Back in the day I used to take the overnight train from KL Sentral right into Singapore with friends and sleep in bunk beds. Love going to Singapore as the urban planning and repurposing of old buildings is amazing and as an architectural student back then there was so much to learn from. Food is great too, and I highly recommend trying their "Murtabak Singapore" as well as the Hainanese chicken rice. I'm so glad you've had a wonderful long stay in Malaysia and hoping that you might return someday. I've enjoyed following your travels here.

I also did more or less d same like u did. But my train overnight trips werre in d late 1980s, from d old KTM station not KL Sentral n right into d city of Singapore, mainly for weekend shoppings at Orchard Road, back then, d currency exchange wasn't that bad, SD1 = around RM 2. There wss one trip back to KL from Singapore where d train was stranded by a flooding area in Johor. Old memories remain in tact.

Wow, trains with bunk beds used to be lots of fun! I used to have a similar experience in my childhood going from Latvia to Belarus where my grandparents lived. It was always so much fun! Thank you for your recommendations. We look forward to exploring Singapore!

we used to have toilet in bus in the 90s, but when we have our highways completed, bus providers removed the toilet facilities as toilet in highways R&Rs (rest & refresh) are much better & cleaner. The only minus point is that you gotta wait for the bus to stop. But, since you're on a luxury bus, you can always ask them to stop whenever you gotta go. They'll entertain you

Now long-distance buses no longer provide toilets because highways in Malaysia have many rest areas. If you want to urinate, you can tell the driver to stop at the rest area

If I want to go to Singapore or Penang, I will take the luxurious Aeroline Bus. It has both toilets and meals on the bus. Next Time You Can Try AEROLINE .

Unfortunately we cannot have 100% perfection in any bus. Aeroline bus has toilet but I think solitaire is more comfort.

If u want toilet in luxury bus choose euroline bus. If u want save yr money in accommodation, stay in johor. U can go back and forth.

It’s not the best that’s for sure!! But there are stops on the way where you can use a toilet

Its intentionaly done that way to prevent waste from making the bus smelly. Remember, you are traveling on the road and depositing waste on the road in Malaysia is a no-no. Also a flight style compressed air vacuum system is a no go for the road. So to prevent smell on the bus, no toilets are present. However since the entire journey is via the Malaysian North-South Expressway, every short distance has rest stops are equipped for large vehicles such as buses and trucks to stops and have tons of toilets and food stops.

This was Nothing like my recent experience. No food. Unpleasant driver. Totally different Transtar no functionality seats different. Not luxury. Seat configuration 2 and 1. Sept 25 2023

almost perfect but the most important thing is the toilet for a 6 hours ride you have to wait for the bus stop.
