Kissing is overrated. What I love about this show is that the characters don’t have to kiss in order for us to see and feel the passionate love they share. Alex hugging Willie and Perfect Harmony are great examples.

Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley kissed in ‘Another Cinderella Story’ and there was a 10 YEAR age gap and she was 16. I think it’s very nice that Kenny isn’t forcing a 16 year old to kiss anyone she isn’t comfortable with, I do feel bad for Selena as she didn’t want to kiss Drew due to the age difference.

They might kiss in the third season by then a couple years will probably have passed and Julie and Luke’s relationship will have progressed quite a bit, and since a couple of years will have passed Madison will be 18 then and it will be a bit more appropriate.

Unpopular Opinion: The whole season just felt like a beautiful Kenny Ortega movie cut up into 10 episodes. Similar to HSM and to Descendants.

admittedly i think the two shouldn't kiss in the context of the story for a couple seasons -- it would be way more meaningful if the characters actually got to grow and develop together first before a romance plotline between the 'endgame' couple begins. Imo, the focus of Julie and the Phantoms is the story of the connection of Julie's mother and the band-- and the band dissapearing, not Julie being in love with this dead dude and vise versa haha. But that's just my opinion on it aha

Guys Maddie/Julie is a teenager and Charlie/Luke is an adult their about 5 years apart (more or less). They definitely don't need to kiss, plus this show isn't about that it portrays the emotions throughout song and music. Kissing isn't nessicary for two people to like each other (in the show ofc).

Sorry but it is called acting, a kiss for the show would be acting. After seeing all the butt hurt replies I feel the need to clarify my point. My comment firstly is in response to the view point that the actors don’t want to kiss, they are like brother and sister. But it is acting, not real life, as an actor your job is to sell the story and whatever that is expected. Still, whatever that looks like, the actor’s “wanting not to” is quiet frankly ‘ok so what! ‘ Secondly, I really enjoyed the series and I felt it was wholesome and we need more of that. Also I grew up with Full House and Who’s The Boss I have been around but they chose to accept the job and the producers casted them, so none of this argument matters. Go Vote folks we have bigger things to worry about.

At that moment they should have kissed(if as I explained earlier, the actress for Luke was younger) the kiss would happened at the right moment. Second, I want to look at how Maddison’s dad would not be comfortable with his 16 year old kissing a 22 year old. I want to connect to him, because I noticed something while watching Perfect Harmony. If you pay attention, you can see as Luke picked Julie up, his hands are placed on a higher part of her thighs. As he lets her down, hands slide further up a little close to the edge or her thigh that is amazingly close to her butt. If I was her dad watching that, I would have broke Charlie’s cute face in half! I was thinking at the moment, “Watch the hands mister!” At the time I did not know he older than her, even though by looking at the two, you can tell they are different ages.
