The company branding has gone way out of control. Would LOVE a full set of Optimil door hinges, but they’re pretty pricey. Also don’t want it to say “Optimil” in 8 different places on the vehicle 🤦‍♂️

That looks great! The instructions on most of these carriers leave a lot to be desired, it is only after you have fitted them you find how it should have been attached, I found the worst part was lifting the wheel into place once you have fitted the carrier, but it does take the weight off the door, like most powder coated things they do go very dull after a while in the sun, not sure powder coating is the best finish for use outside, I sprayed mine (a Mantec) with satin aerosol. Stay safe! Chris B.

@@DaleReubin The Raptor coat I have heard is very good, unfortunately I cant get it here in France, so I just used a satin finish aerosol, and that, so far, has lasted for 3 years without going dull, I did the front bar as well as that went dull after just a few months in the sun. Stay s B.

Hey fella good job struggling through with it. I had a Brit part one on my old 90 high was fine. I felt like the nut were either side of the bracket but that would need a nylock nut. I think it meant that it would stop putting inward pressure on the door but I don’t know how important that is.

I got the BA132 swing away carrier from Craddock and fitted it today. It looks almost identical to this one, and was only £100, so I was either getting a bargain or absolute junk……. Sadly it was the latter! It came with no instructions, missing hardware from the fitting kit, and the nuts for holding the wheel on were the wrong thread pitch. The fit itself was terrible, needing quite a bit of filing, re drilling and bending of bracketry to make it fit …ish. What should have taken an hour or two ended up taking most of the day, and after all that it looks crap, and doesn’t sit parallel with the door. So for those considering this option….don’t! 😢

I’m English working class and lived in Somerset West 40 miles out of Cape Town for 5 years. I loved it and still do. I often wondered why downtrodden British people don’t move there. I moved there with 90,000 pounds and bought a house on a quarter acre block with sea and mountain views for 35,000 pounds in a beautiful area and put the rest in the bank and was able to live off the interest., which was 18% at the time. The 90,000 pounds was enough to get me residency there, I don’t know what the situation is now that was in 1991. Maybe the black govt isn’t accepting whites.

Thanks for the comment. Those Alu Cabs are sweet! I've since found out a few things on tuning the stock 300tdi without having to buy extra parts. You can just rotate your original boost pin so the aggressive angle faces forward and you can change the preload on the star wheel which sits below the boost pin spring. There are some other tricks I've found - maybe a whole new video. Anyway, thanks for watching and I hope you get it sorted and enjoy your 130 out in the wilds somewhere!

Been back in S.A 20ish years, a business owner earning Rands and a single mom. Things is not harder just much slower and slower means more time with my boy. African time is a real thing... The pace took a whole while to get use too and the stairing we all look each other in the eye, in our day to day passing. In London i did the eye looking out of habit thing and some chavs sitting on a wall, got rowdy asking " you looking at me like you know me" hahaha i know your mother. Hardly anything to compare. It's way better in SA. It's awful here, it's scary there. BUT 👀 To compare quality of homes doesn't compare, most aren't built well, they fabricated and mostly ugly. The lifestyle, the people, the food, the life style is magnificent. The greatest shame is COST, you pay and pay and pay. In fact it's all about money that's the burden in Britain.

The comments under this video got me. I am a Jamaican who lives in Jamaica and is searching for somewhere to vacation for a month in the next 12 months. South Africa and Namibia are at the top of my list as I enjoy photography when am not working. YT algorithms pushed me this video and the comments are out of this world. The same minuses about SA exist for JAM, and to a large extent, the same pluses. Everyone who can afford to want to vacation in Jamaica but many are also afraid of the crime while the locals who are not highly skilled or with money leave to the US, UK if they can get a visa. Mankind will continue to be migratory and constantly in search of what they believe is best for themselves or family. In the meanwhile, there needs to be a space to enjoy some of what life has to offer if you can afford to or choose to afford to. I will one day visit SA to soak up the amazing culture, geography, and of course visit some of the rough places where visitors avoid. Keep the comments coming!
