6.7 H.O DEF consumption while towing heavy?

Since owning this 2023 f450 with a 6.7 Powerstroke high output, I have noticed it burns a lot more def. it seems like the def consumption is higher on when the truck is towing! so let's load it up what everything we got and see how much DEF it burns!
In my videos I talk about my experience owning my Ford F350 with the 7.3 GODZILLA V8. I also feature my 2019 F250 with the 6.2 L gas v8, And if you like diesel content we also feature 6.7 powerstoke content as well. Comment below and thanks for watching!

Fan belt should be designed for on and off fan use. Look at hwy trucks. Fan on and off. No problem. Thanks for the video!!!!

More heat or load on the engine will create more NOx which calls for more DEF usage. 2025 I believe will start dual SCR or electrically heated SCR or both.

@@DS-TRUCKS a heating element in the SCR catalyst to reduce the time to warm up. That will likely work during start up, idle and possibly some transient response during cold opening conditions. I’m not sure what they’ll actually do for system operation of the heater but I can assume it will be working to maintain the catalyst temperature to increase efficiency and reduce ammonia slip and NOx.

No, it’s spraying just about all the time. It’s what’s called a passive regen. A regular regen will kick up the rpm’s to about 8 hundred and what’s called a forced regen would be done with a computer and kick the idle up to around 1200 hundred rpm.

DEF has nothing to do with regens. Two different functions. DEF is part of the SCR process to reduce NOX emissions . A regen burns soot out of the dpf

No, the DEF system always works and works more with high heat or high load. The EGR will typically close off under high load and during regens.

@@JerzeyguySCR (DEF) system has no relation to DPF cleaning. It functions more during cleaning (regen) because of the elevated temperature which makes higher NOx.

Because we can't really weigh it, we eye ball it and it can be a little heavier based on moisture content or how fine the material might be... But you are right, I should have said 2 yards.
