I moved to LA from nyc in 2015 shocked at how much more affordable it was with higher quality of living / weather . Its now 2021 and its crazy expensive. In a decent neighborhood its like 1900 for a 1 bedroom on average.

We’ve had the two recent exodus of Elon musk moving to Texas and Ellison left. The income taxes for those people leave, the wealth taxes never get collected and people who have great jobs who were paying taxes will move to new jobs in other states. So it cost the state a lot of money, also HP is moving to Texas, how many jobs are going to move out of Silicon Valley to Texas and they’re all high-paying jobs. Which means they’re all high paying taxpayers. Fewer wealthy people will want to move to California and we will see a huge net loss of wealthy people and jobs. The California resident who stays here, there’s gonna be less money for the state. When the wealthy person leaves, jobs leave, those are the people that are going to have to pay most of the taxes. A spectacular percentage of income tax paid in California are paid by the upper 1% it’s something like 50% so when they leave tax revenues go down and when tax revenues go down the ability of the state to fund itself declines.

We are looking to move to Houston. Still I the planning stages so not sure what area of Houston. What are your thoughts/suggestions of areas that are good to move to? Again, thank you!

No lies here. I always say in LA you have to be rich to be poor. Rent or mortgage will gobble up most of your paycheck. Cost of living child care and Health insurance will take the rest. It’s impossible to get ahead unless you’re a celebrity or work in the entertainment industry.

Arizona is fun. When you like more than just boozing gambling and clubbing. More to life than just partying. Again why move here if you're such a "fun person"

@@jerryjones1219 for reference I live in Tucson, and even before Covid it wasn’t all that. Weird of you to think California is just for clubbing, when there’s a whole beach, theme parks, concerts, national parks, etc. 🙄

@Der Ost Front When it was prosperous you had all these fucking losers from all the other states pouring into California thinking they’re going to become famous as a musician, actor, entrepreneur, whatever else you can fucking think of and they fail and stay here. I swear to God I have met so many people that live here and are not from here. Most of our homeless are not even from our state, so many have been shipped down here from Oregon and Washington.

I was in point arena on Tuesday for a drive after I left work. Went for a walk and got to see sea lions, harbor seals, starfish, and a whale in the distance. I sat on the coast and started to realize that these waves are slowly eroding these rocks and that in two million years where I am sitting will just be ocean and a older portion of the rocks will be exposed to be destroyed by the ocean. It was a great time.

but u can't swim even in the summer as the water is in the 60s and 70s. tooo cold to swim and plenty of homeless camps right on the beach in LA County for you to take selfies

@Tashie D: I felt that way when I lived there 05-09 Glendale, AZ and S/PHX Baseline area in the so-called "hood" then. Maricopa County is so freakin' big. Blacks are there but really scattered around. I used to tell folk that I went to Church & the Mall to find my people! That used to offend Hispanics and some Blacks that I worked with but hell i'm from Ohio & I got one of those "Mouths"! It's just true, but I too was happy to see Black folk and was called "Racialist" when expressing that... Back in Ohio now, it's cool but i'm rhett-t-go again. Down South is my 1st instinct, Somewhere in Africa close 2nd....
