If you make $2k in Vietnam you can spend like you make $8k-$10k, everything almost 5 times cheaper than in the USA.

I used to live in that area last year for 2 months...That is a lot and those 800 to 1000 ones are a robbery - they that much for westerns because we can pay it with out much worry. I was paying 6.2 million for a 3 bedroom house 2 stories in the same area... These cost are just taking advantage of westerns really, glad many are starting to see how merging with the culture and community can also save the wallet :) . Starting to see more and more westerns long term staying in more VN community areas. Cheap and great for the area

Nguyen Khoi The average income of a vietnamese is about 150$. Of course it is expensive, they try to rip-off all of the westeners.

I say the price around $400 with utilities included is achievable for nice place like that. Just no view of the lake though.

OMG beautiful modern Apt., and across Ho Ta^y such beatiful place. When I was young, I only seen pictures of "HaNoi 36 pho phuong" (36 business' quarters) and Ho Tay in history books. During the French's era (i think almost 100 years VN was under French). Vietnamese and French people lived and worked together right in that town, and Ha Noi used to be capital of Viet Nam during the French era. Are your guys close to Cho Dong Xuan (Dong Xuan Martket) ? It was also built by french. Anyway, such a beautiful place and decent price, though not cheap, but not too expensive. Thanks so much for showing. I hope they don't increase your rent. If they do....just move to another place. There are so many beautiful Apts. around Ha Noi. Thank you so much for the video. I check out your video everyday! enjoy so much! Thanks Alex!

$550 is expensive for a country like Vietnam. But if they are splitting the rent that will lessen the pain., These guys look green, I bet the local taxi drivers will be rubbing their hands with glee when they see these guys coming.

I hate it so much when you foreigners use the term "a country like Vietnam" to describe low standard. It's true the number of poor is still high but at the same time a lot of us are doing way better than what I've seen from normal life in Europe.

"YOU foreingners" sounds little too harsh don't you think, Khoi? without "foreigners" and Viet Kieu VN would still be in worst shape don't you think? I think I appreciate every visitors come to VN. I LOVE to see "foreingners" in VN. LOVE them all! They are there to help improve my beloved country of VN :)

You do not understand. When I said $550 is expensive for a country like Vietnam, I am saying that paying $550 per month is a lot more expensive than what the average Vietnamese person will be paying in rent per month. I could say $300 a month is cheap for Australia because prices are high in Australia.. It has nothing to do with low or high standards, it is comparing the normal price to a higher or cheaper price that an average native citizen would pay..

I agree about having a balcony, I feel too closed in without one. The high waisted jeans are very flattering on you, is that more of a thing in Vietnam? I see it some here in the US but my area may be behind in fashion. Alex the beard looks good on you, it seems to be popular with expats. What do the Vietnamese think of men with beards? Maybe it is seen as exotic because Viet men can not grow a beard.

High-waisted came back in style at least 6 years ago/ whenever skinny jeans came in.... I thought ppl everywhere wore them but based on your inquiry, I guess not... It's definitely big in LA, NY, and fashion-forward cities. I left NY, lived in LA and DC, and now in ATL and the only reason it's not everywhere in ATL is cuz there are so many supersized ppl down here in the South.

livinglifestyle true, Vietnam doubled the amount of billionaires in USD last year from 2 to 4. There are rich local Vietnamese, but it's in pockets/certain areas of Vietnam. HCMC has many millionaires, basically anyone who owns a villa or single family home are probably at least a millionaire or close to it.

Viet PopLove I agree to the fact that There are still a lot of problems to solve for the country, but what I always see in Vietnam big cities is that everyone owns their own big home, kids always get updated with the newest iphone, and things are getting better day by day while in Western countries, there are so many homeless people on the streets, which is sad. It's just unbelievable how many people still look down at the whole population as poor
@bestly802
@bestly802 6 жыл бұрын
livinglifestyle ya there is a homeless problem in California where I live. Even things in the US is getting extremely expensive. A 1 bedroom apartment across my street goes for $2500 with a $500 deposit. If you sign 3 months instead of 12 months, It's $3400 a month and a $500 deposit. $550 for an apartment like that in Vietnam is a steal and it seems more fun/laid back there too. You don't have to be worried about getting shot.
