$6 Light Bar Whistle Fix

If you have a light bar on your rig, you probably are not a stranger to the terrible whistle it makes at high speed. This is a quick and affordable fix that will work with any light bar with heat sink fins on the back. Took me over a year to actually get around to fixing this, but I couldn't be happier that I finally did!

This worked for me for about 1 day. Than the strips whipped off in the wind. Also rain and snow kills this option. How long has it worked for you? Thinking of adding alligator clips to it or an epoxy for it to stay on better

Use a surface prep chemical like 3m bondprep. At the very least, prep with isopropyl alcohol and let fully dry. Make sure the surface temp is above 50f before applying.

Not a bad idea! You used only silicone? No extra fin or anything?

@@TrailBendersOverland just the clear silicone. For awhile i had a towel zip tied to the back of it LOL

I spaced my LB 3" in front of my air dam. No whistle. Whenever they are close to something they whistle.

Aired down and disconnected Awesome! Good to know. I have seen a couple rigs with standalone light bars that whistle, so maybe the video can help them. But might be worth relocating the bar to fix too for some people.
