Personally I would say that the 5 best skills are: - Mindfulness through meditation - Weight Lifting - Discipline through delayed gratification - Social skills to build healthy relationships - Dedicating time to other skills to eventually generate money. I personally do this one through KZfaq

@@lovell6595 meditating is a habit, its not a strenuous task as you literally relax and contemplate therefore its not a skill. delayed gratification is a habit as it requires you to implement better decision making into your life as a regular tendency

Now I have realized that I used to do most of these "skills" when I was younger, at around 11-16. I used to try to monetize the things I did, and also sell products and grow on social media to have people that actually follow. Also the deep work by throwing my phone out of sight and wearing noise cancelling headphone to remove any distraction have helped me learn and focus the past 3 years. When you are young, you're so creative, but then the older you grow, the less productive you become, especially school, it makes you uncreative. Image when you were young, you probably used to use colored pens to draw, but then when that shift happened, all creativity from the mind is gone, now you're only using a normal pencil drawing squares. I'm 18 now, and still working on learning new skills, reading books, and being more productive and creative. It says that after there is only one way after a low, and that is a high, if you know what I mean. Like how stocks move. About phone notifications, and phones in general, I have always realized that it is a distraction, and for the past 5 years I've had notifications off on my phone, because it is distracting. Every time your phone would beep or buzz, you would lift it up or take it out of your pocket and check. It feels good to know that some people like Hamza have similar thoughts to you. Now I have wasted a few minutes writing this, I just wanted to let you know. Goodbye.

Discipline is something I'm working on. I've been taking cold showers for at least 6 months or even a year, and especially in these two months I just improved so much with it. When I got the feeling of not doing it I just did it instantly afterwards. I actually thought the word "Discipline!" as I set the water to cold, and it's just so satisfying to see yourself improve and actually achieve your goals

In my country only the rich can afford to use heated showers so we all use cold showers everyday. You might want to learn about average living conditions in poorer countries to help your grind.I also like doing the same

Honestly, after watching this channel I truly realised how many good traits my parents inculcated in me. But of course, I've still managed to learn more about some of the how's and why's behind being more effective than I was and I have to say this channel has changed me for the better. I'm performing a quadrillion times better in college now then I ever did in school (what I'm in college for is also something I like learning.) Just this semester I got a semester GPA of around 3.78 out of 4. Also, been able to work with my dad on some of his projects (He is an engineer with a fabrication business.) But really though, put the work in and you will be a lot more happier 6 months or a year down the line

The deep work skill is definitely a skill that I have because I usually don't use social medias that reduce the attention span like Instagram or tiktok, so I don't get distracted by my phone every 2 minutes. Having this skill is the secret to get good grades in school and to not get overwhelmed by assignments.

Day 3 of watching Hamza, and ive achieved so much social wise, whereas before, i absolutely sucked at and hated it. I suffered so much from my recurring anxiety that has been engrained in my head ever since childhood. After learning how meditation work and gaining from its benefits, my mind is so much clearer and doesn't bombard me with shitty fucked up thoughts that just make me depressed all the time. I feel really grateful for this man that gives jeffreys like me a chance to live great lives.

Deep focused work, without any distractions until the task is done is probably the most important thing you need to have! It sounds so easy yet everybody overlooks it.. 2-3 tasks everyday for a year.. around 1000 accomplishments in one single year. @@pyro8823 I mainly disagree with the "gamers are this and that" stuff If you're truly addicted, I can see Hamza's ideology actually being true ... But he kinda bashes on them a bit too much as if they don't help you in some form or fashion. Gaming isn't that bad. (From my pov, I mainly play single player games, I rarely play online)

Just to add something to deep work and studying for only 3-6 hours; you can actually study 12 hours a day effectively. I used to do it every two weekends and the rest of the weeks just normally. If you decide to split up your work into "shifts" it works alot better. I do this thing where I study for 50 minutes and later on take a mental 10 minute break, no games, no social media or anything. Just walking around the house or whatever for 10 minutes. Once you get back to your chair and get ready for your next 50 minute shift your brain will be reset and rested. I never got tired of this and it made me feel so incredibly good at the end of each day. This does not work for every person depending on your patience and dedication, but for you who can do this I highly recommend it. Your grades are going to sky rocket!

Ever since I stopped watching tv I went from 2-3 shitty songs a year to one song a week practically. My songs not only improved dramatically but my mixing skills, singing, confidence behind the mic, freestyling skills have all improved. And thats aside from my very simplistic at home workout regime. Shit after 3 years of my journey the changes are drastic. Spiritually, health, income (even if its not my goal income, $ is my weak point ), fitness, shit I learned a language, mental health, intellect. Funny how I smoke weed very sparingly everyday yet I managed to be smarter and stronger than ever before. Simply bc of implementing these change in habits. It all started with cutting off soda and gratitude affirmations.

Hamza, I've always had your mindset, knowing I'm wasting time and doing things wrong. I've always had your mindset and when I give my opinions, criticism, and feedback to peers, I essentially tell them what you tell us. I struggle with motivation and it's really nice to run into people online like yourself who you can relate to with the mindset, it gives more motivation to be completely relatable to the damn tooth. I struggle financially and I think that is what keeps me in the purgatory state of wanting to get shit done and not wanting to do anything. For those who don't self-reflect and haven't had thoughts like these for years and years, your a blessing to those people if they just sit and listen.

The best generator for motivation in my personal journey is just by acting, just act. Like right now plan or journal. Take a moment to think "tommorow I should do X habit" and genuienly think about it. And try to actually do it, start small: Could be as small as brushing your teeth, and thinking this is one section of self improvement, brush well... any action like this brings motivation.

in the middle of the deep work part i decided to stop the video and start a 1 hour deep work session what i succesfully completed and by the time i was watching this video again you began talking about discipline and i didn't feel like going outside and bike through nature even tho it was on my checklist for what to do this day so i didn't even watch the video any further and stepped on my bike. thank you, your video's help me every day even tho i don't watch them every day

This format of video is the perfect balanced middle ground. The intro is spergy enough to draw in new subscribers and more attention, but the rest of the video is just like the good old Hamza videos where the video is 40 minutes long and contains so much good content in it. I think you've reached the perfect balance in your content.

I love how Hamza is telling everyone to turn your phone on silent. I turned phone on silent the moment I got it because I simply find it to be very annoying to hear buzzing or a tune. When I was in college, I hated it when people were annoying the teacher in my IT classes with their phones or flat out being loud. Not only was my sensory problems being set off, the best learning resource wasn't available. Luckily I got the majority of my work done in class and my teacher is expecting me to get a distinction or distinction star. When I couldn't get all my work done, I allocated an hour a week to finish everything and it worked.

Brother, I honestly want to thank you. 2 Months before I was struggling with my anger issues, I used to yell at my mom and my family member. But after practicing meditation and gratitude journaling, I have much better control over my anger, I think before getting angry

Hi hamza I've recently discovered your channel and wanted to say thanks for all the advice you're giving and wanted to share my story.so 2020 was the worst year of my life and i was at my lowest.I wasnt charismatic i was quite antisocial still depressed and on top of that weighted 120kg.So after the dust had settled and after i met a person that taught me the most valuable lesson:"you should be your first priority, always placing others before you wont make you happy"and so the last 2 years ive been working on self improvement last year i learned how to properly socialize and lost 20kg and cut off people that do not want to grow as people off my life.this year i finally got to use my talkative nature to become charismatic and a lot of other stuff and I've started my 2023 goal-becoming disciplined with me firstly focusing more on my physical healt because ive already got my mental health good.so all i wanted to say thanks for helping people like me that need guidance and motivation and for the things you teach us!

This is my first comment ever written on this channel because mostly i dont go to the comment sections, but i realized those fake , cheap shit videos of influencing, “productive” videos have those clickbait thumbnails and i noticed in the last 3 videos of Hamza its more eye candy but with high-quality videos. I respect that.

All I can say is I feel incredibly grateful for the impactful content you put out that is both grounded in reality with tangible, achievable goals with a splash of humor and a nice helping of humility. I think we all have a bit of Adonis in us all, lads; it just comes down to nurturing that side of ourselves and being willing to put ourselves first for the sake of our own well-being. I only wish I had found you sooner, Hamza; I'm starting a little late in the game (early 20s) but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm just glad I recognize the opportunity before me; I've been going gym (on pause while I get my right arm checked out but I'll go right back to it once I'm ready & healthy), changing the approach my inner critic takes and so much more, just to name a few. One question for you: are there any specific exercise routines/resources (both exercise and nutrition) you'd recommend for absolute beginners to this stuff? Sorry for the long post; wishing you the best and looking forward to how your content evolves.

Hey man As a kind of language nerd I recommend you look into the Refold method. Imo it’s the best most efficient way to learn a new language. Duolingo and other apps are ok as supplements for it but I find that I make far less progress with more time invested into them. Of course it’s your choice but that’s just my opinion

I’ve been on self improvement for 6 months, studying, training, meditating, journaling, etc. I can’t say I’ve made a single cent yet, but the knowledge I’ve been learning will compound into tens of thousands of dollars soon. One tip I can say is to develop discipline you need to be organized. Not having a plan or a target is inevitable failure.

I just drank my whey with water instead of milk so I could fit my macros better. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's the little things you need to change in order to change the big things. You'll never get anywhere if all you try to change are the big problems in your life. Progressive overload yourself to those big things and they won't be big by the time your ready to deal with them.

There is deep work, and there is the work ethic to do hard work for a long time. You should be able to do deep work when it comes the homework and mental sort of work like he said, but you should also level up the skill of being able to endure and keep working physically for a whole day. Level up both the lion and the donkey. I’ve learned the donkey work ethic from doing service projects and conservation with the scouts, but it can come from a job as well.

Hamza thank you for this video. Yesterday I had my first session of deep work where I got rid of all distractions and sat down to learn how to program. Like you, my journey towards self improvement kicked off after loving the results I have seen from the gym, and wanting to have more activities in my life that give me that feeling. A very underrated set of skills is 1 grooming 2 cleaning 3 cooking These skills make you self sufficient and mean you don’t need to rely on others to get things done The grooming will give your more confidence and help general health

Yep started cooking several days ago and I feel so proud, I cook small meals and easy ones but it's the little things that count and make you proud. Eventually I wanna learn how to make pizzas and pies and several other dishes too, slowly but steady. What's your favorite meal btw? For me it's a tough call between pizza and pie lol.

The thing with being polarizing is that I noticed it suffices to just say the truth as you see it. It ensures that you are your authentic self, and, considering that most people are too afraid most of the time to point out the elephant in the room, it automatically gives you a leg up when it comes to attention.

this video is gold (all your videos are but this will help me a lot), i've ended up high school last year and i started college. i have a lot more time free to invest in productive things but until now i had no clue to what do in this time. i learned python (the programming language) but i don't know how to use it so i lost that time. from this moment i'll try to learn useful skill that i can start doing everyday and maybe make some money with it

There is a fulfilment, benefit and happiness knowingly that you have focused on something until it is completed. Personally, I like leaving my phone in silent mode and only recently learnt about do not disturb mode, which I now have on always. However, I can't really turn off call notifications or have it completely silent when I'm alone at home since my mom really gets on my ass if I don't answer the first time she calls, which is really the only distraction I allow when I'm working on something so on that end my advice to others with strict parents is do not disturb with the sound on ONLY allowed for your favorited contacts to come through (your parents and closest friends[hopefully not jeffreys]). To be honest, I've always liked having my phone on silent, because I found myself being conscious of them coming in or feeling I should check it later on, but I've found that's more rare to do since a lot of people around me normally have them on.

Even though Hamza says that we should stop watching his KZfaq videos and instead must work on the 4 pillars of self improvement. But, order to get obsessed over this idea of self improvement, I have to watch his videos on repeat. During my May Habit tracker I was making such a huge progress in my self improvement journey. But as of lately I am detached from my habit tracker as life is getting in my way. I am back watching 6+ hours on youtube. How can I bounce back!?!?!? I want the members of this CULT to guide me and give me insights and personal experiences IF THEY CAN RELATE TO SITUATION.

I think some kind of artistic skill is a really cool thing to learn, to help making the difference between your feelings and thoughts and orginize them. Personnaly I love drawing, and I literally try to "draw my thoughts" in my journal, like the deep stuff that really hurts, childhood trauma or some shit and it helps a lot. Does it makes sens ?

The most important skill is Problem Solving. Even we see people recommending that to build a business at first we need to find the problem, then sell the solution to the audience and the consumers We can't target this skill specifically but I have found that we can improve our problem solving skills by simply being more productive and avoiding Procrastination and consuming whether we should focus on creating, fixing and making a better version of something.

Thing with problem solving is we can all problem solve, that's why we become fixated to video games as it's entertaining to solve problems. I can eat my junk food to solve my problem of being hungry. I can scroll through my phone to solve my problem of boredom Real life problems also seem to intimidating to take on or seemingly almost impossible to solve that problem so we Jeffrey's tend to avoid that. It's too broad and we need some direction to solve our problems bit by bit.

I disagree with 1 point Hamza, that is about deep work and the amount of time a person can do real deep work. I was in a highly competitive school (not some average school, a school that prepared students to beat the toughest exams in the world) and for the first 3 years of me studying in that school, I was lagging behind and couldn't focus for more than a few hours like you mentioned. But over time, through practice, I could easily sit for 10, 12 even 16 hours uninterrupted completing an insane amount of work. What most people, students took 1 month to complete, I could complete within a day. I had to quit that school for different reasons later, but i still had that ability. I carried over that ability to learn different skills, learn about the stock market, learn programming, etc. People were unable to comprehend how I was able to progress so fast, and how I was able to stay focused for so long. It is possible, but just like weight lifting, you can't go from 0 to 100 in a day. It takes progressive overload. It takes years to build that skillset. I've lost that ability, but I know I can regain that ability much quicker than anyone else, and that's what I've been working on for the past month.

It's very interesting from my perspective about phone related talk in motivation videos or self help videos. I personally never had a phone for myself until March last year when I was 24, so none of the phone-brain wiring ends up really applying to me, I for whatever reason had an aversion to cellphones growing up and never really had a need for one since I did all my online socializing from my PC. So whenever I was out and away from my computer I was disconnected from the internet. I knew there were attention issues that stemmed off from constant cellphone checking and could see it in my peers which probably reinforced my mindset of not getting one, but last year I figured I'd better get one just in case as I've felt it may help me out in some future situations. I have a feeling that in most cases when I hear/see someone talking about issues with getting to bed it's related to their phone use while laying down, changing how they subconsciously view their bed away from just "Ok imma sleep now peace out" to "Aight imma stay up for the next hour and a half checking random shit and scrolling through useless articles". Maybe this is a bit of a ramble but I just felt like typing it out since I don't talk about it enough irl

Hey Hamza, I've only heard of you for 2 days currently, but I will know and idolise you for the rest of my life, over these past 2 days, I have gone to bed at 8:30-9:00 got up at 6, ran 5k and do 100 press-ups and then made breakfast, I have also made myself learn meditation, I have stopped gaming entirely, cut down my time on screens by 5 hours and I am doing better academically already, basically what I'm trying to say is, you have captivated my attention, as you mentioned in this video and my life is turned around because of you and your influence Thank you, Hamza.
