I’m newly on disability trying to figure this all out… do I have to pay for Medicare?

If you're referring to Social Security Disability benefits, then after 24 months you'll be eligible for Medicare A&B. You'll get your Medicare card automatically about 3-4 months prior to the 25th month of disability benefits. And yes, you will pay for the Part B premium out of your SS disability benefits. The only folks who don't pay for Part B are those on state Medicaid health benefits as well.

@@SherryWineAndCats If you indeed have been receiving Social Security disability benefits for 24 months, then you would've received your Medicare card in the mail a few months ago. Login to your SSA.gov account and open up your Benefit Verification Letter. If you have Medicare, that letter will show the details in the Medicare Information section. And then you can go back to the account dashboard and click to request a replacement Medicare card by mail.
