Another source of holsters is an air gun or paintball gun supplier.

In the past I’ve carried a P64 and also a CZ70… both super easy to carry but definitely a little lacking in firepower.

from my surplus collection, i have concealed carried... A CZ-52, Walther P1 and P38, Nagant 1895, and Yugo tokarev

@@8mmmauserman there are a type of IWB sleeve pocket holster thing that can accept pretty much anything thats made from nylon or leather, even revolvers much larger than the Nagant like a full 5.5inch ruger vaquero. (I recommend Holster kings version). Though admittedly this type of holster can be quite tricky to insert Revolvers or the P1/38 style of firearm. draws just fine though but it doesnt like the insertion. I have a weird talent to just make surprisingly large firearms disappear on my person as well. But even with the Surplus holster you can make it work with an over coat or jacket too.

Those Tokarovs were cheap and so available I'm thinking late 80s until at least 91-93, when I last saw. I wish I'd bought several, they were $40 and instantaneous sale from a dealer from when they could sell from trunks of cars and were private sales if you knew him a little and not to sound like a bad person, but I could've used them in some travel like Mexico or places in Europe. Only might've needed to dispose of one or two, rest could've brought back with little or no issue.

I also carry the CZ-82. For ammo I hand load some PPU hollow points a bit hotter (1100fps) since the CZ-82 was built to handle slightly hotter ammo than the Makarov. For a holster, I have a leather Makarov holster that I just stretched out a little. Nice video!

I have an FEG SMC 380, an Interarms post-war P38, and several other pistols one might consider "Milsurp" style. The P38 grips are too fat and wide to be comfortable in my hand. The FEG fits like a dream being a PPK clone but in 380 and such a compact design, it is a little vampire. Bitting and drawing blood. On top of that, mags are expensive if you can find them. None of my Milsurps are really CCW materials for many of the reasons stated here. I would love to carry them, but more often than not, i find myself sticking to my Ruger Speed Six recently

Except for the extremely rare situation where someone already has a surplus handgun like a CZ82/83 and they cant afford another gun, there's really no practical reason to carry these old guns anymore. Maybe an argument could have been made 20+ years ago when they were super cheap and new made carry guns were more expensive. But there are numerous brand new carry guns for ~$200-250 today and now almost all the surplus guns are more than that. Not to mention LE trade-Glocks that I've seen as low as $270.

I’ll be getting an LE-Glock here pretty soon I think. Here’s a few reasons I can think of: 1. Bias towards a particular handgun - the CZ-82 fits my hand perfectly, and I just shoot it really well. 2. It happens to be the gun you have in a particular category. I typically carry a Beretta APX-A1. Sometimes I want a smaller gun, and my CZ-82 currently fits the bill. 3. DA/SA. If you like this action there’s not a lot of affordable modern options. 4. Proven reliability for the price point. Some of the cheaper handguns can be of questionable quality. These are all subjective and there are probably better options for the price point, but these are some of the reasons why I sometimes carry the gun I do.
