At least the pcie slot is the same gen so the gpu won't be as bad as others had when they put it with older am4 mobos cuz of no 4.0 gen pcie. Now I do agree that it still is worth it to pay the extra 60 bucks on it for a 6600

I like to think that you and other reviewers should do more benchmark based on Total War Series and sim-like games such as Project Zomboid to show that CPU is just important as GPU. A customer of mine got angry because I spent more on i5 6500 on his low-mid budget build instead of a cheaper 6th gen i3, which is indeed 40 percent cheaper but for a programmer like him the extra cores would do him good 😅

Solid build. I'd still definitely recommend saving up another $50 and hitting up the used market for a 6600XT/6650XT, which will stretch your PSU margins a bit but Intel i3 builds are pretty low on power requirements to start with so you'll probably be just fine. I used to run an APU build on a micro ITX case that had an internal 150w PSU, so it's something you CAN do! Power supplies are just less efficient the higher towards their limit you get. You're really, really going to appreciate the gains of going even with a 6600 over 6500xt honestly, but 6600xt's in a nice place, and in a pinch 6500XT is still much better than any integrated solutions, but it's already getting aged out of viability for anything but esports titles. Diablo 2 struggles. :(

Controversy aside with the 6500XT, if you just look at gaming performance, its actually a decent GPU and if it sold for $99 at launch it would’ve been an awesome starter GPU for many. Yes it not going to survive the onslaught of badly optimised recent game titles, but for a starter pc for little kiddies and pc beginners, it’s a fine GPU to start with imo.

@TechByMattB, I am thinking about buying and making this build but the Intel Core I3 would not be compatible with the BIOS of the motherboard. It sound like you cannot change the BIOS without a CPU that is compatible. Only way I could have done this is by switching out the cpu with a cpu compatible and then updating BIOS. Problem is I don’t have another cpu. Is there any other motherboards that you could recommend with the same specs for around the same price? Otherwise I have to find a different build and replace all the work I’ve done to plan the expenses of buying the parts.

DONT GET 5 5600X, NEVER DO IT. get 5 5600 without the X there are no difference and it costs less, you can maybe upgrade one thing or add a bit more ram.

@@flintfrommother3gamingappreciate the info, I watched the benchmark test results for the Ryzen 5 5600X versus the non-X variant. the non X was 30$ cheaper and the difference between the two processors was like 1 fps. nice save man

My brother just got everything for this build. We did everything exactly as the video. The pc won’t power on, AT ALL. I’ve tried taking out each ram stick, and that didn’t work. Don’t know what to do!

Start with the easy stuff that's easy to overlook: Make sure power outlet works, make sure power cable is securely plugged in on both ends, make sure PSU's power switch is not turned off. After that, make sure ALL internal connections are secure and correct. Pay special attention to the power cables (CPU and motherboard) and the power button header cables.

Hello, im trying to build a pc next month since some of my friends recommend this. My old PC gave up on me so i gotta get a new one. I have no ideas on whats good, so any ideas? I'm on a budget between 1200€ and 1400€

I haven't looked up the price conversions but on that budget I think you could be more ambitious. Maybe start with a ryzen 9 3900x and a 6800xt? That would put you around 790 usd before ram, ssd, case, psu, and cooling. Check bottleneck calculators before making a decision though, that processor may be a smidge weak for the gpu, but it's close.

Anyone here has thoughts about the Xeon e5 2689/2690 processor?

A second hand GTX 1070 would be a better choice here, but for all new it's unfortunately this Rx 6500 as the only option.

I'd recommend spending a little bit more, something like my recent $700 build and you should consider upgrading to 32gb of ram and a 1tb ssd.

Would u recommend buying the 32gb ram?
@hogdogs
@hogdogs Жыл бұрын
At this price point I think it'd be overkill, 16gb is plenty for most games and if you were working on anything more stressful I'd think the cpu/gpu wouldn't have the power to support that
