This is literally what I’m going through right now. I’ve been developing feelings for a guy I work with who’s married. He’s way older than me too so this is very different for me. I’m trying to view it as he’s like a guide for me, making me realize what exactly I am attracted to. I made the realization that sometimes feelings aren’t things to act on but more indicators of things unseen, kind of like how the body makes you crave certain things when you’re lacking in something.

@@Psych2go Oh yes. I generally don’t express how I feel in social situations as that would draw attention to myself. Once I’m comfortable it’s a whole new game and I don’t struggle nearly as much with shyness once I feel comfortable opening up. Talking about something I am confident about (for example I give wild plant foraging talks) that is outside of myself - Is different and I don’t struggle with that much. But the tips I’m gaining from this channel about social cues, signs, etc, have been very helpful!

Over the past year or two I've had this growing change in my sexual identity where the idea of having an S.O being EITHER a male or female doesn't sound bad to me at all so long as they're of good company, and this guy I talked about here REALLY makes me feel that way all the more. Like seriously, he makes me feel things I don't think I have ever experienced before, and I really do enjoy interacting with him. Hopefully if I do meet him IRL someday he doesn't turn out to be like a totally different person, because that would suck.

Online friendships do end up being real life relationships from time to time. @@Psych2go sorry for the late response, Those feelings were when I meet my friend. She was the person who maded me feel like she was worth the effort, and I would always do alot of the things in the vedios and she would as well. We both always have been super supportive of eachother. We are still good friends as we both lost feelings over time. Those feelings are very special to me. Sometimes i think about them and this vedio does remind me of those feelings we had in the past. Her family and I also know eachother and things are well. Maybe one day we both would reconnect but for now these memories are something I cherish. Not a very expressive person but these memories her change that. Happiest days of my life.

Mhm, she doesn't like me anymore though because I was a shy little sperg. I used to wear sweaters to school, literally almost every day because I was insecure about my arm size or something. Like, even on a hot day, I'd be reluctant to take it off. I was also insecure about my hairy legs, and so I wore sweatpants most of the time too. I remember in 8th grade or so, I sat alone literally every day. Like bro, I barely remember anything from middle school ngl. All I remember is sitting on that cafe table, alone with my fucking sweater and sweatpants and no one to call, no one to text it's like all the days somehow melted and came together as one long and depressing day. While all my classmates were going out with their friends, training for sports, going to parties, investing in romantic relationships, just creating fantastic memories to last a lifetime all I was doing was staying home and rotting away into oblivion. I'm a sophomore now, and luckily I've improved a lot (or so I think.) I don't use disgusting sweaters to hide my body anymore, now I can wear shirts and shorts without trouble. I've even started wearing my silver chain again. I'm not one of those crazy super extroverted guys, but I certainly know I'm not a little mute loser anymore. I'm so glad I'm not that kid anymore dude. I also managed to talk to my crush just today in chemistry class. I was so nervous, I thought I would empty my bowels. But I didn't let that deter me, and where the inferior past version of me would have immediately broken eye contact like a girl, I stared down into her eyes. It wasn't a full-blown conversation, just a sentence as we had an activity in class where we needed to make a list of 12 partners, but even with that I knew I had won. I had just successfully conquered the shyness, the stupid "personality trait" that has robbed me of happiness over and over. I learned a valuable lesson from her. I'm sorry if that was redundant and I know nobody will be reading this whole entire thing, but I'm just frustrated at being such a loser.

​@@Err_404_ Don't worry about being genuine dude. It's alright. Glad you shared your experience because honestly, I thought it was just me. But you're the guy version haha. I also wear long sleeves a lot when outside to cover my arms since I'm a bit skinny. I always wear jackets too with my uniform... because I'm something of an ectomorph (it's a somatotype- a body form type) and it doesn't help that I get cold so easily. I'm also the quiet kid type who doesn't speak much unless spoken to. I spent most of my time in the library instead of making connections with people. Instead of reaching out to my classmates, I just absorbed myself in books I borrowed rather than paying attention to people. But you know, looking back as a more outspoken person, I don't see that as "loser" behavior as you say. There is no winning or losing behavior unless someone is truly wholesome or toxic. It's probably just the social politics in school that's got people making up hierarchies on who is "better" or "lesser"... You know. Highschool drama kinda stuff. And if it's really highschool- you might not see it from an inside POV, but maybe others see you as an intimidating lone wolf or maybe you got that RBF or voice that cause people to hesitate. Effects of puberty and all. Some classmates judgment can be a bit off because they only work with assumptions or impressions to be safe. As a bookworm, some classmates thought I was a "snob" (a word written from a jumbled anonymous paper evaluation activity that we had back then- it was fun~ other words are "independent" or "quiet" etc.) because I was always busy reading instead of gossiping. There are just people like that. And I really don't think it's a loss to not be part of that circle. I'm a bit more outspoken now (I have to be-) even when I still wear jackets because of our very chilly classrooms. Putting my voice out there and showing a bit of the personality I have cooped up inside helped a bit to get people to treat me a bit better. Sometimes being "open" like that from time to time helps people open up a bit more to me too. But I still am a shy character deep inside. I just match the initial energy that someone shows me and go for it. It also helps that our current school's library is lacking so I don't spend time there anymore. Also I don't see anything wrong with the "shyness" as a personality trait... I think it's adorkable and a sign that someone worries a bit too much about their actions that they get shy in the first place. But that's just my biased take on it hahah. If you're really not sure about whether your "personality trait" is helping you, then maybe checking out your MBTI type will help? Being an introvert is not a curse, but in a mostly extroverted world, it may feel like that. So it'll help to find like-minded people. Like the MBTI community. And their feel-good memes. Hahah once you get in there, you'll never see some "personality traits" the same way again as just black and white. I swear. Just putting this out there, because that's one of the things that really changed my POV, and you reminded me so much of me lol... besides the gender part, bookworm part, and talking to the crush part of course... (Some of my crushes have become my chatmates before lol- or maybe it's the other way around?) Also, since I've already said this much, let me add this too as well- have you tried letter apps before like Slowly? Your comment reads like a letter from the openness and sincerity of it. If you feel frustrated and like a "loser" because you lack some connections or memories with others, then that can be fixed with actual pen pals. I mean, the thought of someone writing a letter to you that has parts of their life/story which can come at any time... it's a good distraction from the self-loathing thoughts. Also it feels much more freeing to anonymously vent, ramble, or rant there hahah because everyone is basically doing that. Anyways, hope this helps and wish you luck with your crush there. Don't let the self-loathing confuse you from what you're capable of. I'm just saying since introverts can often get wrapped up in their heads. You got this!

@@Psych2go I have them sinds i was a kid. bcos of many traumas. I always had the same sleep paralysis. I would wake up in my room very dark and i could never turn on the lights or scream. Now that im older 20 currently they never left but they’re different each time. I went to therapy for two years. But i think the nightmares and paralysis will stay with me forever. But luckily i never feel scared anymore im used to them. Except this one i had but im okey know🫶🏼

That sounds very rough to deal with.. However, it sounds like you somehow learned how to cope with your situation, which I believe is amazing. If you don't mind my asking, can the sleep paralysis be cured or improved in the future?

Trust me, your time will come. Just don’t force things and don’t stress or think about it too much. Everyone is different in showing attraction. Someone might have a crush on you and you won’t even know/ expect it. Always hope for the best and love yourself before anything. Learning to love yourself can help you love others. Well, as someone in a weird situation out of highschool with a BIT of life experience (not a whole lot, but a bit, you guys are like 16-17 and I am 22 and have worked a few jobs), from what you wrote, seems like at the very least you feel very safe with him and you being giddy is a pretty good sign you like him. Though I don't want to say anything definitive around the internet. You guys going on as normal after he asked if you like him is also very great. Shows that the topic, while confusing, wasn't so uncomfortable that you talked less. Maybe he is just a really good friend to you, maybe you like him more than that. Honestly, if you trust him enough maybe talk to him about it again. If he brought it up, that's a pretty good sign. Can't hurt right? Last time you talked about it you went on as normal.
