We heard so many conflicting opinions on how much evidence to attach. In the end we went with your advice and compiled 100 pages of meticulously organized evidence printed on high quality paper and sturdily bound with a prong paper fastener. Reasoning that we ourselves appreciate receiving things that is evident that someone put down effort on.

Jim is correct about not talking too much, answer the question very straightforward. the silent mode during interview is defeaning and you almost want to make a chit chat with the officer but during my interview I avoided making a casual conversation with the officer as much as possible though she is super nice to me. i was thinking she is not my friend so i opted to keep silent and wait until she speaks.

So many people make the mistake of not including the affidavit of support or financial evidence with their application and say “oh I’ll just wait for an RFE” ❌ DO NOT DO THIS. If you need to wait to obtain financial evidence then you should WAIT. An RFE is one step away from getting an entire case THROWN OUT.

Hi! What’s the real reason that USCIS cancels a scheduled appointment for ‘unforseen reasons’ ? I know about 4 other people who received that same message who had interviews around the same time (late April/early May) (Baltimore office)? if your spouse visa expired already while inside the usa, then they are 'out of status' to be legally in the usa. you filing for them AFTER their visa expires, means you are filing even though they are already illegally residing in usa.

question: i have known my fiance for a short time (less than 6 months). We do plan on getting married, maybe this year (2023). If we do it in the summer, our total time in the relationship would be less than a year. I've read that one of the red flags is having a big age gap. but it's up to you how you prove your bonafide marriage. send as much as evidence you have.

My strategy in filing too late is that they figure out my Colombian wife wants to live in the US more than I do. Fortunately, we moved back to Bogotá and switched to consular processing. If I'm lucky, this could take years!

Hi, Jim. Our visa has been approved. We are just waiting on an interview date. Unfortunately, we are at Islamabad. It seems that we will have to wait 2 more years? It took us 2-½ years to get to this point. PD Feb 11 2021. I miss my husband! Any advice?

Out of Status means lack of a valid stay in the U.S. For example: If someone enters the country with a tourist visa and is given 90 days to stay, that means they have to leave before that 90-day mark. If they don't, they will be overstaying their visa and, therefore, out of status.
