I’m torn between the new 36mm Explorer and the new Submariner…do you think it wears ok for smaller wrists? I could just about pull off the previous 40mm but I hear the new version doesn’t wear bigger as the lugs are more tapered.

@@rezar6894 there is a huge difference in the size of the new sub and the new Explorer. The Explorer is tiny. Honestly it looks like a ladies watch. It’s actually closer to 35mm, not 36 like Rolex advertises. The sub, on the other hand, is only about 40 1/2 mm but it wears more like a 42mm on wrist. I own both the 124060 sub and the previous 39mm Explorer. I have a 6 3/4 in wrist and I prefer the fit of the Explorer.

Where about are you in Canada?

One AD in Melbourne, Australia told me it’s be a 10 year wait. And they call it a Wish List and not the Waiting List.

I am also torn between the Sub and the new 36mm Explorer. After a few months of owning the Explorer do you have any regrets? Hard decision for me as I know the submariner feels like more of an icon but I know the 36mm Explorer would wear much better ….

@@rezar6894 Absolutely ZERO regrets, best decision I made. I’m coming up on a year and I have no desire to buy anything else. There isn’t a situation that I’d choose another watch over this, so it’s still my Explorer 124270, NASA G-Shock, Garmin, and h.s. graduation gift (Citizen - only worn once a year or so).

But I guess the steel is just super versatile… I am currently torn between a 36mm blue dial datejust with jubilee bracelet, new Sub and the new Explorer. I think the Explorer probably wears the smallest of even the date just. Currently I only have a steel Daytona which has been my everyday watch for over five years so tempted for a new watch now

@@rezar6894 So I had the DJ36 126200 and 126234 and shed those for the Explorer. The polished center links, polished case, hands, coronet at 12, magnifier, and the clasp all made it a lot more dressy and “flashy” than I ultimately wanted. For me, the Explorer is soooo easy to wear, as you’ve mentioned as well as being very much so under the radar. I’ve had a couple mention point it out but they’re clearly watch enthusiasts. I also don’t hesitate to wear it, whether with my suit or to the gun range. It’s so cliche, but it fits in everywhere. I never tried the two toned Explorer, but I think it’s an awesome design. Just doesn’t fit in to my personal life and what I’m looking for really. The Explorer will feel smaller, especially coming from the Daytona, because of the slightly increased size of the indices as well as the slightly more tapering bracelet starting from a 19mm lug width. Most don’t realize that the clasp is the same 16mm as is with the DJ36, and even the sub (if I’m not mistaken). Though it looks smaller, those dimensions make it such an easy wear, along with the easy link extension. I liked the glide lock clasp with the sub, but I really didn’t need to do all that much adjusting on a regular basis, the quick pop out for the easy link makes more sense to me.

Man my MM300 and my ceramic Seamaster I would say are both way better watches, they just are different brands. Even the BB58 I find more attractive.

If you actually compare those two watches side by side, you will see it’s not even close. The BB is nice, but the submariner is on a whole other level.

I’d keep the 14060. It’s an absolute classic. Save up and add the 124060.

Rolex only sells watches to Authorized Dealers. Dealers sell to the flippers. You are clueless

I like the cyclops. It’s become synonymous with Rolex and it’s a special feature. Then again I’m also not bothered by the Seamaster HE.

@arpad kadarkay Well....that's not exactly true. The waiting list does exist for most people and most AD's. Do all the AD's play by the rules....No! Are their special customers due to their wealth, celebrity or special connections that will always get what they want....100%! Congratulations on being one of the very fortunate lucky ones. Everyone else is on the list.

@@sinjinadams2862​​⁠he is correct, you are not correct. There is no such thing as a waiting list. That’s why some people are on the “list” for years and never get a call. It’s all about the relationship you have with the AD. And that doesn’t necessarily strictly mean spending a lot of money. It’s people like you that will never get the call.

I have a very good relationship with one of the buyers how it works is the watches come in the owner of the shop, basically distributes them out to the employees who get to pick who they want to give it to so it’s depending on how they mood is that day , if you are on the mind or a good client, they might just think of you. There’s no waitlist that’s how it goes.but good for you, and honestly Rolex is the master of marketing. There are so many other great watches better than Rolex no waitlist and cooler. That were I’m at, 11 Rolex’s later im over it! Congratulations on your new Sub,its a cool feeling getting that watch. And its timeless
