The significance of Dominique Devereaux is the fact that unlike everyone else in the show, she was born poor and had to bust her ass to not only rise from poverty, but achieve her own wealth. Her years of struggle and strife are what made her the powerhouse she was, and ultimately the most respectable character on that show.

anyone who thinks dominque sounded ghetto does not know what ghetto sounds like....diahann carrol has a very unique speaking voice and that in knw way suggests her ethnicity much less black...4 whatever a black person sounds like....and the character of dominque/and diane carrolwere/are very articulate....and sadly all though Dominique was over 30 yrs ago and we have a black president...racism is alive n kicking in the good ol' usa and always will be....dominque came to dynasty with such flare n fan fare that after few episodes her character became useless/pointless..that is because the producers were in unchartered territory and did not wnt to risk backlash frm their white audience...sable did more in one season to rattle alexis cage than blake or dominuque did the entire run of the show...
