The biggest question that needs to be asked, in the case of single moms, is.... Why are these mom's single? Consider, divorce courts favor the woman so heavily, as do the family courts in determination of custody and the like... Woman are given a strong incentive to replace their men. One up the guy. Go where the grass is greener. Ditch the dude. It's to say, the courts and family services system are set up to give a woman a strong motivation to destroy the family unit for their own benefit, while forcing people to go through the state in paying for things, thus enriching the state and making people beholden to it. It's tyrannical and evil, but that's pretty much what our state is. If a woman is a single mother having taken part in this system, it's almost an obligation, on the part of men, to ensure she lives her life out, only to die alone with cats, atop a mountain of kitty litter. Did she divorce her husband? It's your obligation to find out why. Get the full story. Talk to the ex husband. If she left him for bull**it reasons like, "He wasn't paying enough attention to me." or the like... Not somebody you'll want to build a life with. The self serving guys will use her as a toy and discard her by their nature. That's no problem, but the nice guys of the world run the risk of further enriching this evil woman. Don't do this. Any woman that left a marriage behind should live a long, long life, utterly alone, destined to be the queen of all stray cats, and it's up to men to ensure this is her fate. On the other hand, if you have a woman that's trying hard to do right, that was discarded, not of her own choosing... there's potential. Now you can scrutinize what kind of behavior they exhibit.

A single mom brought me to taking the red pill and dating advice videos. I just lost a parent, was grieving and vulnerable. She started talking to me and we became friends. I wasn’t looking to date anyone. She was consistent with her communication. I was not even aware of red flags before this. It turns out, she had as many red flags as a Communist parade. She was bi, had a girlfriend, BPD and major father-attachment issues. I realized that that made her easily approach men. After several months, naive as I was then, I fell for her hard. After using me as her emotional tampon for her own issues, she dropped me like yesterday’s news. Painful, yes. But it brought me knowledge and wisdom. Wished I knew all these before hand. Would have saved me time and emotion.

It's so easy to see reality in the rearview mirror! But good for you for learning, growing, and gaining wisdom. I was on a date like that twice. My first time out on a date and alone with with these girls on separate dates for the first time and both went totally off the grid and I couldn't wait to drop them off...... and when I did and came back to my own home where I lived alone, I just sat on the couch and looked up at the ceiling and thanked God that I was home, alone, safe, and she was gone. I could have had sex with either one of them that night, but it just wasn't worth the trade. One called me a few days later, but I turned her down. The other never called.

I dated a single mom many years ago. She had her issues and they got in the way of our relationship. Also, she may have been using me to make another guy jealous. I wound up thinking the world of her son as he was a great kid but my relationship with the single mom still came to an end. She was increasingly difficult and when her plan to make the other guy jealous started to not work her interest faded (this part about the other guy is my theory as she never admitted it but I'd be willing to bet I am right). We ended our relationship with no hard feelings and I was always proud to have had a positive influence on her son. Even though it did not work out this relationship I handled well. I did it right.

If you are right - which I don't doubt, it's deplorable that she would introduce her kid to a positive relationship (with you) without intention of a long term commitment. And then end it without any effort to save it. This underscores that she wasn't even a good Mom in the first place which I think Anna is addressing right now as I type. Red flag - not even thinking about the negative impact to her son. Good for you for trying. I'm a single Dad having lost my wife early last year. I will not even consider introducing my 2 daughters to any one I date until I would be damn sure things had progressed to the point of potential long term commitment.

I'm in my 40s and several of my friends have teenage daughters who make rather INAPPROPRIATE comments to me when their dads can't hear. It's really disturbing and I tell their dads immediately because you know how dangerous something like that can be for a man. The girls have no clue the kind of danger they put a man in when they act like that. Now imagine having to live with one.... NO THANK-YOU, NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!

Yeah, I can see if it came up later in the relationship - and yeah, sometimes the financials hit us harder than those sans kids , which can be frustrating I imaging for someone who doesn't have the kids or experience the situations we do as the primary sole financial leanings of our single parent families. I usually have tried to see if a guy has a different strategy than I do when I encounter a snag financially, because I'm genuinely curious, and two minds are better than one. Never have I ever, nor will I ever, expect a dude to hand over his financial wellbeing. I wouldn't do it either so why expect the same? That's odd to me.

"Have an exit strategy." Yes!! Couldn't agree more! I had to do that, when a bipolar psych0 bulldozed her way into chabitating with me. Tried dating a few single moms after my (now ex) wife and I divorced. Having that experience behind me and not wanting to go through it again, I never let things escalate to the point of an argument or disturbance - but I still have a few words of advice for any guys out there: 1. Don't do it. 2. You will always come second to the kid. 3. Even if the kid isn't a priority, she'll always use it as an excuse for doing or not doing anything she wants or doesn't want to do. 4. Possibility of baby daddy/ex drama - no good can come from this. 5. Don't do it.

@Murray Lindsay Hmm...I'm sure there are some very solid and sane single moms out there, however you'd hope their ex isn't insane. Going out on a date with them once or even for a longer-term could be perfectly fine. They clearly also have a choice here choosing who they want to date. Many attractive single moms have options. You don't want to deal with a bratty kid and/or you may not want to raise someone else's child. Sadly, though ideally, they're widows. I do mean sadly, because I wouldn't wish death on any child's parent.

My co-worker is a single Mom who dumped her boyfriend because her son’s father was feeding her son lies about him, causing the son to resent the boyfriend enough where it started causing friction between the son and that boyfriend. The boyfriend literally did nothing, the Mom (my co-worker) said he was the best guy she ever been with, knew the child’s father was telling his son lies like “your Mom isn’t with me because she’s being controlled by her boyfriend” and “we’re not a family because your Mom just wants to have fun with her new guy”. The son is only 6, so he’s believing everything his Dad is telling him. So…she dumped the boyfriend. And…she moved back in with the Dad. Wild stuff.

Great video, Anna. However, you missed one red flag. This red flag is when she says; "My kids come first." If she tells you this upfront, what it really means is that her kids come first, last, and always. And, that you will never be a priority. It means that your only value to her is what you can do to help her take care of her kids. Don't get me wrong. I think a mother should put her children first. It's wrong for selfish parents can you neglect their needs. However, when a woman invites a man into her life, it's wrong for her to ignore his needs. Guys, remember this; When a woman tells you something negative about herself, you can multiply it by 10 and take it to the bank.

I would find it hard to respect a mother if she didn't put her kids first. A dude comes in to her life and she is supposed to make him a priority? A kid needs to know his parents are always there for them. If she really loves you , in time she won't be saying her kids come first once you prove yourself many times over. If a dude can't handle that then it's best he find a woman without kids.

I agree. Kids do need attention. They need time. As an adult, you need less attention and time. On the other hand, that does not mean she can simply take you for granted. It is up to her to make sure the limited time she has for you is high quality. That means she must resist all temptations to nag, complain, etc. On some level, she needs to realize that you are making.a sacrifice for her and she needs to honor that sacrifice.

14:43 Interesting note here. My father also died when I was twelve. He was an alcoholic and there's a lot of back story here, but lets just leave it that he passed away when I was twelve. My Italian mother chose to remain single and raised my older sister and I alone. Not that she didn't have options. She enrolled me in military school from eight grade to twelfth grade where I received a very good education and had very good adult male examples in my life. Which included other older cadets as well as school staff. I made lifelong friends some of which have since become very influential in world events today. I still keep in touch with many of them even to this day. She never remarried and just recently passed away at the age of 96. She was a good mother, I loved her, and I could never have done enough for her. God has blessed my sister and I in life and I've never had any problems attracting women and the same for my sister with men. I just need to be better at discernment. My sister always had the pick of the bunch and could even easily steel a man away from another woman. Often times with no encouragement from her. As for myself, even today as an older person I can still turn heads when I walk into a room. It's not the life I had hoped for, but its been a pretty darn good one. I look younger than I am and when women flirt with me and tell them how old I am, that usually sends them packing, which is fine with me. Single and no children. Life is good! Thanks mom.

Thank you dear wingman for elevating us. I have lived through all that and much more, passed beyond all the red flags because of a 10 year old boy who desperately needed me and with whose mother I stuck for 17 years until he finished his medical school and married and brought me a charming and loving daughter-in-law who sought my help to manage with her mother-in-law, my ex-wife. So I don’t regret all that: it all depends what you expect from a human relationship and above all, a marriage which reflects how you consider your purpose in life; bringing stability to a damaged single mother and child can be a challenging but rewarding life experience as long as you are willing to manœuvre in between the forest of red flags.

So...several months ago I told my single Mom girlfriend of 3 years that my business is the most important thing in my life. Reason # 1 being, nobody is going to pay my bills except me. reason #2, Ive spent 18 years building my business and have been doing it mostly by myself. 3rd reason, I gave her an opportunity to be a part of it but she lacks the motivation and dedication to work it with me and help it grow. Since then, we rarely are intimate. I try often but she says no most of the time, in fact it's been almost three months since we've made love. . Uses excuses, headache, too tired, some part of her body aches. But when she "wants" to go do something, especially with her kids, she has plenty of energy and everything seems to stop hurting. At this point I feel there is no benefit to this relationship.

WTF I really feel for you; dating a single mom can be most challenging. Unfortunately in this situation you must work twice as hard to make this relationship work, and it is not easy. But! at the same time you must look after yourself, otherwise the train will run over you. If this relationship is going to work you must lay down ground rules, "you work long hours and more than likely overtime to provide for the family", and most important you have limits, this must be conveyed to her with a firm hand, if you can get this across, she will have a lot more respect.
@YourWingmam

100%! And if she doesn't get it, she's not worth it. Love the train analogy... if you're not the conductor, your relationship is going to derail at high speed!

When I was younger I really wanted to see the best in people but now I get older I realize that there are a reason single moms are single moms! Unless she was married and the father died tragically and suddenly there is really no excuse to be a single mother of small children.

My 1st wife had a kid that I adopted, marriage was hell. Lasted less than 5 years. Did I learn nope. 2nd wife had a kid which I did not adopt lasted 2 years. It wasn't hell but it wasn't paradise either. 3rd wife no kids been doing great for 20 years. I watch your channel to be able to identify problems before they become one. The first 2 marriages was me trusting other people's terrible advice. You give great advice thank you.

First, thank you so much for your trust! Second, your story is a testament to the risks of dating (or marrying) single moms. I'm sure looking back you can now see the red flags but man, those relationships are far more painful to exit. Finally, glad you found a keeper!! :)

Yes, I am serious. You know I work Trauma at a major east coast hospital................. And , yes, when I was walking the girlfriend to see her boyfriend, I asked her, "Hey, do you guys have any kids?". Her response was, "Well, I have one." When the pt came in, he admitted to falling asleep at the wheel because he has been working a lot of overtime (warehouse work).

You're more insightful in your analyses than anyone i've ever known. Never been with a single mom but i do have a spouse. Things didn't start this way but over the years, i've collected enough red flags to make a quilt. Surely men crave your companionship because they (we) think you're the only female on the planet who understands red flags and so doesn't deliver them.

As a single mom of 3 boys - yes @Your Wingman is spot on. I can tell you the number of times when my kids were younger that there were promises - or I sabotaged a well meaning dude and didn't mean to. I learned. I've dated good men. I have a ton going on right now in my life, so I've said good bye to dating for a while, as I've realized I cannot make time for dating as I'd like to (working, in school, in the military, have kids). It's difficult, but I don't want to lead a man on that I will have more time for him, which has been the resounding echo from most guys over the last 5 years of my dating experience. We can be rational, moderate our feelings, and have a higher emotional quotient with you guys. Men are great, fantastic, and amazing. More power to the channel here.
