Logotype mistakes can truly ruing your logo design. A professional and functional logo design needs to work in harmony with both the symbol or logo mark, and the logotype itself. So dive into todays video tutorial on logotype, and learn what to avoid in your very own designs.
The logotype on a design is just as important as the logo symbol. The symbol is the aspect that is memorable of the logo, and the logotype might given context but also validation to the overall design. It should be as thought out as the other parts of the design, and so the logotype is not something to be taken lightly. Find out why it is so important in the tutorial, and learn what mistakes to avoid.
If you found todays tutorial on logotype in Illustrator enjoyable or useful, let me know in the comments section and drop a like on your way out. Subscribe to stay updated to all of my uploads and until next time, design your future today, peace

Not related to fonts, but I always pack logo files for my clients with various sizes/formats for print and web, including JPEGs and PNGs and a small e-mail signature logo. They are organized into folders and labeled accordingly. Most of my clients have no idea what formats to use and this keeps them from calling me every time they need something. ;-) Well worth the extra 15 minutes to do this.

I've been trying to come up with a logo for my personal freelancing for almost a year now and I'm just struggling because my name is so hard to create. I need a logo that works as an icon and can also be used as watermarks for my photos/videos. Not a fan of cliche photography logos like cameras or red dot recording buttons or cursive with my name. But this does help narrow down what I need to focus on.

You never explained why we should not use one letter for two words. I am not an amateur logo designer and I’ve made a logo with one letter two words, but the difference is the two words are the name of the brand but each in a different language that share one letter (S) which looks like the letter “e” in the other language. So what’t exactly the reason for not using one letter for two words? Thanks in advance.
@ZaidanMhmood
@ZaidanMhmood 5 жыл бұрын
Satori Graphics I see. Makes lots of sense. Using one letter in that case surely shows no consistency in the name parts, so it’ll be separated in the eye and observed as two different parts. Thanks a lot for the clarification. Keep it up, we love these videos :)

I think that typography with another purpose than compose the graphics should be avoided in logos at all. If you just put the brand name somewhere with your logo, it doesn't really is part of the design, and if the customer can't recognize the brand looking to graphics, will hardly do it by name. A lot of logos today need to be used on application icons, and subtitles doesn't work anyway. But if the brand name is part of logo (like FedEx), no problem.
