Catholic divergence from the Bible on this most crucial of issues, salvation, means that yes, Catholicism is a false religion. If a person believes what the Catholic Church officially teaches, he/she will not be saved. Any claim that works or rituals must be added to faith in order for salvation to be achieved is a claim that Jesus’ death was not sufficient to fully purchase our salvation.

@AM-dr9qd Certainly. Religion is a man made construct. These rituals in this institution are used to control the masses, usually by use of fear. Some bizarre fear of death that one may not make it to LA-LA LAND in the Clouds to float forever.

John 53: The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 54 Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. 55 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. 56 For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. 57 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. 58 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me. 59 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever. 60 These things he said, teaching in the synagogue, in Capharnaum. 61 Many therefore of his disciples, hearing it, said: This saying is hard, and who can hear it? 62 But Jesus, knowing in himself, that his disciples murmured at this, said to them: Doth this scandalize you? 63 If then you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 64 It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I have spoken to you, are spirit and life. 65 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who he was, that would betray him. [63] "If then you shall see": Christ by mentioning his ascension, by this instance of his power and divinity, would confirm the truth of what he had before asserted; and at the same time correct their gross apprehension of eating his flesh, and drinking his blood, in a vulgar and carnal manner, by letting them know he should take his whole body living with him to heaven; and consequently not suffer it to be as they supposed, divided, mangled, and consumed upon earth. [64] "The flesh profiteth nothing": Dead flesh separated from the spirit, in the gross manner they supposed they were to eat his flesh, would profit nothing. Neither doth man's flesh, that is to say, man's natural and carnal apprehension, (which refuses to be subject to the spirit, and words of Christ,) profit any thing. But it would be the height of blasphemy, to say the living flesh of Christ (which we receive in the blessed sacrament, with his spirit, that is, with his soul and divinity) profiteth nothing. For if Christ's flesh had profited us nothing, he would never have taken flesh for us, nor died in the flesh for us. [64] "Are spirit and life": By proposing to you a heavenly sacrament, in which you shall receive, in a wonderful manner, spirit, grace, and life, in its very fountain. 66 And he said: Therefore did I say to you, that no man can come to me, unless it be given him by my Father. 67 After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with him. 68 Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away? 69 And Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 70 And we have believed and have known, that thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

You can tell as the restaurants have “church rushes” for brunch and lunch as each of the denominations finish their services. I call it “Catholic aerobics” by the way. 😆. Bless you brother! Keep up the good work of bringing laughter to the world.

So Funny! We have an old Irish joke that we Catholics suddenly stand up and sit down so the Priest can spot the Protestants! Some masses do have choirs, but unfortunately as people, especially young people) are leaving the Church these are hard to keep going. I am glad your priest led the congregation in Hymns. I would like to think that anyone dressed respectfully is welcome at any Catholic Mass (but please don't go to communion until you have done the sacraments to become Catholic, especially reconciliation.) There is a lot of nonsense spoken about Catholicism. There are alot of KZfaq videos from High profile converts who will set you straight (eg John Henry Newman; Scott Hann etc). God Bless!

Imagine how it was when I was growing up. We had to fast, except for a little water, between midnight, and receiving Holy Communion. Back then, everybody who planned to receive Holy Communion wanted to go to the first Mass on Sunday morning, so we could have breakfast when we went home. It was standing room only, and often had parishioners overflowing out the door... and it was every bit as beautiful. Mass was in Latin then, or a lot of it was. It was beautiful, but it also was great for improving your vocabulary. Lol I still remember the responses, including those of the altar boys. (I was in the same room with my brothers when they were learning, and I paid attention. Lol)

That .makes sense because Paul speaks about 500 witnesses to the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus still living.

The beauty of the whole "nsync" of the mass. No matter where you are in the world whether you speak the language of the mass, we Catholics know what is going on and the prayers being prayed even if we don't speak or understand the language. We still understand what is being prayed and what is taking place. We can just say the prayer in English and it is the same thing that is being no matter what country or language in the world. The Eucharist and communion is same all over the world for us as well.

You can watch mass from England, Italy, France, Pakistan....no matter where in the world, it will be the same. It's awesome to think that Mass is offered nonstop around the planet at every second of the day. Great vid, but honestly, daily mass is usually 30 minutes and Sunday mass is usually an hour. And many don't wear Go to Church on Sunday clothes, especially in the summer. And our expression about movement in church is stand up, sit down, kneel, pray pray pray.
@hmvollbanane125911 ай бұрын
Towards number 4 with everyone being in synch: that's because we don't believe that we celebrate different masses, but one eternal, universal mass in the presence of Christ and his disciples. So mass always follows the same procedure everywhere in the world, which allowed e.g. me as a German Catholic from Cologne to attend mass in an Irish-Canadian Catholic church during my stay in Canada alongside my Mexican Catholic host brother with neither of us feeling lost or out of place. Before the end of the 2nd vaticanic council in 1965 they even used the same language, Latin, all over the world, which the mass is still sometimes read in, however ever since the use of the native language of the area has become the norm. Growing up Catholic, attending Catholic Kindergarten, Elementary and Secondary school has engrained the "rhythm" of Catholic mass so deeply in me that I could follow it in my sleep, which makes mass a symbiosis of attention to what is being said in the singular parts with a simultaneous meditation. Another reason that helps with the universal service is the "work out routine" you described earlier, as our practices go back 2000 years during which for the longest time the majority of people were illiterate and probably also didn't understand Latin which meant that mass had to be filled with symbolism and experiences to convey the message to the uneducated masses. So even if I attend mass in a country where I don't understand the language like e.g. Spain, I still get that experience of "sensing mass" and can participate in it alongside everyone else

'mass' is not only long, it's a day late -- since the 7th day Sabbath is the Christians Holy day according to the Bible.
@kellyross4801Ай бұрын
@@tony1685 You are correct. The Bible also tells us that Jesus Himself *fulfilled the Law and was the completion of it. In the book of Acts (of the Apostles) we read that the Apostles (the first 12 were all observant Jews) discussed matters amongst themselves (the Council of Jerusalem) and decided that the pagan Gentiles who were converting were *not required to follow the old Mosaic Law, because it would be a burden impeding their conversion. Several of St. Paul's Epistles address this. Jesus said, when he said he had fulfilled the Law, that the Law could be summed up as, Love God with all your soul, all your heart and all your spirit; and to love your neighbors as much as you love yourself. The pocket version of the Ten Commandments, if you will. Scripture also shows specifically that the Jewish Apostles met on "the First Day of the week", i.e., Sunday, and shared bread and wine as Jesus had commanded. Over time, as there were many, many more Gentile rather than Jewish converts, the First Day became the focus, since very few people had any experience of the Sabbath. Reading some of the Early Church Fathers will also shed light on those transitions.
@nofeerz2 ай бұрын
its the fulfillment of Judaism --refer to brant pitre jewish roots of the mass, jewish roots of the eucharist. each part is basically what jews did at temple "bending the knee" the vestments the steps to the pulpit, the incense, the structure introduction-liturgy of the word (old, new testament, and psalms) the liturgy of the eucharist (thanksgiving) consecration of the bread and wine into THE body and blood soul and divinity of Jesus--a representation of calvary including His glorified state. then the dismissal, but its all biblical. I praise you for going and sharing its beautiful. also with the statues didn't see anyone "worshiping" those statues we only WORSHIP GOD , we ask them to pray for us as we would ask you to pray for us. it just makes so much sense to me, its rich inviting referent holy and peace filled. It's how i wish to worship my Lord. Our mass lasts 1 hour during the week perhaps 30 minutes for the school kids they all behave, they seat an older student next to a younger student, seeing them in their uniforms is so sweet. Longest service is palm sunday where the entire passion is read and we each have our portions. Don't leave early Judas left early at the last supper don't want to be a Judas. Can't leave until the Priest leaves the main aisle. What motivated you to go? a friend , curiosity? Faith?
