Sorry for your sheep sir, having a farming business here in South Africa is tough no matter what skin colour you are, and the double fence idea is awesome 😁 I think when you have enough money, you can build a shelter for all your animals 🤠 I know it's not easy to do that, but you can try for the sheep's sake 😁

Excellent advice! Really admire what you've done. Currently in NZ but been back twice for around a year each time recently. Timing was just off with work and covid

Some other things to consider: - health - age - revenue (crops/live stock etc) - family - schools - location - land grab - etc

The financial side is an interesting aspect. Im sure you could throw any amount of money in and there would still be room to spend more. Im sure there is a definite point where spending just isnt worth it anymore and "make do" is the best option. Cant be easy figuring out whether spending or make do is the best option though!

As a fellow slummies boy I must admit it makes me homesick as we live in Wales U.K. Is your farm out at Cove Rock ? Can the sea in the background. Keep posting and be safe .

Hi, thanks for the comment. We’re out near Kidds Beach, so a bit further on from cove rock. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. Which part of Wales? Its one of the best places I’ve ever been.

Howzit Dale, we're in Cardiff, we have lived in other parts of Wales too since 1979 when we first came over here. Tried to go home to EL in 95 but didn't work out so sadly back in Wales again. Love it if you can mention the locations as you're filimg in as in the river. Your pop looks very familiar btw🤔

Do you know what's lekker on a farm. The term boere mask n plan. A farm makes you think. My father was a farmer a incredible man. I've learnt so much from my father. A farm is awesome. We lost ours.😢😢😢😢

I think it is a complex situation. To stay or go. If I were you I would have done this in Portugal. You can buy a small farm for 10 000 euros there. The unemployed black masses are growing, it is a time bomb. I am leaving early next year. What about your children? There is no future for them here.

Thanks Johan, Portugal is an amazing place, I’ve been a couple times and absolutely love it. A big part of our move here was to reconnect with family still in SA. The best way I could think to do that was a small holding.
