5 STUNNING wood & paint furniture combos to INSPIRE you - FLIPPING & REFINISHING

I love a good wood and paint combo. Sometimes a piece is damaged in one area but not in others, so it's a great way to get the best of both worlds- the customization of a paint job and the respect and nod to the builder by keeping woodgrain where you can. Sometimes a piece is just not desirable as is and benefits from a splash of colour.
I wanted to put together some clips of my favourite wood paint combos from the last year on KZfaq. All of these segments have full length videos on my channel. I'll link them below if you want a better look at repairs, techniques, and products than what is provided here. This is basically a relaxing journey through 5 beautiful furniture makeovers featuring both wood AND paint. I will be doing a video like this every so often. ❤️
Please be kind. I know not all of these will be everyone's cup of tea, so to speak, but I want my channel to be a fun and uplifting, positive place for people to visit. Everyone has a different journey, whether that's in regards to skill level, access to proper tools and supplies, space to work, etc. While some believe wood should NEVER be painted, wood has, in fact, been painted for many hundreds of years. My personal philosophy is to consider each piece separately. Some pieces need it, some pieces definitely do not.

I remember when I first saw your channel I was horrified at what I thought of as sacrilege to ‘paint’ old furniture, but having watched you for some time now (and the back catalogue), I consider your work to be beautiful. #5 has to be my favourite, although they all look great. I've never seen a piece that you've worked on that I haven't liked. You always seem to bring something back from the dead a give it new life looking as good as, if not better than new.

I love love love the wood paint combination❣️ After 39 years I was going to get new bedroom dressers but after finding your channel I realized that what I have is really good quality and I want to try to refinish them myself using the wood paint combination. Hi Angie, I have watched all of your videos, and always look forward to your new releases. I especially love your paint/wood combo pieces. I refurbished a couple of pieces for my own home while pregnant recently to give myself better storage and organisation in preparation for bringing my new babe into my life. I loved the process, and got heaps of compliments, so I thought this could be a great side hustle for me as a new single Mum. I got on Facebook marketplace and quickly filled (FILLED!) my garage space with pieces to work on. Then I had my baby and realised that new Mum's have zero time to be working on furniture... So 5 months on, my garage is still full of old furniture, and it looks like I'm a total hoarder. But I found your channel, and it has been my favourite thing to do in the hours upon hours that I sit and breastfeed! The music you use is relaxing and soothing, and your pieces have given me so much inspiration!! I now have so many ideas for what to do with my pieces, and I have learned a lot from watching you. Thank you so much, you have absolutely inspired me, and helped me get through the early months of new Motherhood. Much love.

The drawer pulls/knobs on the Black & wood combo, look like Bow-Ties and the finished pieces look like "Tuxedo's" so basically "All dressed up and looking for a new home! Brilliant work- the Wood/Paint combo is a beautiful finish for those neglected pieces- Artistry in Furniture! Love your work and how soft and quiet your voice always is. I've been refinishing "old" stuff for over 50 years and your work/art makes me understand why I love the whole process, The honor you do to these "Ugly Ducklings" is inspirational! I picked a favorite. It's 1 & 2 & 4 & 5. (OK, so not exactly "A" favorite.) You worked wonders on 3 and it is lovely - but if I never see any more grey furniture or paint again I would be happy. Just a personal taste thing. I do appreciate your amazing attention to all the details. Wood and paint is always a classic in my eyes. This type video is a win-win. It showcases an array of your work and of course it's all amazing.

Hahah grey is definitely a personal thing- it still sells VERY well here but I rarely do it anymore. I like that particular grey because of the blue green undertones. :-) White is another one for me that I kind of got tired of, but still sells extremely well here.

Love every one of these wood/paint combo pieces! They're stunning, with an amazing balance and perfectly complimentary paints and stains! It's great to be known for a particular type of "flip" that hits it out of the park every time! How awesome is it to be building a reputation for creating a niche type of furniture ( wood and paint) that few people can pull off anywhere near as well as you do! Congrats, Angie! Not only are ALL of your flips classic, beautiful, statement pieces, you've created a unique lane for yourself. In #4, the use of Minwax's Pickling Stain: I have loved that Pickling for years! Love seeing someone else use it too. I even used it on a cheapo resin figurine, made it look like marble! It is incredibly beautiful now, from something so hideous. That stuff works miracles!

I remember watching transformation #5 but I still laugh at you picking up that broken down piece of garbage before you started working on it. So many people would freak out and run away at that “before” dresser but not Angie. You are an incredible artist and restorer. You might snicker at this but….I always take detailed notes on your videos because you offer such great and sound advice. Why make the mistake with my own furniture when I can learn from you. Great work you do. Two tone is hot. Just redid a roadside find 70s console with black gel stain with normal cherry stain accents and it looks phenomenal. Get lots of compliments!
