Great video, thanks for sharing that. Could you provide a link to the actual Amazon product page? I'd also like to save some money and get one of these knock-offs but I see a few listed and would prefer to get the one tried an tested by you.

YOU CAN BET THOSE KNOCK OFF ONES ARE MADE IN CHINA...

I am another American that will do what ever I can to prevent any of my hard earned dollars from going to China. I just received my All American Sharpener. I am in the process of building my law mower blade sharpener stand so I haven't had the chance to use mine yet. It is quite aggravating to see this type of knock off already on the market. Yeah the All American is a few dollars more. But I am more than willing to spend those dollars if it will stay in America and go to the person that took the time and trouble to develop it. I am one of those that deliberately avoids Amazon because of the knock offs that it sells blatantly. Denny you have my dollars and support and will proudly advertise to all my family, friends, and co-workers about your product and amazing service!

The All-American Honda Adapter works in it, too. The one I got from Amazon has a nicely machined aluminum handle instead of the screwdriver handle and the angle adjustment knob is actually a machined aluminum knob. I like it and didn't have to make any modifications on it. I plan on using proceeds from mine to actually purchase the All-American straight from them. I bought the Honda Blade adapter on a gamble and to support them in what little way I can right now. The gamble paid off. Thanks for the video!

I looked at the AAS sharpeners and when I googled the part I found higher priced (compared to manufacturers website) authentic tools and the less than half priced amazon knock offs. I'm also retired and like to save money, but i also appreciate quality and craftsmanship and when I can afford it - I buy it. I ordered the AAS 5005 gen 2 earlier today along with another 'direct from the manufacturer' blade balancer- Magna-Matic Mag 1000 (blemished, to save some money).

Thank you very much for this video. I bought one of these knock offs ( different brand and seller) this past spring and it never was shipped and the seller would never respond or reply to any inquiries. I’m hoping I’ll get mine on Monday as I just ordered one. Thanks again and take care!!! Art

If you have an old worn-out blade, I suggest you practice with that one. The position of the grinder disk from the blade edge is critical.

Being a small business owner who has had my ideas and product stolen by unscrupulous pieces of crap competitors this strikes a chord with me. If I could afford to take legal action in my case I would and would do everything possible to put them out of business. All American, I will be ordering your sharpener soon!

Strange and kind of funny. So I had the opposite issue for the grinder rod to the guide. My hollowed bolt was far too loose and sloppy I used shrink wrap to get the correct diameter so there was no slip or play and ran 400 grit through the hollow nut to polish it for smoothness

Use higher quality materials and allow yourself to stand out from the competition. Then as an American company you earned those sale’s. From Wright wrenches to proto sockets down to Milwaukee step bits etc as well as quite a few others And with those like I just mentioned, you’re paying for a higher quality product…so there is still a value there but a product with a couple pieces slapped together most could fab up in a garage isn’t…I don’t care where something comes from, no one is getting a sale from me because of the location it was manufactured… and this is a prime example of a product that should be knocked off, because if it’s simplistic design, and when it comes down to it, laziness on the manufacturer side of things because they didn’t put higher quality materials in it and everyone else

I'm glad for the innovation of the All American Blade inventor, but America will end up losing when competing with cost of labor and production. We're at the higher end of the food chain in wages and consumption while the rest of the world will do our same task for less money. That is why Apple is so successful, they utilize the best of both worlds ..the technology and ingenuity of leading countries and the labor and resources of poorer countries. Unless the cost of the American Blade Sharpener goes down, the cheaper model will most likely see better sales. I know its hard to lower cost since American companies have to pay employees health care, retirement and insurances on top of the regular business expenses, and other countries don't have this burden but globalization has its down sides. Its always a numbers game in the end, and sooner or later somebody will be knocking at your door to get your customers. Outside of outsourcing the manufacturing process, AAS can implement some of the tweaks from the knockoff to stay competitive and also offer a lifetime warranty on their products. The average homeowner or DIY who sharpen blades once a year is mostly going to be looking at cost.
@AllAmericanSharpener Жыл бұрын
For the record, we do offer a Lifetime Warranty that we stand behind, and the knockoffs have not added any tweaks. They don't even fully understand the tool (based on some of their photos and videos), because they did not design it. On top of that, they literally make photocopies of our manual and include it with their products. There's no new innovation happening with these knockoffs.

Be careful of the handle that locks the blade in place, I've heard that it strips out easily, because the diameter of the threads is smaller than on the All American.

I was looking at these blade sharpeners on Amazon earlier a few days ago. Then I thought I would just wing it with a bench vice and just wing the angle by hand with a grinder. After seeing your video I broke down and ordered via your link. I am sorry but I could not afford $250 for the All American. The one you suggested was $95 with tax. Great video and thanks.

Such a waste. I put a blade in a vise and use a 40-grit flapper wheel ($23 for 10 on Amazon) in a drill. It takes very little material off and sharpens razor-sharp. A grinder removes way too much material making balancing more difficult. I do sharpen my blades often in this manner. if you're sharpening once a year you're not doing it enough.

this is a ripoff product. a ripoff of a product that an american company worked hard to create. from your video description, its easy to tell that you know. i hope someone rips off one of your ideas, and makes money from it...although i dont see a lot of bright ideas coming from you. you should be ashamed recommending it.

Clearly you haven't done any research. AAS is a small shop with an innovative product. It was a bunch of guys in a garage. They put up their own money to begin with. I think the point you are missing is that we should support American innovation vs. Harbor Freight. Drinking buddies came up with the idea... they worked hard to "perfect" it then they had to figure out how to market it. I don't know what you do for a living but when your company gives your job to a fresh newbie out of college you'll understand.

There is no such thing as scam on Amazon. They have the best return policy. Do not like it then return for refund simple as that. I see the same item 1/3 the cost somewhere else. Amazon is NOT always the only place to buy. It pays to shop around and compare.
