In this video we rip out the 5W40 motorcraft oil and install 10W30 hotshot secrets Pao oil. this is my favorite oil that I've used and these diesels over the years. let's see how it performs under the extreme conditions that we are putting our truck through. 24-hour shifts plowing snow, towing and hauling around 25,000 lb. comment below and let me know your thoughts! 10W-30 pump-ability when cold will be higher than 5W-40. PAO should help out with oil flow when cold in theory. You’ll probably be okay honestly.

The way you use your truck and the climate I would have went with 5w40

I’m 100 percent a 5w40 fan for heavy duty use . Maybe I’m a traditionalist but all I run in our entire fleet is 15w40 Hd fleet diesel oil ,the same bulk motor oil found in the vast majority of class 7/8 trucks. Most of the work you do is heavy duty . We do not have any light duty diesels like the 6.7 ,but if we did I’d run 5w40 synthetic to try to extend the service life.

It’s recommended that you just lube it and spin it on , Ford and all other oems recommend that . I’ve yet to see one manufacturer recommend pre filling the oil filter . Its 100x more likely to cause engine failure than it is to extend engine life. You are simply running the risk of plugging a piston cooling jet, seen that next time you pull heavy and along hard pull you’ll aerate a piston, and be buying an engine,warranty doesn’t cover a tiny piece of oil container seals in the piston jets .Love your hi flow funnel mods😂
