I thought at first this wasn’t going to work. I applied today on the bottom 3 lines of the light bar and a 4th small strip in the middle of the 4th line on the light bar. It works perfect. Thank you so much!!!!!

Just tried it today 6.13.21 and it worked great!!! Eliminated the sound completely. Ive been riding my jeep for 2 years with that annoying whistle sound. Thanks again for the Video.

Drove around with my new LED bar for 3 weeks trying to drain out the whistling noise with loud music. Glad I came across this helpful tip. Although the noise does come fro. the bottom of the bar, I applied the seals to the top and bottom. Blended in well and works 100%. Thanks for the tip

Thank you so much. Easy to do and fairly cheap. I was warned about the whistling but thought it was a rare thing.... NOPE! I ended up putting the edge trim on 6 fins. I tried at 2 but it didn't go away. Seemed like the fins that were level or below windshield frame needed to be covered. The fins that are above windshield frame are not covered but whistling is completely gone. Thanks again.

WAS having the same problem on my side by side 30 - 40 mph. With no enclosed cab it was ear piercing, deafening loud. $10 for 8 foot of edge trim and it's silent at all speeds. 👍👍

Thanks for the video, especially the part where you showed the sound inside the Jeep. That's EXACTLY what mine sounds like. I thought it was engine noise through the speakers. I bought a JK while I'm over working in Dubai so shopping for stuff is a bit different but today's mission is to find that door trim. Does it stay on or do you have to reapply after awhile?

By adding that trim piece you're just changing the way the air is going under the light bar. Its like wrapping a bungee chord around a square roof bar. Just breaking the air flow.

That Howling issue would sound like a Whistling Kettle or you might think it might be something in the engine bay area, I have seen where they just put rubber door trim across the fins and it Fixes the problem.

Having same problem on a side by side I just bought. Are you putting trim over the end of the cooling fins or plugging the gap between. Thx!

how is the plastic holding up to the heat release from those cooling fins? seen another video that glued a rubber lip on top rail n it helped. looking for longer trail use life span, need to save costs somewhere, gas mileage sucks...love the Jeep life....

I bought plastic cable conduit and cut about a centimeter off where the long opening is. Then I opened it up and pushed it onto the back of the lightbar as tight as wide open as the long opening would get. I employed two zip ties to hold the conduit on the back of the lightbar. The lightbar has been operating quietly since 2011. Should your Jeep be equipped with a soft top and soft half doors, you will appreciate investing in a new set of Bestop upper door sliders.

Come to find out the whistling is due to the large void at the bottom of the bar. I filled the void with 1/2 x 1/2 foam rubber cut from a mat. Filled from end to end along with door trim on the fins the whistling is gone. I think if you fill the void with black silicone prior to mount this will achieve great results.

So. Yours isnt so bad, i just got one on my silverado thats so loud it sounds like its in the cab, louder than my radio, hell louder than my exhaust. It sounds like a tornado siren and it starts at 40.

Simple fix guy buy thick door trim that's double sided bring your light bar out put the foam trim right around the rubber on your windshield double it up then push light bar back on it nothing worked tried everything but this was a game changer no whistle at all gotta stop the air from the bottom. It's not the light bar fins making the noise

i got gorilla tape taped top to bottom in the very middle then about a foot away from that on either side so i had three strips of tape and it kills the whistle and it’s stayed on for a month and a half and is still going cause that gorilla tape is sticky enough that it feels like it’ll pull your finger print off of your finger it’s rained snowed and been down to 18 degrees and that tape is still there

This worked to make the whistling go away but there is still a roaring sound and it feels like there’s wind resistance.

Do you stick the trim over the actual metal piece or in between them. Just bout the trim and going to try it out so I thought id ask! Thanks all

The wind resistance of the light bar causes a negative effect on your mpg and aerodynamics as well.
