I have the Spectron Musical MK class D amp designed by John Ulrich and in the late 1960s he was a co-founder of Infinity (with Arnie Nudell), and is credited with designing the first Class D amplifier back in 1974. Anyway my amp weighs 54lbs and it's is 500watts@8ohm 650@4ohms and 1,200 watts@1ohm 65 amps for 500 milliseconds It sure makes my Maggie's sing But boy has the class D amp design advanced lately!!

Digital amps are great, but (to steal your phase) you have to play in the deeper end of the pool to get the stuff really worth owning. If you are like me where all your components are in the $2k and under category (used about $1k and under), tubes and class A or A/B still are your best bet.

Your comments are so great because they are accurate dead on.Your a joy to have here! yes good class D is very very expensive but I will tell you its worth it.Imagine a repair just the hassle with even a 100pd amp! Its just one example.A lot is ego driven but ok sadly pd for pd if they want to go there Bel Canto is some of the most expensive in the world but still high value simply because of its capabilities

shaming? no this is my opinion and where my long journey has brought me Dave.People need to find there own way anyhow and people are making big mistakes if they are buying on other opinions here on youtube.Get in your rooms and learn whats right for you.The info I express is my opinion and my experience.Please do not tell me what to share on my channel and maybe start your own.
