Let's talk all about anxiety and anxiety relief! In this video I'm joined by my friend and fellow KZfaqr ‪@KelseyDarragh‬ to talk through the 6 causes of or things making your anxiety worse - and what to do instead! If you're asking yourself questions like: 1) why do I have anxiety? 2) how do I get rid of anxiety? or 3) how to prevent anxiety? Then this video will show you the things that could be making your anxiety worse and the ways to prevent anxiety! We'll also talk about generalized anxiety disorder and how to diagnose generalized anxiety disorder - so you can properly understand the symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder and when to see a doctor. Anxiety is part of the human condition but there are many things we can do to help prevent our anxiety from spiking to a place where it can disable our daily lives or potentially cause us to have panic or anxiety attacks throughout the day. If you are struggling with anxiety and looking for tips on how to manage or reduce your anxiety - then these 6 ways to reduce anxiety and 6 things making your anxiety worse may help you with day to day anxiety management and control.

The best way to get rid of sugar cravings is to eat very low carb. SO the good new AND the bad news, you can do something about it. It takes me about 3 days to have no cravings.

I have adhd and anxiety (my husband and step-daughter have adhd, too) and we finally got our house organized over the summer with the help of a very generous friend. We always lived in such clutter and chaos and it got so overwhelming that I didn’t even know where to start in dealing with it, but I’ve definitely noticed that having a tidier and more organized space has decreased so much daily anxiety and improved my overall mood!

YEP, this! all of these are things that I do to manage my anxiety. I would add too: Get more sleep. I've noticed that when I'm overly tired my brain isn't able to think rationally and I end up catastrphizing a lot! All of the panic attacks I've ever had happen when I've been sleep deprived.

I tend to Freeze and stop when I get really anxious and I know that I need to keep moving forward in life. One thing that I have learned to keep in mind that has helped me with my anxiety, is that anxiety is an internal reaction to thoughts or perceptions of an external stimulus and most likely not the external stimulus itself. When I am anxious, the only thing that is actually bothering me is my anxiety. The more I challenged myself to be in those situations or settings that made me anxious I started counting the minutes that went by as I was waiting on whatever negative feeling or consequence I was trying to avoid. Because those negative feelings will subside and those consequences never actually happened, overtime, I agree more and more and more confident in myself because I literally could not deny that sitting there and going through whatever it is I was going through was survivable because the only thing I had to do with was my anxiety and so I couldn't deny that I could do those things and be okay. And as I kept doing this I stopped getting anxious because I had already done it so many times before with my feelings of anxiety present.

Best anxiety drug is forcing myself to live in the precise edge of the moment of time, fully focused in doing an exact thing in an exact way in an exact order in an exact moment So I started building plastic models again. My inner 12-year old boy loves it. I even feel like I'm the father of myself, my 12-year old self, when I'm working. The stress from the more difficult things along the way are healthy stress that I can easily handle, and quickly overcome and the reward is both immediate and satisfying. No money involved. No other people involved. No outside opinions involved. Just me in my temple.

Doing an exact thing in an exact way in an exact moment sounds a lot like a mindfulness practice to me. I do this kind of thing in my head when anxiety comes. If I do it right anxiety will be gone after minute. Currently I have like 10 minutes of anxiety a day. I think the underlying principle here is „to not feed the best“ by not indulging in anxiety thoughts, which reduces the anxiety complex in our brain.

@@3cheeseup It is BUT it's combined with nourishing our inner child. Doing things that bring out the old you, the things we forgot about ourselves. It's much more personal and healing than mindfulness in my opinion.

It's may sound weird but my cure for anxiety is stay in the bathroom I feel comfortable with alone, relax do nothing until I feel calm. Then it's time for me to recall what trigger me. Why I feel anxious. I have never experience increasing in heart rate. But feel a little hungry, exhaust or a little shaking. A little want something sweet but not really that crave. Eat often But can't eat excessive amount of sugar.

My depression spiraled down so awfully that now I have social anxiety. If implementing these tips and taking little steps makes you anxious (like me right now) write it. That's why I'm writing. My brain is telling me to shut off this and just keep doing what I need in a robotic way, take your (whatever) and write it to process it. Our brains spin so fast when anxiety is building up, but we need to do something at least to slow it down.

I've created a to-do list but called it 'small achievements.' The idea is to do just one thing from the list every day. Each small thing is so small it almost seems not important enough to do. Can take five or ten minutes. By the end of the week I had hours worth of longstanding chores I'd avoided completed and barely noticed doing them. If you don't know where to start, just do the thing directly in front of you. There's no right order.

Mindfulness is my fav tool. I use it along with grounding techniques. There’s so many ways to use it and can be implemented in literally any aspect of your daily life. Use the bodies senses, vision, touch, smell, sound and taste. I particularly love nature looking at the fine details of our world and also touch to feel different textures and pay attention to the present. You can do it with brushing your teeth, drinking a coffee, cuddling/patting a pet and pay attention to all the bodies senses, go through them all and look for details you never noticed before

I do mindfulness too whenever I notice anxiety comes, if I do it right it’s gone in a few seconds. Currently I have only a few minutes of anxiety a day (which is a lot better than the whole day just a year ago…). What I find hard to do is doing it right away when anxiety rises. Sometimes I drift off in these anxiety thoughts not starting the mindfulness because I’m so busy catastrophising.

@@3cheeseup yeah I find if I’m ‘too far gone’ into an episode I can’t even do breathing exercises or anything. I just try do whatever I feel I need to help my emotions like cry, random things like wandering the backyard picking up twigs and any little task that takes no brain power but is safe, or cuddles with pets or my loved ones. Sometimes I scream in the car if I need that lol. Embarrassing what can help but gotta do what’s safe and helps

Katie! Love your videos! Can you do one speaking on Misophonia? I have struggled with this my entire life. It’s difficult for me to watch KZfaqrs at times who smack their lips while talking or if my friends or family do it. I can’t be around people who eat even when I can tell they are trying their best to accommodate me. It doesn’t matter who or why, the sound drives me crazy and sends me into distress. I’ve tried to beat it several times, but I’ve seen there is no treatment for it as of now. But it would be so awesome if you could do a video on this so others who deal with the disorder can understand it better and raise some awareness on the topic. ❤️❤️❤️

I find the exact opposite when it comes to messy spaces. I thrive in messy spaces. Clean and empty areas actually give me anxiety, especially because lots of the stuff out, I need out for my various projects and stuff. Growing up, my bedroom was the only place I felt safe, surrounded by my things. When it's clean, I don't feel like I can do anything and everything has to stay perfect and I'm not allowed to get anything out for any reason. I always got yelled at when I did that as a kid and so I really need the mess. It's the only way I feel safe. And as far as being alone, that's the best thing for me, as having to be with people, I can't be myself, I have to be what they want me to be, and I can't talk about anything and I know I'm being judged by them. I've never had anyone to be around who accepts me as I am.

I have been stuck in that cycle 2 times for longer periods and belive me you can get out off. Best advise i can tell you as soon you accept that when decide to stop it and go out your social anxiety will skyrocket for first few times. And thats normal becouse you got use to avoid social settings. Just remember no matter how bad it gets there is no way it will do you long term harm, and if you do something stupid people will forget in short time, specially if you mid size or big city. Anyway good luck and best wishes to do what is best for you

I had agoraphobia. Try going for walks at quiet times. Short ones and build up. If it's people you're anxious about, maybe try cycling, it feels very different to be outside on a bike vs being on foot. I strongly recommend journaliing, really dig down deep and examine what exactly it is you feel when you think about going out. Is it people looking at you? Judging you? It is for me. Try to find out why the thing that bothers you, bothers you. Family history, negative emotions in childhood and teens. I only realised last week my social anxiety is a symptom of shame around the messy home I grew up in, and my father who couldn't cope with normal life. I found him and his appearance deeply embarrassing as he wasn't like all the normal dads. I'm telling you just as an example of the kinds of reasons for why we end up feeling the way we do.

Yes, sugar replacing alcohol is real. They’re both ethanol based (?) and equally toxic to the liver. Kids with excessive sugar have been diagnosed with livers like alcoholic adults! 😩 But that wasn’t what I wanted to say… I had a fear of freeway overpasses for a few years. Avoided as much as I could with surface street transitions or just shaked if I couldn’t. One day, I somehow shed my fear and drove over several sky high LA freeway ramps! It must have been a great NPR story hour on the radio. Idk, but I’m ok with ramps for the time being 😅💃💞

That's cool but I still would purposely take the weekend off and see how your sleep is. Is it more difficult to get to sleep if you skip it 2 nights in a row? A glass a day can be healthy (depending on the pesticide used on the plant) just be mindful few addictions start in the advanced stages. Those who now have a problem never thought early on it would be that bad.

Those gummies are healthier and safer than several of the crap the doc will give out. I'm not a doc and not giving medical advice. I think a great therapist who understands it will be much safer and more beneficial long-term. Drugs just mask it but solves nothing. Therapy and mushrooms over benzos I think. What ever you choose good luck! Meds or not you still deserve a therapist make sure to try and find one you click with.

I love listening to your channel. I love the neon signs, but all of the sudden I feel naked and exposed and objectified as a women. HELP! Please, no naked signs deposing me as an object!.. . Otherwise love you. ( Maybe there is still time to return if for an exchange to a flower sign or butterfly? Maybe OBGYN office can use it.)
