Well....I have a couple of reasons to hate my NC750X. 1. I do not like to steal. Yes, steal looks wherever I go. 2. It gives me problems with my wife. She says that I love my Honda more than her. that is not true. I love them both equally.

I just got back from a 2600 mile trip on my NC750X DCT. The bike only averaged 88mpg. Very disappointing! Joking aside, you forgot to mention the 20 odd litres of storage space inside the "tank". This is such a useful feature that I don't think I could go back to a conventional bike again. Brilliant design by Honda.

Yes that video sold me. When i was considering getting a NC i did the obvious and looked for reviews on youtube. Its hard in Australia to find a Honda dealer that has one of these bikes to test ride. Mine was the only new one in Australia when I bought it. I did get to ride a NC700S which is obviously fairly similar but after watching this video I committed to the purchase and Honda then shipped the bike still in a create to Brisbane and 3 days later I was riding away with a grin from ear to ear. That was 8 months ago and I can say 20,000km down the grin is still ear to ear. What a great bike we own.

Talha Kazi only difference is ride height the NC700/750X has slightly higher suspension to give more Offroad capability. Only other difference is the front fairing. The ‘X’ models have the taller wind screen and the ‘Adventure’ style bear over the front wheel. Other than that no difference.

I agree with you about the NC750 and all its glory. I love mine to bits and have traveled all over the world on her. However this morning I jumped on her and headed off into town for some breakfast only for her to let me down!! Thankfully she came to a stand right outside my mates bike workshop. First of all after breakfast her battery was almost totally flat and we had to jump start the bike. On the road home the clocks and all simply died and then eventually so did the engine. Right away I thought it was the rectifier and so we started stripping the bodywork to find the rectifier. Now this is where the NC becomes a massive nightmare!!! What a terrible job it was just getting all the plastics off and the tank luggage box out. Even with all that out we could not find the rectifier!! Eventually we called Honda and they explained where it is hidden! It is hidden away under the fuel tank and access is made by removing the plastic mud shield above the rear wheel. Even with it unbolted it was a nightmare to get to the reg but once we got it out we found the problem and that was a corroded wire. It had been arcing I would say since new as it had even melted the plug. Thankfully the reg and all are still ok and working!! The nightmare now is getting the bike back together. Hopefully now she is fine again and ready for her long trip from Scotland to Morocco next month. Thanks for your clips

Great vid! Congratulations! Do you turn off the abs somehow when going off road with this bike? ... I'm starting to believe that not being able to turn abs off at will might be the only real "flaw" of this bike... any thoughts?
@AfricaTwin-Stuff
@AfricaTwin-Stuff 7 жыл бұрын
Mauricio Barreto - I've ridden dirt all my adult life. Turning off the ABS is way overrated for the sort of riding you will do on an NC. Even on my previous bike - GS1150 BMW - I didn't bother turning off the ABS. I've found the NC ABS to be pretty good on the dirt anyway. Not too sensitive.

I got a NC750X DCT 3 weeks ago. 1500 kilometers so far. A bit heavy for off road although I have been up and down 2 different mountain roads covered in loose gravel. The DCT may make the chain last 50% longer because starting off is gentle with no shock.

Yep tongue in cheek certainly sums that up! I totally agree with almost everything you said, excepet the seat.... which I find on mine is not long distance comfortable.. so I shall probably be spending more hard earned on a Corbin seat... this with the Puig touring screen with Vario, handguards, fender extender, hugger with chain guard, Tutoro chain oiler and full GIvi luggage is a good starting point for an great all rounder.. soon to be fitted will be the SatNav and power socket for the heated gear or other needed electrical gadgets...... of course I live in Scotland and not Australia so my needs my vary! To answer a previous poster, yes it is REALLY that smooth, I came from an NT700V which doesn't vibrate that much but this bike is sooooo smooth.... it is brilliant!
@AfricaTwin-Stuff
@AfricaTwin-Stuff 6 жыл бұрын
Les Bishop - seat? Yep. Opinions vary on the Honda NC750X Owners Group (Facebook) about comfort. One bloke even said he didn’t like the Corbin seat! Over the years I’ve found seat comfort variable. Some are initially hard (NC) some initially soft, but all are uncomfortable if you don’t regularly move around or even stand up for a period, when doing many 100’s of km in a day. But hen again my butt isn’t the skinniest!

I've just bought one of these in may and I love it! I got the dual clutch model. Do you get what's like a whistling from the front wheel on the manual? It was on the demo I tried and on the one bought, both DCt models. It sounds like it's coming from the front but I put it down to air running under the front mudguard. It's not a problem, just something I've noticed and wondered if any one else that rides one has noticed?

Hi, silly question - if the engine is running, can you reverse it in/out of the garage/parking.
@AfricaTwin-Stuff
@AfricaTwin-Stuff 5 жыл бұрын
John Spence - yep it’s a silly question. Mine is a normal manual transmission just like every other manual transmission bike. So yes - you can. But if you are thinking the DCT model then maybe you are confusing the system with a scooter. A DCT is a dual clutch transmission. It has a neutral as well as drive. So yes you can reverse it when in neutral.

I drive my NC700 for 5 years now. One thing i really, really hate is the lack of power and hitting the rev limiter too often (no dct). Luckily i drive my bike most of the time easy to my work. It's very economic to run and reliable. And the luggage storage is great. Greetings from Holland.

@@AfricaTwin-Stuff thanks for your reply. I was considering that most of times I ride I use more torque than hps, because i rarely go upper than 5.000rpms. On my gs I have 80 hp @6.600rpm, but a weight of 250kg with full tank, and with an average fuel consumption of 16km per liter. Here in Italy the DCT version is more popular than MT. Once i tried it, but it didn't convinced me because it was "too perfect": non vibrations, no feelings when changing gears (torque shakes, vibrations etc.), even using the DCT in manual mode. Maybe I'm not ready to accept automatic transmission on motorcycles yet. However, is the MT version more "alive" by your experience?

It is however not a Racing machine but a true commuter as its very easy to flick and turn in traffic

very good bike as first as well as the last bike LOL. Bare in mind it's quite heavy and with DCT even more heavy, plus the seat is releatively high. Personally I wouldn't buy DCT, better to learn how to use manual but if you want it works good most of the time especially in sport mode.

Lately I've been thinking of selling my NC750S in exchange for a bike with a shaft drive, like a Guzzi because of the supposedly decreased and easier maintenance, but your instruction videos have changed my mind completely! Thank you!! The past few weeks I was thinking about getting a Moto Guzzi V7 from 2015, and the only reason it would be that one is because that's the only one which I can just barely afford to buy. I've been doing some searching and asking around however and apparently the V7 is known to have gearbox issues like the bike not wanting to go into neutral or into 2nd gear or oil leaking from the shaft drive... When I read that stuff I really started to ask myself: Is it really a good idea to sell this bike, my first motorcycle which I'm completely happy with, for a bike with less efficiency, less practicality, more expensive accessories and dealer maintenance and of course way more vibrations surging through the entire bike? What if I regret selling my NC750S? After having seen your video's about how ridiculously easy it is to perform most maintenance on the NC750X/S I realized that there's no way in hell I'm gonna sell it for an inferior bike like a V7. It's so smooth and easy going and reliable and efficient and practical and not to mention it looks just perfect with it's mostly matte black finishing combined with a touch of metallic red body work, it's downright excellent. I think I'm gonna buy some accessories for it actually. It deserves it :). Thank you for the instruction videos!

Hi. I have small issue with my brand new 750x. Its also manual version, and while breaking in the engine ive done 600km without reving it higher than 4000rpm. After that distance ive decided to rise maximum revs a little until first service. What appears in that time is that after exceeding 4000rpm very strong vibrations on footpegs appears. You mentioned in this video that there are any vibs in all rev spectrum. Does it means that there are realy ANY vibs in any revs? I would by greatful for your answer cause im going to "fight" for this with my dealer and i want to be sure that im right. Cheers and stay safe!!

Kevin Phillips - it's a budget bike so only has non adjustable suspension (except god rear preload). But it handles very well. The low centre of gravity means it turns in easily and holds the line with little effort. I ride with a GS BMW and Multistrada and in the real world of public roads have no problem keeping up in the twisties.

Why would accessories be one a fuse that also supports hazard lights horn and the lcd screen , I have yet to find out but my guess is a dodgy dealer mechanic has bodged up the wiring of the accessories. I have also owned and still own a few bikes mate ( it sounds like a fantastic bike for reliability , fuel economy etc , are there any common faults with the bike ? , also wire wheels would be nice and also lack of HP , so would you prefer your Honda over a Vstrom 650 X ( as specs are very similar but they have around 70HP )
@AfricaTwin-Stuff
@AfricaTwin-Stuff 5 жыл бұрын
It’s all about the ride-, Keeping it alive - the Vstom X would definitely be a better “adventure” bike. But I have never liked V twins (just an unreasoned prejudice of mine) and V twin is more difficult for maintenance (I do all my own maintenance) Lack of power? How much is enough? Usually the answer is “more than my current bike has” (whichever bike you have). So this doesn’t concern me.
