Cardio to a fighter is like gas to a car, you need it lol. Gabriel can you do a video on moving during sparring or a fight? Like is it okay to bounce or use the pendulum step to get into range?

I will give my own tip, I use the principle of Guy Thibault. He wrote a book ( in french) that I fallow. As a hobbyist athlete ( below amateur) I reach 75 vo2max. A stupid high number. Page 60 on sport entrainnement cadio sport is the golden nugget. Add with little things for the page ( on the others pages) , you will the best cardio out there. I reach a level so stupid at the end of my jui jitsu class, I felt just warming up... this book change my cardio training

On the smaller rest, what our coach has us do is either ten pushups or squats between pad rounds DURING the one minute rest. You can either take the pushups easy and have basically no rest, or knock them out hard to get that 30-40s. Either way, you never actually get the full minute. It makes the pad work really feel like a gauntlet, you feel so gassed and out of shape. But then I do other work on other day and suddenly realize how effective that was.

Now these are some amazing tips for cardio improvement Gabriel, I have all of these checked on my list, except 30 seconds rest time, to short the rest, and I had checked the hard training, and shorten it out the training, cause even the short workouts, can push your cardio, to the next level, thank you so much, for making this awesome video Gabriel!

Sir Gabriel, I feel stamina in Hard sparring is different to any intensive training. Everytime I got hit hard I feel the fear and it stress me out a lot more than just hitting pads hard.

Train your breathing muscles. I do it with Bas Ruttens O2 trainer and its so little investment (5-6 minutes a day) but helps a lot. Plus its very easy to do. Youll notice imorovements very fast (3 weeks)

It's funny you say that for 5, because I just had a fight last Saturday and i was stressing over my opponent who was bigger than me and had more experience, i had him in the first round but since it was a point kickboxing fight, I guess I got comfortable and it left me winded during the last 2 rounds. I also have a training partner in my muay thai gym who is around 140 lbs and 5'5 or 5'6 but when we spar he barely puts in any strength, it's all technique and it scares me because the impact stings. It does help since I manage to take on the others with more aggression afterwards. Solid advice.

'Do things that scare you'. That's literally every combat sport practice for me. I am NOT a natural fighter. I don't really have combat instincts. I do this for self-defense and because I like the sports I do. But even light sparring scares the hell out of me. I'm not outwardly panicked, I'm not closing my eyes, but I'm still tense, afraid to take hits, afraid to hurt my partners accidentally, that kind of thing. It's very visible on the videos as well, and something I'm trying, every time, to get over, but it's extremely difficult for me. Honestly, I'm glad I'll never get into the ring for real. The idea of having to fight someone who's actually trying to KO me is frightening. I'll stick to fencing and keep kickboxing and boxing just light and for fun.

If there's good cause to suspect conditions like heart issues, asthma or other issues, yes. If we're otherwise healthy and don't normally have issues with our heart or breathing, there shouldn't be any risks involved in working on our cardio unless we're idiots going about it.
