5 Theories About What Lies Outside The Observable Universe!

About 13.75 billion years ago, our universe as we know it today was created. Shortly thereafter, the primordial light began to shoot through the cosmos and spread throughout the entire early universe. At this time the universe itself also expanded. However, the inflation of the universe slowed down after the first initial eruption, but since then the rate of expansion has been steadily increasing due to the influence of increasing dark energy. In essence, the cosmos has been growing at an ever-increasing rate since its creation. Physicists and mathematicians have been studying the nature of the universe for hundreds of years, trying to solve the mysteries it contains. But there are some scientists who go one step further into the unknown by thinking about what lies beyond the boundaries of our universe. Is it possible that there is something else beyond the existence of our universe? Other universes, worlds whose existence we can only guess at? That could well be the case. Here are five theories about what this "something" could be and what clues there are for the various theories.

I've thought about this since I was very young. I'm now 61, and I still feel the same way. For instance, let's say there is another 50 million universes outside of this one. Well, what would be outside of that ? It seems impossible for it to stop, but it also seems impossible that it can't stop. Like infinity, looking at an ocean appears infinite, but there is land outside of it. Infinity is a very bizarre thing to imagine.

Yes it is. Beyond our comprehension. Like a single cell organism/pathogen couldn’t comprehend our reality because it’s simply out of the realm of its understanding. Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.. There is a realm of existence so far beyond your own you cannot even imagine it. Beyond your comprehension organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident. Your lives are measured in years and decades. You wither and die, we are eternal, the pinnacle of evolution and existence. Before us, you are nothing. Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything. Confidence born of ignorance. The cycle cannot be broken. The pattern has repeated itself more times than you can fathom. Organic civilizations rise, evolve, advance. And at the apex of their glory, they are extinguished. Your civilization is based on technologies, our technology. By using it, your society develops along the paths we desire. We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution. You exist because we allow it. And you will end because we demand it. My kind transcends your very understanding. We are each a nation. Independent, free of all weakness. You cannot even grasp the nature of our existence. We have no beginning. We have no end. We are infinite. Millions of years after your civilization has been eradicated and forgotten, we will endure. We are legion. The time of our return is coming. Our numbers will darken the sky of every world. You cannot escape your doom.

The universe has a theoretical start date. I think that our universe is a newborn, microscopic speck in a random area in the cosmos. And the grand cosmos itself is everything else outside of our universe. And I believe the infinitesimal cosmos is an empty, black, matter less, timeless space that goes in all directions eternally and is a realm that has always existed, with no beginning. And has made and housed many other universes trillions or quadrillions of times, throughout the trillion of quadrillions or more years ago, since the cosmos was always there ..

@@udonnomi6958 To quote Gimli the Dwarf ("And after that, it gets even better!") Consider the real numbers, even only the rational numbers (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, etc.) that are between zero and one. Now add to that another interval between zero and one, with an equal number of rational numbers. Now we have two infinities, which amounts (numerically anyway) to an even bigger infinity. So are some infinities bigger than others? Mathematicians say so (a book I read on the fundamentals of Calculus) but I say no. I think that some infinities just blow up faster than others. i still want to believe that our universe is just a kind of an atom in a bigger universe, which lies outside the hubble limit. like the protons of an atom in this bigger universe are actually the center of mass of our universe, and the electrons, as we can measure them this day, are the biggest influential clusters of material orbiting this center. im sure there are smaller things than an atom or even elementary particles (we just cant really see/measure them yet), which could be the stars and planets as we know them. so we are maybe just an atom of a stone lying in the sun at the beach of a bigger "world". this loops several times until it reaches back into our universe, which could be an atom of another stone lying in your garden. acid is a hell of a drug.

A scientist made a copy of the Earth in his lab and was anxiously awaiting his earth to catch up in time with the present real earth, so he could see into the future. Sadly, some monster appeared and destroyed him, his lab and his man made earth just as it caught up to his present time. Maybe, us and our universe are just something in some otherworldly scientist's laboratory? Thank You. Most enjoyable.

Don’t be anxious . Infact use this knowledge to erade all ur problems . Think why these other humans lives in vain have so much pride n attitude when they know they r nothing with respect to the universe . Think of it as they don’t matter at all so whats the point of getting anxious or feeling any kind of pain . Any pain is so small compare to the universe and thats ur advantage . U have an empty canvas to pain on . Just paint positivity although even ur positivity don’t matter with respect to the universe but it’s better than getting anxious . Point being no matter how we feel or do doesn’t make any difference with respect to the known universe so just be happy n positive . Help others that should be the only goal ultimately .

Small does not necessarily mean insignificant. For all we know we could be the only living human beings in all of the universe, do you understand the significance of that? Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying there aren't any forms of life out there, but chances that these other forms of life are 'human' are very slim. And that makes you very significant. In fact just thinking about how we were formed is pretty extraordinary, we are one of a kind. Until we find another form of life out there, we are the only evidence of life in all of the universe, that's a big deal, this should inspire you not put u down.

@@ExplosionChimp well that may be however the big rip or heat death does not explain the creation of the universe steep by steep 😐it also does not explain the possible way galaxies can collide with one another 😐any Big Bang model all you see is the galaxy’s even if they are close they don’t contract they just keep expanding however that’s not the case 😑 the universe may not be expanding the reason we say it’s expanding is the soylar system rotes in the milkey way the way earth rotates around the sun on a axis 365 days a year and the earth rotes 24 hrs a day and our galaxy moving as well 😐all these factors could mean the universe is expanding when it could be the only reason we say the universe is expanding is only relative to the observer 😐as new study’s show the more we may get a clear picture 😐 after all we are not here to know the fate of the universe all we are here is we were here was all from evolution that’s it 😐and until another earth like planet forms again we will be eventually be in the same place as if we were not ever born in the first place 😑and even if the universe or cosmos is finite their needs to be a cause and effect and to know the age of every galaxy every planet every star is something our brains can’t take 😑but it’s true their are certain factors you have to consider 😑you can’t just say the universe is 14 billion years old just Beacuse that’s how fast light travels 😑light does not mean creation light is light nothing more 😐lesson here don’t trust a scientist who knows everything Beacuse the more we discover about the universe the less we know and we will not ever know if the universe is truly infinite or finite and even IF it’s finite what caused everything ? And what was the cause and effect that created the so called BIG BANG? Is death final? To an extent yes 😓 but the truth is I was all ready long dead before I came into this world in the first place 😑however long ago that was 😐dnow that I’m living and have a brain my brain puts limits on how much I can think 😐 did I have a life before is the universe finite or infinite? We don’t know 😐but what ever the case even before this planet we were supposed to be dead we should not have came into being 😐but yet here we are and with what the chances of this planet forming again more then 0% less then 1%

It’s not a “wall” it’s just the edge that the universe is expanding into. Space is a vacuum, it’s not a negative pressure space it’s just that nothing is there until matter from the “big bang” fills it. This extends beyond the edge of that matter expansion.

Well logically, outside of the 'observable' universe is the part of the universe we have not or cannot see because the light emitted lost its illumination over the vast distance making it 'unobservable.' I am sure if we hypothetically travel to one edge of the observable from earth roughly 46.5 billion light years in one particular distance, Earth then would be on an edge and what lies beyond Earth becomes unobservable.

the best way i got my head around the “edge of the universe” thing was to instead of visualising a wall that expands at the speed of light and the unknown beyond - rather thinking of the universe as a balloon - we are points on the surface of the ballon and the expansion is air being pumped into it. We can’t travel into the balloon as that is essentially travelling through time

My hypothesis: The physical universe is actually contained in a bubble. The fabric of the bubble is that of the illusive dark matter, similar if not actually like the center of our galaxies, blackholes. Scientist have wondered where all the missing dark matter is. The Kuiper Belt separates our solar system, and a halo of dark matter separates the galaxies. Similar, the universe is bordered also by dark matter. What lies beyond this, possibly another universe.
