get better results :)

So this is the first time I seek outside help on how to tie my dreads, and I see that I've actually been doing it more or less the way you're doing it(first way with my own twist haha), so that makes me feel kinda better about myself not looking like a complete mess for the past 4.5 years lol Anyway, the 4th style is what I've been kinda wanting to learn to do since forever but not taking the time to look at tutorials(I'm super lazy). So what I wanna say is, thanks! I've seen a couple of tutorials but yours is by far the shortest, simplest, and just the best-looking one!

I have real dreadlocks, they are pretty long, and heavy too. But i have to say, i tried at least once every style you did here, in this 2+ years of my dreadlock journey. With some minor adjustment, they work! Love your videos, i'm always interested to see the difference and the similiarities between "fake" and real dreadss. Also, like you as a person ❤ big big love from italy!

I liked #3 best, glad to finally see how that's done :D At the moment, my dreads are a bit too short for that, but that's definetly the way I'll wear them the most in a year or so :D I don't know, I just love that style. Kinda reminds me of an egyptian crown or something

Nice! My dreads are getting long and it's getting hot so I need them off my neck and back more often! I like the first one and the reverse of it (#4) the most. Then again I'm a guy so I don't see myself doing the Princess Leia-esque double bun etc. ;p

I actually tried out style #4 and must admit, it didn‘t work for me at all. I have all natural dreads on my head and they are just too heavy, too stiff and way too many to have them in this... inverted style. Sad though, because I reaaaaally like how it turned out for you and I always do the first style. Still looking for some cool other styles I can go with, but I‘m afraid I don‘t have many options. Anyway, really nice video, loved the music in the background ^^

Are you planning on getting extensions? Or locking up your own hair? I think having getting faux dreads gives you a bit of an idea on how to style them and a bit of an idea on care and upkeep, so id recommend trying them. Honestly just go for it! 💕
