I love my 22’ Kodiak 700 EPS SE, Yamaha makes some the best most reliable machines on the market IMO. I had my machine clear wrapped on the sides of saddle where my legs hit and then on the front fenders where branches rub, that will protect the paint and keep it looking sharp for years to come.

Just picked up a 24 grizzly 700se. I have had a Yamaha since 03 and never changed a belt on at least 5 bikes. But I unfortunately did buy a 17 708 and it left a bad taste in my mouth with all the engine troubles and 4x4 button issues I’m really surprised I went back to Yamaha. I did go to get a rubicon but when I seen the tires and mini dash also there still using leaver hand brake and the way it shifts in auto was the reason I stayed with Yamaha. Honda also went with racks that required special accessories as they use lock mechanisms instead of the regular racks on Yamaha. 100 Kms on her so far and I hope the god I don’t have to go through what I did with my 2017🙏

I got a winch bumper,back seat,heat demons,boss Bluetooth speaker, hand guards with mirrors built in. Next is 2r racing tip, steel winch cable upgrade to rope, aluminum skid plates,and I’m doing some research on clutch kit and programer!! She is already really hard on fuel so I’m not sure if I wanna get into more hp yet!! Front and back bumpers are a definite in the near future as well. Great video thanks for the review. Reminds me of the brute force 650, a lot more quad than advertised. Outrun a 800 Polaris with much lower CC. Love my 2022 700 raptor, and even if you mess up down low it just grunts and pulls through at such low rpms a smaller quad would just stall.

Grizzly is a fantastic blend of everything for a good trail machine for sure . Ive owned every volume brand atv except a can am . Have an X3 SxS though. Three Brute Forces and a 2019 sportsman 1000 were the power minded rides I had . I didn’t get to put a lot of miles on my grizzly before someone else decided they should have it instead of me , but I enjoyed it . I replaced it with a 22 KingQuad 750. I like everything on the KQ better except the suspension and Power Steering . Fit and finish is super nice on the Suzuki . If Kawasaki updated the suspension and tweaked the ergos just slightly I would always recommend the Brute Force as the best overall blend of obtaining muscle car power with Japanese quality . I will always have a soft spot for them as all three of mine were fantastic. Really can’t go wrong with a new Grizz , Brute, or KQ.

I have a 14 and a 19 SE just like yours but a different color. brakes are awesome on both. 19 actually feels a little more powerful. definitely taller and tippier. yamaha nailed the CVT transmission (I came from polaris and have also had honda). This is definitely the best mix of reliability and comfort between honda and polaris. One of the coolest/best things about this machine is that when it's in 4x4, you can tap the rear brakes and get 4 wheel braking through the transmission (but with only the stopping power of the rear brakes.) Same with engine braking in 4x4. Didn't know all that when I bought it. First machines I've had with engine braking and power steering. absolutely love them. Wish I had bought one new in 2008 instead of going through honda and polaris. Lots of riding videos on my channel.

I bought a 2008 Grizzly 700 EPS brand new, which was the first power steering model and I beat the ever-living hell out of it. Rolled it multiple times hill climbing and bent the steering column. Sunk it and filled the engine with water. Replaced many, many CV axles and boots and the quad was absolutely bullet proof considering the abuse it went through. I sold it in 2012 and within 2 weeks I needed to buy another one. So I bought a used 2009 Ducks Unlimited with a snorkel kit. I have taken a "little" better care of this one and still have it. I would highly recommend the Bison full brush guard/front bumper and a full skid plate kit that protects the chassis, foot wells and A-arms + CV boots. If I had those accessories on my first Grizzly from day 1, it would have prevented a lot of damage. I have all these accessories on my 2009 and it has made a huge difference in preventing dents to the frame, torn CV boots and damage to the plastics. The only complaint I have after all of these years is that they tend to run hot and will shut off at idle when they get really hot, especially if your radiator gets dirty. Also the shifter can get a bit wonky at times, but is tough and always works. I am not sure if they corrected this on the newer models, but don't let your battery go dead over the winter. If it goes completely dead, it can fry the display and they are not cheap to replace.

My coworker and riding buddy, Randy was a diehard Honda guy. Always sticking to his guns about the reliability and the indestructible nature of his foot shift Honda. Let him ride my grizz and he bought one a few months later. He always believed in the rhetoric till he realized the grizz and its 10 yrs warranty on the cvt was simply better, easier to use and made it feel like a direct drive transmission.

The camo hydro dip wears and fades bad. The industrial paint Yamaha used is extremely strong. Tree branches don't scratch it, it litterly takes a constant rubbing with abrasive between to actually scratch it. Chips on the wheel wells are gonna happen, look at most color molded fenders, the plastic is copied along there.

Hello, I have a 2020 700 Grizzly. Considering getting a new Honda rubicon deluxe... which is the better unit in your opinion? Or anyone here for that matter... I'm an old guy paralyzed actually so I need an automatic transmission.... I really I'm only interested in Hondas and Yamaha... thanks mang..

Also I really like the Grizzly! But I'm having a hard time finding the honda rubicon... therefore what's your opinions on the kodiak 450 and 700 as well. Since I have a bad back a comfortable ride is an absolute necessity... and the auto trans of course.. thank you for your opinions and this great review... be well.
@veeDubbinit2
@veeDubbinit2 Жыл бұрын
@@shagnasty6391 In my humble opinion the Grizzly is likely the most comfortable of the quads. The Kodiak is a bit of a smaller quad, more of a work quad, and the Honda does not have the smoothest of transmissions (from what I’ve heard). I have not ridden the Honda or Kodiak so I really can’t say for sure brother, but the Grizz is smooth smooth smooth imho. Let’s see if other people comment with more experience.
@jasonmorehouse3756

Grab a grizzly or a Kodiak 700, the Rubicon is nice but under powered and rides much rougher than the Yamaha. Much better transmission with the yamamatic cvt vs Honda dual clutch system.

@@jasonmorehouse3756 actually did end up getting another grizzly! A 2022.... still need two more. You'd think the Rubicon would be a couple grand cheaper than the Yamaha....? They are pretty close to the same price... dosen't seem to matter where either... Oregon no sales tax or California maximum sales tax.. still both are right around $12-$13k... if you can even find them.....

Honda is fine. The foot shift is the way to go. Just not fun at all on the trails. Not sporty. Not aggressive enough. The yamaha is by far the best of the two if you wanna ride aggressive. Hondas are more work oriented

11.5L to 13.8L per 100kms is my average. I think it’s a 22L tank but I’m not 100% sure. I’ll do a test, run it until it’s dry, and find out the range. Good question.

I was the same way. I went with the Grizzly because it’s more trail oriented, wider, but taller, more power. I wanted the gears of the Honda. But now that I’ve gotten to know the CVT of the Grizzly, I have to say it is the biggest surprise because I wasn’t expecting it to be sooo smooooth. Both are great machines, but the Grizzly does have more power and is a very well thought out machine.

Last thing you want to do to that bike is lower the weight on the front. These bikes are already too light up front.
@veeDubbinit2
@veeDubbinit2 Жыл бұрын
It depends on how you ride and how you want the quad to feel. You aren’t the first person to prefer more weight over the front wheels, but for how I ride, I find my Grizzly handles better with less weight over the front axles. There is less diving when breaking hard, cornering, and riding fast. If you go billy goat mode and climb up shit all day, sure, more weight on the front could help… just ain’t for me.
