"I Love Lucy" wasn't a morality play but it's still good entertainment. Though I've never been a fan of fantasy I do enjoy the work the writers did creating those scripts for the actors to read to us. It would be nice to control the fantasy world as long as I'm the one doing all the controlling.

I have every episode of Leave it to Beaver. After my father passed away, I had Mom move into my house. She lived with me for 5 years. Every morning we would sit down and watch some of her favorite shows while having a couple cups of coffee. Leave it to Beaver was her favorite, and before I knew it, it became one of mine. Mom is now 91 and unfortunately suffering from dementia and is in Hospice and we are unable to visit her. She is suffering from heart failure but we still cannot visit her. This covid19 is causing so much emotional stress. Mom will more than likely die alone. I will always have the memory of her and I sharing those mornings together watching the Beave.

just stumbled on here.... I just wanted to share that when ever I see Leave it to Beaver. I always think of my mom....i am the first twin of a older and younger brother and my dad. But that lady Mrs Cleaver always have been a great representation of my mother. Raising us boys wasn't easy but she was always there to make peace out of war just like Mrs Cleaver she was a homemaker at the sametime trying to be pretty and neatly dressed with makeup and eye lashes. This show always brings back great memories....of my childhood. I think we all modeled lives from this show....LOL thanks again.

I love leave it to beaver as well. Just last year my wife and I watched all the episodes and really enjoyed it. What people do not realize is in the 50's & 60's we had censorship, why? because today's TV is what we get when we don't have it and society pays the price, doesn't it? The show was a great moral show and Ward always explained what each episode was really about at the end of the show. It was one of the best shows in TV History in my book!!!

That's very true about Tony Dow's sculptures being shown around the world. He even had a showing of his sculptures at The Louvre . . . that Louvre, in Paris . . . France. In the article I read about this, Tony Dow commented very few people involved with The Louvre show were familiar with his acting career and that is exactly how he preferred it. He wanted his art to stand on its own merits rather than given a free pass as work done by someone already well-known and accomplished in another field. His art work also helped him with his depressive bouts.

Growing up in the late 50's and early 60's, my childhood mirrored LITB (except I didnt end up stuck in a coffee cup on a billboard). The older brother. The loving parents (who were married close to 60 years). My neighborhood 2 best friends ( we were 3 months apart in age), their older brothers and parents/neighbors who knew your first name and watched after you. On a hot summer's night, playing baseball in the middle of the street and being invited to go swimming at a neighbor's pool after the game. Walking back to your house after midnight without a care in the world. It truly a wonderful and innocent time growing up.

I would also kill to have one of those classic 60's Chryslers/ Dodges/Plymouths today. Loved the episode where Wally buys that old junk heep of a '36 Ford and locks bumpers with Wards '61 Plymouth Fury. Man. What a style with those tail lights protruding on the side of the car.

My family in the 1950 s .....but we were poor and my Mom had mental issues and my Dad had severe back and leg problems and worked as a machine isn’t on foot all day long....he took car to work and left Mom home to care for us and home...Dad did gardening in back acre or on side of the house ...Dad went hunting in the Colorado mountains near us, I was Tom boy like and our house was two story brick sided house old fashioned and the yards were spectacular in old style gardens....plumb and apple trees, tulips and mushrooms, strawberry patch large, old barn with hay storage on the top , Cotton wood trees so high in the sky loomed over the house , lilac bushes , birds and lush grass in front and on sides hollyhocks by the bay window , large front porch with rails to sit on, corn field next to us on left, old horses fenced in on the right and mounds in the fence to keep the horses charging over the fence...a paved road tow lanes in front and a ditch of water to grow grass and to grow our vegetable and fruit garden, an old chicken house so long and old out side wooden toilet out behind the barn on a path , clothes line behind the house, mud room, attic, 4 bedrooms and a shower until one day Mom had it made into indoor plumbing and a tub and washer and dryer, she also bout us a color t.v. From Sears, grandma and grandpa came to visit....we were one block too close to school to ride the bus so we walked for a half hour to school one mile in any kind of weather...I had a boys bike , there was a swimming place with roller Skating down the road one mile from us and we had yearly access to it ...we went boating on Sunday’s with uncle Elmer and his motor boat....long ago about 60 years ago, the lovely life....and we got a thrill ... a real rose drawn sleigh on early Christmas morning with bells on the horse, it was foggy soft snow and it lasted about an hour, warm thick blankets and all bundles up my sister was only half awake , all 4 of us had a dreamy splendid ride !! Grandma lived in a one horse cowboy old town and I was there for the summer....it had a 6 room 3 dollars a night breed rooms with quaint old furnishings, the main step reef was gravel road and wide.. one couple still came to town in horse and buggy to fetch their mail !!! I later went to school there it was a 3 story red brick school, house with a ring it your self hand held bell to bring in the kids after the recess....there is lots more to this !!

I worked in Florida as an actor. Dow was the director on the project. I worked directly with him in a bit part. He was one of the best directors I had the pleasure of working with. What you saw on screen in the Beaver was the real deal. He was that nice. I wish him the best.

Since I started working from home for the past 2 weeks now, I've had my tv on while I work on the computer. I've been watching Leaving To Beaver then I switch it over to Father Knows Best. It's been a morning ritual now. I normally am not a morning person but watching these classic shows has put me in a much better mood.

Wally - Good friend, brother, son, student, athlete, citizen. Very solid character played masterfully by Tony Dow. Wally is my favorite character on LITB. Most of my favorite episodes feature Wally more prominently. "Ah cut it out will ya Eddie before I belt ya in the nose."

I often wondered how Tony and Jerry’s real life compared to the show. Honestly, I don’t honk I would have wanted to go home based on how I felt while watching the show. Although i had a very happy childhood, sometimes actors don’t always get handed a truly happy existence outside the walls of Hollywood. I always have at least 10 episodes of Beaver recorded so I can lift my mood and return to my childhood of the 50”s. My brother had the exact same picture of the cowboy on a horse, over his bed as they did on the wall in their bedroom. They also had the nautical bedroom light we had also. I think most of the set design and furniture etc. was purchased at Sears back then. Best show there ever was that expressed moralistic values.

One observation on this, when the show was originally broadcast most TV screens had a curved edged that masked out a small percentage of the filmed/videotaped image, this blooper would not have been seen at that time. The advent of 16x9 TV screens and remastering to capture and show all of the film and video information led to more bloopers like this one to show up.

Throughout life's experience I have noticed and learned that many people who had a great influence and uplift to so many people, They themselves have unfortunately experience some difficulty in their lives. This is not to say, That they were weak or inadequate or not even a wonderful example of encouragement to others. I Believe that was why he was such a tremendous encouragement and sample to other people In such a genuine and natural way. In other words When we know we have weaknesses or inadequacies, we tend to be more humble and naturally genuine and outgoing towards others. IDK if he realized he was such a huge star 🌟 who was equally As brilliant as the Beaver... often the most "beautiful people" are those who are clothed in humility, and play the most humble ❤ role, like Dimash.

Wally was cool. My favorite character on the show. It was sad when I learned that he greatly resented the role and saw it as something that stole his real life and identity. And actually drove him into clinical depression. I don't get it, I think it would've made my life a blast to have been Wally on Leave It To Beaver. Rest in peace Tony Dow and Wally Cleaver, just learned of your death from liver cancer at age 77 on July 26th 2022. You brought me a lot of fun and happiness on that baby boomer's iconic piece of Americana as a kid.
