I wish you would use more images of happy healthy senior citizens🙂. Sometimes I feel so demotivated when I see images of 20 or 30-somethings prancing about with their perfect teeth and perfect smiles. Images are so powerful they can have a lasting effect. As a senior who has smoked for 40 years I find it so helpful for my quit journey to see people my age who are healthy and happy. Thank you! 🙂

I stayed in my house/on my property for about 30 days when I quit smoking--Yikes lol I dealt with my home triggers one by one, & was shocked that there were so many "battles" at home. When I finally left my home, I didn't even think of grabbing the cigarettes on the way to the car :) I was so happy to go to the gas station, fill up & pay at the pump, and hop back into the car and drive away without running in to buy cigarettes--I felt so empowered, thankful, & grateful for Everything in my life :) I will now try using the gratefulness & visualization to control the bad eating habits that I fell into since I quit smoking 99 days ago and going strong & happy after 37 years of smoking! :) Thank you so much for all of your help in this journey :)

Good work! In trying my best to give up the smokes, only on my second day, using patches & nicotine gum. How did you manage to give up? I'm impressed, keep up the good work 👍😊 Would love to hear back from you

When I made the decision to stop smoking, I started gradually cutting down , this dragged up for months, it was a continuous struggle . Then I got a flu , and in my 2nd day of flu , I stopped and I could not tell the withdrawal effects between quitting cigarette and the flu and I just used the flu to stop and I am smoke free in my 3rd week. This is my longest smoke free during 30 years. PS: I throw all of my cigarettes during my 4th day of flu

Number 5 is the most significant. I smoked to avoid responsibilities. To avoid spending too much time with people, to avoid the responsibility of my success. Look for excuses and I keep finding them.

How to deal with the trigger alcohol though? Last time I quit smoking, after about three months I drank a bear with a colleague after work and I had cravings to smoke for the whole evening. I was surprised by the intensity of the craving as well.

Hello. I have 1 situation I haven't been able to figure out how to get through. There are times before or after work when I can be either very anxious or very tired and this causes the cravings. When I do give in I soon find out it's nature calling... Then I go to the bathroom and feel better but I have a new pack of smokes that I don't want. Is there a solution?

To say that "only you are responsible for your success" is simply not true. All thr studies around smoking cessation show that your environment and life circumstances determine the outcome. You say you are a psychologist, so you should know better.
@CBQMethod
@CBQMethod Ай бұрын
Unfortunately, you completely missed the point here. The lesson is to have the mindset that you’re responsible for your success. In psychology this is called locus of control. If you feel success is outside of your control, it will be. If you feel successful is within your control, you’re more likely to succeed.
