the last tip is key. im still working towards my fitness and health goals but historically i have been a pretty unmotivated and undisciplined person. i was not able to create good diet and fitness habits until i completely divorced the process from the desired outcomes. i think the reason its so hard to lose weight is because we see diet and exercise as this unpleasant sacrifice we have to make. as long as we feel that way, we will never stick with it. we have to completely change our mindset to viewing these things as the beneficial and life-changing habits they are. I still hate working out honestly lol, but I love being a person who works out

What honestly makes the most difference is how generally active you are on a daily basis. I mean, lifting and formal cardio are great. But the main problem is that even people who workout are sedentary most of the day. They're even being sedentary at the gym sitting and scrolling between sets. 😆 I'd tell people to walk daily, climb stairs at a moderate pace daily, stand more, park further away, run errands on foot if possible, etc.. It's all of this non formal exercise movement that adds up. 💯

Can you please explainthe process of how you go about getting a Dexa Scan that isn’t just used to measure bone mass? Do you need a script from a doctor? Do you ask for the report to include the info about lean mass etc.? Is this something that must be a private pay/not covered by insurance? Thank you. Great video! Appreciate your knowledge.

Most places in North America you don’t need a script. Just search on google your local city and DEXA scan and you should find some places.

Tracking food intake is not only pointless, its not going to work long term. Our ancestors were not fat, and they never tracked their food intake. Explain that if you can. I can.

They were very active/hardworking and ate less processed foods and not large portions of them either. Nowadays things are different. Just cuz our ancestors didn’t do it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work today.

@@nelsonrivera8301 But that is not the real reason. They didn't eat processed foods loaded with fructose, which is nature's weight gaining nutrient, or vegetable oils. Those foods cause obesity.

The part where you said to not look at weight loss as the product, but rather a byproduct of the work being done, really spoke to me. My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week. If i only lose one or even zero for the week, i view it as an opportunity to look at where i can improve. The journey is a long and sometimes rough one of losing weight. Its discipline. It's habit changing/forming. It's learning. Its acceptance and denials. Its not all about the food we eat, rather it is more about the decisions we've made about our bodies and lifestyles that speak louder than the results of a bmi or bodyscan. We are the results of our own decisions.
