Normally, the immune system produces just enough inflammation to keep infections, allergens, toxins or other stressors under control. However, when the natural balance of your immune system is disrupted, the immune system shifts into a chronic state of alarm spreading a smoldering fire of inflammation throughout the body.
In essence, the part of your immune system that is designed to protect you from foreign invaders starts attacking the cells and tissues of your own body. When this happens it can cause major problems. There are a few final causes that everyone in medicine (even most conventional medicine practitioners) agree are the sources of all diseases. Inflammation is one of them.
Cooling the fire of inflammation actually isn’t as hard as it sounds once you know how to do it. In this video, I’ll explain to you how to cool that fire inside of you alongside a few guests who have joined me on The Doctor’s Farmacy.
Shawn Stevenson is the author of the international bestselling book Sleep Smarter and creator of The Model Health Show, one of the top health podcasts in the world. A graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Shawn studied business, biology, and nutritional science, and went on to found Advanced Integrative Health Alliance, a company that provides wellness services for individuals and organizations worldwide. Shawn has been featured in Forbes, Fast Company, The New York Times, Muscle & Fitness, ESPN, and many other major media outlets. He is also an in-demand keynote speaker for numerous organizations, universities, and conferences.
Dr. Todd LePine graduated from Dartmouth Medical School and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, specializing in Integrative Functional Medicine, and is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. He has been practicing Functional Medicine for over 15 years focusing on Optimal Aging, Bio-Detoxification, Gastrointestinal Health, Systemic Inflammation, Autoimmune disorders and the Neurobiology of mood and cognitive disorders.
Dr. Elizabeth Boham is Board Certified in Family Medicine from Albany Medical School, and she is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner and the Medical Director of The UltraWellness Center. Dr. Boham lectures on a variety of topics, including Women’s Health and Breast Cancer Prevention, insulin resistance, heart health, weight control and allergies. It takes a lifetime to figure it out because we were sabotaged from before birth by big medical who are the most dishonest and dangerous people on earth. ( Medical doctors are usually just ignorant and dangerous. They think they are all knowing, but they have been taught nonsense. ) This is why the FDA controls both food and drugs in favor of big-pharma.

I have cut way back on sugars . I have been doing a fasting routine, watching what I eat and when I eat . It took about 4days to get in that routine, it’s leveling off. As of today 7/17/21, I have lost 12lbs , my readings are all down. Today also I maxed the 18hr threshold, body asking for nourishment but not feeling like I would be famished . I am currently recovering from a lot off health complications that left me off balance health wise. Autoimmune, leaky guts, the inflammation was so bad I lost brain functions. Diet, diet, diet has become my way of finding my way back to self. Food has become my medicine. Pharmaceutical medication did not help. I felt miserable whenever I took anything pharmaceutical. Depends completely on the nutrient density of the soil our food grows in. Since most soils arevery deficient, there just aren't enough minerals in the food. Then there's the whole science of figuring out which supplements work and which don't, the biochemistry, bioavailabilty, of different forms of nutrients. Gotta be your own doctor and your own scientist.

One video I haven't seen that might be helpful for the non-medical community is to do a thorough, visual, description of the gut and it's functions from beginning to end. When we talk about the gut microbiome....where exactly is that located? I always pictured the colon but apparently there is a pouch at the beginning of the large intestine that contains most of the microbiome? I think many people (including myself) hear "the gut" and picture the stomach or "the microbiome" and picture the colon. I haven't seen this actually described in detail in a video.

It's interesting that we don't crave sugar as much as the bugs in our gut. Once we do a proper "candida cleanse" with some anti fungal herbs, fiber and liver support (and NO sugar on the 10-14 day diet) and then repopulate with good spore-based flora, the cravings are gone. Your brain has a function that filters out certain compounds as a means of protection. for example, curcumin in turmeric cannot cross the bbb unless it’s paired with pepperine, found in pepper. Glucose, however, easily passes the blood brain barrier since it is a vital source of energy for the brain. The problem is not glucose necessarily, but in the large amount and types of glucose we are consuming today.

Lack of sleep, skin suddenly went super dry and the skin around my eyes skin suffered horribly. Dry and flaky. I eat mostly veggies because I'm becoming sensitive to meats accept for fish. Is there a cook book or help book for someone like me? I've started boot camp for firming up my body but my energy levels drop really bad sometimes. Bragfs Apple cider vinegar shots with mothers helps with energy but I'm not sure that's something I should do all the time. There is reality that never meet truth of such one-sided preaches. The most fattening item in this planet is car. Start walking. Start walking and start revolution for planting new trees, demand green cities without cars, ... starch and sugar? Yes, they are wrong, when consumed purified and beyond your energy requirement (sodas, modern food..). With almost everything else one can just agree. Always pleased with respectable Mark Hyman. great job. Especially with second half on family dinners, real food, environmental toxicants,.. they are all much, much more important than slice of rye bread.

Curiously, long ago bread was leavened using a form of iodine. Then the leavening agent was changed to bromate. Many places around the world began to outlaw the use of bromate. Bromine, fluorine, and chlorine block iodine needed by the body.

Does she take pre-pro biotics with her antibiotics? After a sinus infection and antibiotic augmentin, I had C-diff in 2017. I am not used to taking antibiotics at all; hardly ever get sick. This time the antibiotic wiped out my microbiome. I had to go to the emergency room. C-diff has a tendency to return if you have a weak system and poor microbiome (good gut bacteria). I started taking my probiotics since then and have had no issues with C-diff again. There are treatments for pup implantation. If she gets it frequently, ask the dr (it does heal by giving a good gut bacteria).

I really appreciate all this content but I can't understand why they all say sugar, carbs, and starch are bad and then they recommend fruit, vegetables, and a mostly plant-based diet. All plant foods contain carbs, sugar, starch, etc. Even human breastmilk is high in sugar so this gets confusing and sounds like a contradiction but I think they just need to stop making blanket statements about carbs, sugar and starch because they probably mean stuff like cookies, donuts, chips, etc. but these are highly processed foods that are actually typically higher in fat than carbs when it comes to macronutrient composition.

Find a friend or partner who will do keto diet with you, and talk every day about your progress and failures. Start slowly, cutting specific carbs out of your diet and increasing your “ fasting” window.
