Hi, i've been using the GOWIN TangNano 1k, a very basic and simple FPGA board, i managed to create some projects using Schematic Entry which is one of the 3 Methods to program an FPGA [HDL(verilog, VHDL) , HLS (C++), Schematic Entry). the Schematic entry is just build logic gates circuits to mimic a code and do the same job. unfortunaly there is so Analogue support so no audio control or analog sensors for automation. but i m devloping digital logic circuit library to support I2C, SPI and UART to use them when ever i need them. good luck for everyone and good luck for you Stacey...... i hope this content get its popularity.

I have no idea about your current occupation but I suggest you trying to do some MOOCs about FPGAs, embedded systems, programming, and your general skills. You teach very well and it's an excellent path for extra incoming.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've looked into this and found that a lot of the platforms take a really large cut and their terms are quite unfavourable to the creator. I am looking for a MOOC platform that would be better. I also need to decide how much I'd charge (if anything) for what service. My entire goal is to make learning about FPGAs as free/cheap as possible, and charging seems counter to that. So having the videos up on youtube, while not very lucrative, is more aligned with my goals for this channel. Naturally I do want to make some money, but I do have a day job working with FPGAs, and that is covering all the youtube costs for now. (also, I have been surprised at how generous some people have been with the buy me a coffee donations). I may end up doing mentoring/group sessions that are paid in the future as well. But the goal is to keep the videos free.

Random comment but I actually took a class with the professor who made the free textbook that you recommended for VHDL. I will say that James Mealy is truly one amazing professor at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I have so much respect for him and learned so much from him.

Verilator is also a great no board option. This compiles Verilog to C++ then allows you to do C++. Test benches. The EDX RISC V coarse is prettv good IMHO.

Good tutorials. Stacey, Have you ever worked with the Zynq global timer? Is it possible to use it as a regular interrupt source?

Any recommendations on how to properly write SDC timing constraints? I did what I think is correct but have sooooo many failed timing paths. 😢

Did you go straight from uni into FPGA industry? I've been interested in FPGAs but found it hard to find a job due to how niche it is, especially in Australia and the fact that we only had 1 subject that briefly touched on FPGAs.

I did go straight to industry from uni. I also only touched on FPGAs briefly during my course, but did some internships during my last year that familiarised me with FPGAs and it was during those that I decided I wanted to make FPGAs a career. The company that hired me also trained me in FPGA design.

I have an issue with some adc/spi verilog design which fails to meet timing. Any idea how I might proceed. I probably need someone to look at the design but I'm not sure where to find someone. Any suggestions anyone?

You're welcome to mention it on the discord if you have a specific question. I also have a video demonstrating how to fix failing timing: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hsqmoZeo2r-mn58.html

@@shebo96 what matters inintially is the pinout and the Tool to prepare the projects(Vivado, Quartus, Lattice, Libero), then the logic inside the FPGA or CPLD to understand what can you do with it. You need to start with a very basic simple stuff first.
