Love this video! Also, pro tip on customer service (from someone who has worked it over a decade): Let clients know what you’ve done to go above and beyond (promos, education, etc) for them. Even if it seems obvious, it reinforces your commitment to their satisfaction to them!

Can you make a video on relationships between nail techs 🙍🏻♀️💁🏾♀️🙎🏼♀️ I've noticed some techs even educators, that seem to keep information to themselves, like in a secretive or selfish way, I've also experienced some toxic competition here and there, I would like to hear your perspective on that 😉

My mom always said if your work area or your car is a mess than your home is worse. If you don’t care in the public eye. Than what are you like in private at home? I am not a clean freak but my work place is spotless. I am not a tech but this is for all work areas. Thank you for bringing this up.

I have a few ideas. I’m wondering about how to live with artificial nails. How long we can wear hard gel or acrylic nails and so we have to take a break? Not to be gross but personal hygiene is a bit challenging with nails, like using the bathroom! Also I do a lot of baking. I wear surgical gloves when I make dough (or any cooking) because I don’t care if I’ve brushed and scrubbed my nails it’s still a bit dubious to me. Besides clean up afterwards is so much easier. I think of how not get injured. How to protect your manicure. I’ve broken a few refinishing furniture. I’m having to rethink how I complete tasks. I’ve attended a family get together and we sat up taking shots most of the night and the next morning I tripped up the steps (I swear I was sober by then!!! 😆😂) and broke an acrylic nail, tore my nail bed, hurt like a bitch and bled!! I was able to reattach another nail a day later for protection. It wasn’t that bad in the end. And don’t get me started on texting! 😂 So far I carry a pen knife in my pocket for some tasks. Maybe this is a not so obvious discussion to have.

Just like bare natural nails, over exposure to water isn't good. Your skin puckers when overly exposed but natural nails buckle, bend and swell as they loose integrity during the process. You are already on the right track wearing gloves doing dishes and other long periods of time in water. A shower and hand washing is normal use and doesn't matter, it's beyond that where nail care gets challenged. I never take my gel off if there's no lifting. The point is to provide a protected layer that I don't have naturally to keep long nails. Yes, I can grow long nails naturally BUT I don't like having to cut them all down if I break one - I just build a new one. Done. Note: I am used to long nails, so short nails make me feel handicapped. If you are not used to them, gradually get there with growth and fills so it's not an overnight change.

I tend to use gloves when doing some tasks like cooking and cleaning. I always start with a short set of nails and grow them out over time. Acrylics have made it possible for me to grow my natural nails long and retain the length. I know how long I can grow them without anything breaking. By my third fill in I'm usually ready for an overlay without the tips.

What I’m finding is that clients, especially the younger gals, don’t want a relationship or are loyal with a nail tech. Anyone else?
