People under estimate how good the '80s really were. We didn't have the internet, or cell phones, but we most certainly had Dynasty.

Sure, you had lengthy encyclopedias not google, home phones, large tube TVs with flawed antennas, and a radio instead of the internet, and Walkman/tape players. Yea, sounded great.

These clips never get old. But seeing them now pales in comparison to seeing them in context. Dynasty had the nation and the world in a chokehold and you HAD to be there to experience it. This scene was so contrived and enunciated with very strong plosives and throat like quality. The timing and gesticulations were played to the hilt by both of these soap divas. The faux world domination was absurd yet incredibly compelling. In fact all of these types of scenes were played like a Bond film. It’s a shame Linda Evans never got the fact that she wasn’t playing in a Western. Which I suspect was the original idea with the working title first named “Oil”. This show was far more dangerous. And very camp.
